    CnC and RA

there are some players above 60, i think the oldest ra online player is 64 hehe Odd, I thought I fixed that bug... that is, if you're talking about C&C1. Anyway, I'm glad we could help you i think he started with an AI on the same spot on purpose
  11. (27) [20:06] * Your Version: 1.02, Gabur's game's Version: 1.01 gabur had the old one
  12. that error was caused by norton, almost everyone using norton was running the old version cause it blocked the automatic updater

  16. Server is down currently, have some patience and try again later
  17. Sonarpulse tried to write such a tool too, but im not sure if its done/working maybe it helps you in some way: https://github.com/cnc-patch/cncmix i think openra can read mix files too, maybe you could get some info there as well
  18. maybe it was just bad luck and he kept using his save game. If its the original mission then it will work for sure if he loads it and goes to the options->restart
  19. use this patcher: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=1918.0 the problem is related to the no-cd patch, you probably tried to use a no-cd patched 3.03 file but you dont have all game files in the folder the best thing is to re-install the game using the tool i linked, choose "Full CD-Installation" if you still have the freeware files or the cds
  20. it seems like you are using portableRA (3.03P R298), some of the missions have been modified in there but i dont know which i attached the original missions, extract them to your game folder and try it again load the savegame, then choose the option to restart the mission to make sure it loads the new mission missions.zip
  21. i know such a bug from co-op maps, its related to reinforcements .. it seems like the units go under the map or something there is no way you can destroy them i never heard about such a bug in a mission, could be that the mission you play is not original
  22. Summary: OpenRA got the aim of modifying the original game behavior and might be more interesting for people who like modern games CnCNet got the aim of keeping the games original with the same game-play and unit stats the games had back when they came out and might be more interesting for people who don't like modern games and played the originals back then therefore, a comparison/fusion of the original red alert/tiberian dawn and openra is not possible at all amen.
  23. you can do this already Click on settings, game settings and choose the path for all games
  24. I can't see any reason for anyone to play CnCNet. The old C&C Gold for example is very limited in map size and type. There is no reason to play CnCNet anymore. You can simply use the OpenRA engine and make a mod which has the exact same unit values as the original C&C/RA. Then you will have the exact same game you have, but better. There are many advantages to OpenRA. A simple feature is "attack-move". Another good feature is command queuing. The game also has higher resolution and a better interface generally. It also has FOG OF WAR (toggleable), a truly wonderful modern RTS invention. The map editor is also excellent, and allows for very large maps. It is also relatively rich in scriptability and can be used to make custom games within map files. The interface in general is just much smoother and more modern, and exactly what you'd expect from an RTS, instead of a clunky old design from 1995. Most of the work has already been done for creating a "classic mod" that will have all the same unit values as the original. The gameplay will naturally be slightly different since you are using a modern interface and can use things like attack-move, but that's not a bad thing. Did you ever thought about that people are playing the old games for a reason? Pretty much exactly cause they dont want all the new stuff that exists in new games!
  25. you cannot compare openra to the real red alert, its a completely different game Almost everything is different, except the graphics... People who played red alert for a couple of years online will delete openra right away after a 1minute test since nothing is the same hehe
