openra sucks. somebody needs to make a good game and interface with it then maybe ill want to modify it. thats not to belittle the work its just a terrible game in my opinion lolololol. that will change if you make tibsun for it. ill modify that day of launch.

is that one of the settings i can toggle on and off in the cncnet version of ts?

if youre playing on a laptop stop it. ts hate laptops. only time when i had real performance drops once the graphics patch came out was on laptops

a lot of big companies don't like making games people can't relate to. and they also reference statistics and try to copy what is popular. when they made C&C3 they purposely copied a lot of starcraft gameplay mechanics and probably looked at tiberian sun and thought it was a mediocre low rated game so they ignored it and went back to their roots because they thought tiberian dawn would be more popular as well as starcraft style gameplay mechanics only referencing the basics of what makes a C&C game C&C. louis castle admitted that generals was only made to profit off of 9/11 terrorist attack before they made generals they were working on another scifi C&C game but they decided a more real world C&C would be more profitable thanks to 9/11. they also could not afford to make the scifi world that tiberian sun offered for their cinematics when they were making C&C3. was a lot cheaper to put gdi stickers on apple laptops and ikea furniture and some tv screens with cute little scifi animations playing. there was a lot of talk about their limited budget when it was coming out and how its a lot more expensive these days to do what ts did.

yes tiberian sun has those triggers as well. you can have countdown timers in tiberian sun that is shown ingame how much time is remaining. there have been maps made in the past with triggers having things like 10 minute countdowns usually with neutral defense structures preventing people from attacking each other and then exploding when the countdown hits 0. download finalsun and sunedit2k and look up tutorials on how to use the triggers then report back here when you done. make it happen.

well if you look at all of westwood's games they always wanted crazy scifi. hell they bought the dune franchise almost immediately to make dune games. pretty much all of their well known games are scifi. look at earth and beyond. so we got dune, earth and beyond, crazy tech red alert etc. it has always been about crazy tech. even tiberian dawn had a trailer of ts and what was there a mech with lasers lol. these real world fagts are the ones who are hijacking westwood's vision. i mean look at tiberian sun. do they think that was a mistake copying aliens, starwars, dune, etc???? no they wanted to do that. they did it from the beginning with obelisk of light and the orca and the aliens. in fact the only real world reference they got was the idea of a powerful terrorist faction but even that was based on scifi aliens and not real world motivation. and yeah i saw some tiberian dawn concept work. def leading up to ts vision. westwood was all about dat scifi fuck these real world dorks tehehehehe

are you sure he didn't just sell his tech center? every single person who plays tiberian sun sells their tech center right after building it because it is not required to keep the tech and gives money and power back.

last week i was watching a lot of videos of Battlefield 2142. decided its too crappy to play lolololol.

i agree. we need michael jackson at the missile silo. in all seriousness though. gdi is a pain in the ass to get ion cannon and hunter seeker. nod just has to sell tech then build temple and missile silo. gdi has to keep tech and then get the mounting structure before selling tech. this is rather extreme just like nod needing temple for the commando. you will only see ion cannon used extremely rarely maybe 1 out of 100 games or more often if the player is just dicking around cause their opponent sucks. missile silos are in most games that last even moderately long. the balance between nod and gdi is very drastic. titans can survive being bombed. tick tanks cant. etc. also, many people would rage if you changed tiberian sun. ts is a very competitive game. since im a part of this group of people i know how they would react. i used to make graphics mods to try to better the graphics. i bite my tongue here and dont even dare recommend changing the graphics like adding smoke to power plants and more detailed units etc like tiberian sun retro. its meant to be played the way westwood and ea made it. i recommend you make a mod then try to get it hosted here like others do. thats the best bet.

My youtube is only mildly more interesting. i remember when i used to force myself to open fl studio hoping one day i make a hit song. i remember id force myself to open 3ds max and other programs hoping to make a great 3d animation that would be worth the effort. I remember a lot of things I used to do on the computer that was a waste of time, lol. i sold my stupid setup and now just make mediocre youtube videos. im not a dreamer anymore.

those calico guns scare and confuse me

tried openra a few weeks ago. worst gaming experience ever. it was a modernized hud with horrible bastardized red alert changes and red alert to me is already dead and crap. they need to modernize the gameplay a lot more. shit was terrible. is rather play real normal red alert 1 than that.

I just added that feature (only for Red Alert 1) ive had newbs in tiberian sun a few times think it was a good idea to slow down the gamespeed which made me immediately quit. tiberian sun is never too fast. theres just something wrong with newbs to make them do that. usually people only change gamespeed to piss off other players or cause a sync error but theres a handful of newbs who like to touch it as well

The main reason why I say its dead is because renegade x usually only has 2 or 3 populated servers. factoring in that 2 of those are marathon servers which i dont like they usually are on field which lasts around a hour not being able to achieve anything lol until someone works up the balsl to vote for a map change. thats not fun to me. so yeah its possibly to find rooms to play in without marathon field going but there are some other maps i refuse to play on as well cause i dont find them fun. i still manage to get some games in but its on life support to me but it is still playable. i have the same issue with tribes ascend. most of the maps i refuse to play on. a lot of the servers restrict you by level so you cant join etc. you end up with only a couple of servers to play on and then you have to wait for good maps etc. waste of time.

I don't know where you are seeing these rude people at. I don't see it on the forums. I only play tiberian sun on this server and the only rude people ive met are xwis people who migrated over here. the red alert 1 people ive played on tiberian sun seem like the role playing type. but i dont play the other games here so i dont know how they are. but all im saying is if you compare this place to xwis then this play is way nicer from what ive experienced on xwis. the tiberian sun xwis community is very competitive and aggressive so if you are meeting them on tiberian sun just know odds are they are 99% xwis people who are all very vile by nature.
