yes it can be slower with the shield turned on. Can you contact your internet provider and ask him to open port 6667 TCP ? If not, then try to find a VPN in your country and the speed should be good (hotspot shield is for USA only) -

It is possible, but you would need to host an irc server at home and use it as chat server It might be possible to include a whole server inside of the lobby but i didnt tried that out yet -

That is either caused by your firewall/antivirus or your internet provider locked the needed ports Try to use a vpn (www.anchorfree.com), if it works via the vpn then its caused by your internet provider if not then its very likely any security program which is installed on your pc You can also test it with an irc client (www.mirc.com), try to connect to irc.cncnet.org, channel #cncnet -
the maps are located inside of the .mix files, use XCC mixer to extract them http://xhp.xwis.net/utilities/XCC_Utilities.exe

use irans tool to generate the preview: https://github.com/Iran/RAFullMapPreviewGenerator or you can also use the new cncnet5 lobby from www.cncnet.org/5 .. double click on the small map preview and it will generate a big one using irans tool automatically

can you rename the file ? i dont think its good if there are different versions of ra95-spawn around, people might forget to rename it to ra95.exe and then it will be a out of sync party on cncnet5 (that already happened before when alley used a different version you linked and used it on cncnet5) -
release it !! if there is anything you need to rebalance then give me the rules.ini and i send it thru the updater hehe

dont use mono, it sucks .. use winetricks dotnet20 i know how to do that but i prefer to keep all files outside so people can customize them

yes, its possible to play CoOp missions with red dawn too! i dont know if allen is going to convert some of his missions to multiplayer (or maybe even all of them) would be nice for sure you need the mod rules.ini and aftrmath.ini, then just add 2 lines to the settings file (cncnet5.ini) everything else is optional .. allen made his own sounds, he got modified country names in the string tables, he got his own background, he is shipping it with his own maps and he modified the preview generator files (the flag icons he is usings are the same as the red alert ones) -
