ah right, i forgo the names but arent those the same files ?
-
he is using ra1installer, it is using the original mix files and the game tries to generate the TEMPERAT.PAL and fails that also explains why it shows version 1.11 for him, the launcher doesnt have the needed access to read the file that contains the update information
-
yes, make sure it has full access
-
do you run/install it as admin ? what about your antivirus programs ? if it cant find the TEMPERAT.PAL then it prolyl doesnt have the permission to create it

PacificMoon: Both will run at full speed (same as 6667), there is no disadvantage of using these ports! But it is probably better to use 8000 since 443 is the https port and it might be needed in some other programs! -

CnCNet 4 had a LAN patch built in, the other one was just added as an option in case the cncnet 4 lan patch doesnt work (no one really tested it much when it was made) The LAN patch allows you to play LAN games on modern windows systems (the game was using IPX which is not supported anymore) -
that is the official site, just a different sub domain

PacificMoon: oh damn, thats bad ;( i just talked to hifi and he was able to open some more ports. Go to your red alert folder and open "cncnet5.ini", add these line: [settings] ServerPort=8000 If that does not work then try ServerPort=443 please let me know if it worked!
