  1. Make sure the projectile isn't arcing. That creates the artillery/cruiser innaccuracy logic on projectiles.
  2. It's debatable and based on preference. RA2 mainly consists of tanks as well, but the main difference is they auto-move and shoot while RA1 this is manually done. Production is more important in RA1 since you can't queue up multiple units, so clicking the tank icon as fast as possible is an important skill. I've played and watched both games i respect both skill sets needed to play them at a high level.

  6. hmm, that seems weird. Wait, you started off with a "harvester". That isn't possible unless there is preplaced units (a modded map for instance) I think what you are refering to is the MCV. First, select it, then left click it again.
  7. Thieves are actually very good on high money gem maps like HJK and V3-Rashodown, or Aftermath in the later stages of the game since you cannot spend all your money as fast. Mechanics are a very cost effective way to fix allied tanks and choppers in aftermath.
  8. From highest to lowest damage output Heavy Light Medium Mediums are the most cost effective though since their health is the same as heavy tank and cost-to-damage ratio is similar.
  9. as far as i know, countries are hardcoded. Thus you cannot change a counter to allied or soviet unless you modify the game.exe code.

  11. As far as i know it works with rules.ini entries. You can open a map file in notepad and paste all the rules.ini changes at the bottom of the file.

  16. i think would be cool to add blank units by default so you could then use the blank units in a mod map online or something like that. After all, there are added models like the Rocket tank implemented.

  19. I checked the triggers on one of the variants I played, one of the variants doesn't remove the Destroyed, Buildings, All...Germany! (so it had the bugged win condition) while the other one did so I went with the latter map choice.

  21. I'm not 100% sure but if your CPU usage is too high it may cause overheating in some systems with poor cooling, and/or cause a laggy performance if background programs are running (if you want to play music for example)

  23. Lets assume for a moment that you had a valid point. How would you expect this to be enforced? OpenRA developers post website and social media annoucements warning all our community members to avoid CnCNet, or risk being abused? The forum admins here add a word filter to block any posts related to OpenRA? They would do wonders for community relations, I'm sure. The wider C&C community is too small to be able to deal with that kind of bullshit. There is no reason why people can't follow, play, and enjoy both sets of CnCNet and OpenRA games. There's a forum clearly saying "Newer C&C games". But the OP decided to post it to the Red Alert forum instead which can potentially mislead people. Before posting a tournament, how about asking if cncnet would like to have OpenRA on their servers before thinking you (in general) have the liberty to promote tournaments. One step at a time. Regarding your two dotted points. You think slandering CnCNet community would help? No one is getting abused here. Don't use other peoples services to selfishly benefit your own. For your second point, you could simply not post non-Red Alert stuff on the original Red Alert forum, hence it got moved already. How does a tournament sign-up do wonders for community relations? You're using someones platform to promote your own brand in hopes of taking people away from this community. This isn't benefitting mutually in any way. People play OpenRA because it's a different game, I really don't see why that is hard to accept. Some like both, some don't. We don't have to like OpenRA.
  24. If somebody wants to advertise OpenRA at least do it on a site that has relevance to it. CnCNet specifically supports the original games and a few modded ones (mental omega) not OpenRA. I suggest the commander and conquer reddit as it is anything cnc related or realtimestrategy reddit. Rather than preaching about a Tournament that isn't relevant to any member on this forum. We look on CnCNet for classic cnc stuff, we'd look on the OpenRA forums for OpenRA stuff. Pretty simple.
