Updated to 3.00: Added: Install via Web This new feature downloads the freeware ISO files directly from the official EA server and installs em automatically, no CD mounting or burning needed anymore Added: Ultimate Collection and First Decade patcher You can use it as a patcher for the Ultimate Collection and First Decade (turns it into a portableRA kind of installation)

Im looking for more full game translations, so it's time to create a small tutorial about: how to create a language pack?! In the attached game-translation.zip you can find the following files: ingstr12.exe -> Ingame Strings editor, this file is needed to edit the red alert string tables (conquer.eng and editor.eng) conquer.eng -> main game string table, contains all unit names, menu text etc etc.. editor.eng -> edwin map editor string table mission.ini -> contains all mission briefings tutorial.ini -> contains all text triggers ra-clean-cam -> textless pictures for all units WOLAPI.MIX -> emtpy .mix file in the correct ra format - After you are done editing all text in the .ini and .eng files you will need to download a program to convert and add your files to the WOLAPI.MIX -> XCC Mixer 1.47 After installing fire up the mixer, browse in the left explorer to the place where you saved the done .png unit picture and in the right explorer choose your target folder. Now right click on your .png files and click on "convert as SHP" .. make sure you dont choose SHP (TS) and you dont have any mix file open in the right explorer, else converting wont work Now browse to the wolapi.mix and open it, drag and drop all the converted .shp .ini .eng files from your windows explorer into the xcc mixer window where the wolapi.mix is loaded. Now copy the Wolapi.mix into your redalert folder, done. - The following language packs are already available: French German (censored) German (uncensored) Spanish Russian (partial done) Download links are below... To be able to use the language packs on older versions of ra you will need to rename them to wolapi.mix (you don't need to rename them for portableRA) Let me know if you need any help translating the game, i might jump in and we do it together french-languagepack3.rar german-censored-languagepack3.rar german-uncensored-languagepack3.rar spanish-languagepack3.rar Game-Translation.zip

open ddraw.ini and change: renderer=gdi if you still got problems, delete ddraw.dll
-
it's because nyers TD got opengl as default renderer and RA got GDI you can either change it to opengl or disable ddraw or use another program like guncam to record

How do people edit units and things for multiplayer maps

try to download it from here: http://iran.cnc-comm.com/ra/ iran got a plenty mirrors there
-
nope, both files are hosted on some file hosters. Might be that your country does not allow you to visit those websites ? where are you from ?
-
for me it works, both of them :/
-
you can't copy it like this directly into a mix file, you need to close the mix on the other pane and create the shp, then afterwards open the mix again and copy the converted shp in
-
im not sure if that language pack will work with the version that everyone is using online too many files are modified it's normal that the descriptions disappear, it will be still working then when i was creating the spanish and russian language pack i was using MS-Paint to create the pictures, then i converted it from PNG to SHP with XCC. OS SHP Builder was always broken, it made corrupted shp files .. but i never tried any patched version of it tho
-
why ? everyone is using the patched version anyways, u cant play online without it also it might fix your problems, could also be that one of your shps is just broken, copy em in one by one until it's not working anymore
-
hey! Cool idea, hope u get that done You should just copy one of the existing .mix files, then open it in XCC and empty it, that's better than creating a new one why don't you try to use the patched version of the game? it allows you to create a real language pack as addon, so you don't need to replace any files you can find some language packs as example here: http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cnc95upd/cc95p106/

start cncnet.exe once, it will create a new file called wsock32.dll, afterwards you should be able to use LAN too

Setting up Red Dawn for Online play and need help.
FunkyFr3sh replied to Allen262's topic in Modding Discussion
if youu put all files in wolapi.mix u can just port your mod easy to any other ra and u also don't need to add all the OOS-Fix ini keys to your rules.ini, config tool and all that stuff would also work like this just try it out and you will see -

Go to the chat and ask hifi which header is still free to use, if hes in mood he will add your mod to the cncnet page aswell, then just hex edit what i told you and that's about all you need to do if you want to update to the latest version you gotta do some more changes, you could for example place all files you have modified in your mod to a single mix file (wolapi.mix) and just place it in the game folder of the new version -
