  1. Nice!!! I loved these maps when playing starcraft. (Dodge the Rapist) Happy to see it is now possible with C&C.
  2. Wow, the best of city building games and combat games combined. Nyerguds, do you have more of this paper? It says continued on page 3... Regarding the topic. OpenRA would be awesome. However, I think the game engine would have to be build up from scratch. Then every piece of the original game has to be copied somehow. That is an awful lot of work guys, who is planning on doing this?

    Making additional pylons... I mean topics about this, won't help you. Just use the ignore button If he joins YOUR game, kick him. If he returns under another account, then make screens of that. And still kick him. Kick >>> his time to have to rejoin under another name and search for your room. If he doesn't give up, turn the tables...??? You return under another account. You join his game. You go either in his team or you leave immidiately in game. When in his team, force fire his base. After force firing his base, call it karma. Then rejoin under another account. Repeat. Untill he posts about you on this forum. Or do some burns: And post those. If you are not that kind of person that is sort of "evil", then try this advice: Complement him on his endurance. And applaus him on his believe in karma. (if an admin asks, I will delete )

    I suggest you don't "befriend" players for a while. This sad person might already be in your friends list. If someone is constantly asking you about your personal life, you might have the one. Speaking from experience.

    Amen to that. If harvesters have trouble finding a refinery, build an extra refinery? Not just 1 extra harvester? I always have 3 harvesters for 2 refineries. Somehow that works best for me.
  9. A good map layout actually has about the same base layout for any player. Meaning that not only each has the same field. But each also approaches this field from the same direction. The rest of the map can be mirrored.

    Making infantry more useful: I will take into account that there will be more infantry rocks through the map. About 33-50% at each choke point? The side ways of an canyon passage? Also, several infantry only passages close to the start of a base corner. A map should be designed in such a way that infantry can go straight from one base to another, while vehicles have to drive around... a lot.

    Zoom function? One like in TA? Would be fun and cool and befitting Dune2000. But is not, I repeat, simply not possible. You need to rewrite the engine from scratch for that. We should be happy if the simpler requests are even possible. (I agree, Dune2000 >>> EBfD)

    Then go for certain, wall him out, then build some towers. Or simply tower him out. Didn't thought about the possibility of different sub cell effects. Will keep that in mind. But the chance for that happening is only substantial if the stealth tank is placed in a corner.
  14. hahaha, this game has many, many glitch abuse possibilities. But the limits are very low if you ask me. Can't someone make an adjustment and fixing the limits to a lower setting, yet for each player his/her own? I mean, there are games where you are limited to 90/100/200/150 units total. And some games count some units for 2, 3 or more points. You know, food/psi stuff. Even though, each unit in this game is going to be [ 1 ] . Just suggesting.

    Yeah, well, never had a manual with the word 'BLOOM'. And it popped, and the EVA in Dune2 called is baloom/baloon. We thought it was hard to hear because of the "crappy" sound card back then. btt: Any way, one more approach when creating these fields would be placing the 'BLOOM' in the first square that the harvester will harvest. This way, you already have a field to harvest while the 'BLOOM' builds up its spice.

  17. Wait wait wait, I did loose naval ships (other topic about this) Yet could not build new ones. Could it be that once the limit has been reached. It is disabled permanently?
  18. Ehm.... I had a lot of SC maps on my name 10 years ago, also hosted by others. But they are all gone now. (Well, I didn't put them on a site, nor back upped them all, my own mistake) Bottom line: It won't last forever If you want it to be more durable, you have to start creating single player missions. ( Oh man! I can tell stories about these adventures)
  19. Ok, I don't see the naval units specified in that list. How is it called? We all could still build tanks etc. So the total unit cap was not reached yet. The allieds do have something good themselves. And it can be abused easily. I will make good use of this knowledge now, mhuahahaha.
  20. Playing a spam map is one thing. Having a lots of lots of money is another. But then, naval was suddenly not possible for me any more. All naval, (see ... attachment?), was not available. Is this a glitch that I have yet to learn of?

    Then I will EXPERIMENT!!! O well, some one has to do it. Thin spice is worth 200 Thick spice is worth 400 A spice baloon first shows thin spice This is totally different from Red Alert! With the suggested amount in the post before. baloon+8thick+16 thin = 6600 baloon+8thick+20 thin = 7400 baloon+12thick+24 thin = 9800 baloon+12thick+32 thin = 11400 A valuable tactic would be harvesting the centre of your field. Thus activating the baloon right from the start. This will give a player that knows an advantage. I don't want that. I like to protect noobs from stuff like this. Perhaps it is better to simply place baloons right from the start. No other spice. At your main base, 2 or 3. The first harvester activates them. After a while, you could be using 2 harvesters. What you think?

    Just suggesting. Are you sure it is a perfect game? Just asking. Reason: 90% is always about how infantry is bad in these kind of games. Dune2000/ TD/ RA. I remember my friends saying this as well. One of the reasons: infantry does not heal. But then again, it could be spoilage by Blizzard.
  23. I wished I was only 20, so that I had all the free time. I did use to make RA maps as well. But that was 15 years ago. I think the problem here is that others don't know how to share the map. Or think that they can't share the map. With others games besides of RA, players are unaware that they could make maps.

    Stealth in TD? Amass Rifle Infantry for detection. You only need 1 for covering a 3x3 field. If the map is 63 x 63, you need about 441 Rifle Infantry. (at least, that used to be my tactic in the original game) If you rather use towers, make sure you know that if you can't place a structure, the unit(s) might be there.
