Going to test if that is possible

2. No, this is true what I said. I discussed it with other game designers. Perhaps you find them to weak. But they are supposed to be weak against infantry. Or else you have an unit that is "OP". Westwood/EA games decided, infantry is their weak point. But have you played all the other C&C games? In C&C Dawn they are even weaker where they only have 25 health instead of 50. Yet they do have a good impact on vehicles. Thus, if you think they should do more damage against vehicles, then I agree. 3. Grammar issue. But yes, I too have declared this somewhere on the forum. 6 Rifle infantry manage to kill 1 flame tank in TS when placed properly. Not an issue in Dawn or C&C3. 5. Page 3 of this topic.

Even more freedom of next mission choice than in EBfD. Also that if you leave a region alone for a while, this one slowly grows stronger and stronger. With a certain ammount, it attacks you instead! However, this requires a limit to your own regions in strength. A RISK like board if you will.

Obviously my mistake in not having short game activated, my first round. Only to learning of this option 5 days later. Thanks W32 Any way, the game prior to the real stuff, 1 week ago: I think this guy set up a patrol waypoint for 1 air unit in the upper left corner. Above water, where no hoover can reach, nor a SAM. I did see something going left/right/left/right. Thus the game never could end. To bad for him, I simply left and noted his name. Since I have no proof, I am not telling who it was. But this guy will have a hard time getting into my games from now on. Any way, this is a lesson to be learned. USE the option short game. This also removes any unwanted stealth hiding or infantry hiding. Nor will one hide under a bridge. Now that I think about it, EMP is a valid option

I don't get the component tower. This consumes time? Also, I rather build a ref instead of harv, and then simply sell the ref. Gives 1000 back and 5 infantry. So for only 1000 you have 1 harv and 5 infantry. I would keep the radar since it provides a little extra vision, if your opponent has an obvious color on the minimap. After tech, I keep spamming power plants and refs. Of course I also keep spamming Titans and Bombers. Towards tiberian fields. power ref ref (sell) ref (sell) ref power ref ref (sell) ref (sell) ref Etc. If my approach isn't any good. Tell me, ok?

Liking it so far. These days, you can do a lot of jokes with an old game. An overall story is intended? Do one with "attack on titan" ?? Or one where a flamethrower gets banned from any forum for flaming, every one telling him he is flaming people. And he is like, how do you know?

Tiberian Zombies You have those in Renegade.

Well, I am trying to become part of TS. But every player that joins my game, leaves during the game. So much for learning new tricks. Only this forum provides me with new stuff since I called TS imbalanced (provocation gives best results in responds, sorry ) Joining a game? Well, host leaves. I have tried 5 times. Until now (out of 6), only 1 game was played until the end.

1. Agreed. 2. No. Since it is a game. The reason why rockets do so less damage against infantry in almost any RTS is because in real life. They do overkill. 1 Rocket kills 1 soldier (or several with splash). This same rocket would also kill 1 tank. Since we are playing a game, and the simulation is that 1 rocket is overkill against infantry: each unit has health points. Let's say x10, then the soldier gets 1 damage each time, while a tank might get 5 damage (50 health instead of 10 health) 3. Flame Tanks are indeed a bit overpowered against infantry, the splash is overpowered. Not the weapon. 6 Rifle Infantry do have a good chance in beating 1 flame tank (TS version). But this is their purpose. But you are right if we are talking about damage against vehicles. Against light vehicles (that would run away anyway) the damage could have like +50%? However, EA-games decided that their flame units are good against structures. If you want flame based weapons that are good against light vehicles. Go play Starcraft or Warzone2100 or any other game that has this featured. 4. Perhaps Titans are a bit OP? 5. I find any air OP in TS. 6. Buggy 300 and Wolverine 400? 7. Like in C&C3? There they are one of the coolest weaponry. That includes the flame tank as well. 8. They are too expensive as well! 1850! FFS. Have you played C&C3? Because in that game, most units are balanced. Even the Recon Bike has a much better function in harvester/air raping.

I am not pro. But here is my $0,02. - Both houses: Place your landing pads right behind your defences. And put the air units on guard. They automatically help defending your base to a certain range. Only to be used when you are not planning an air assault on the enemy base. Does not work well on artillery, for this you still need to pull it off manually. - Both houses: Instead of guarding them with a pad. How about making that patrol instead. Make certain waypoints ready when your base is "complete". There where the drops are most common. Then send in just enough air units for dealing with the units in mind on that patrol. Be careful about AA units. - Both houses: Subterrain unit approaching? Mass pavement around your most important buildings if you don't have this yet. Flame tanks and Reapers for NOD as defence. "Even a cyborg commando is doomed" <--- can someone check this one?. When GDI, your only choice is to have some wolverines around for the engineers if you don't have turrets. I guess walls do come in handy. - GDI only: If there is one thing that is more anoying then dropping down MK2 or Disruptor. Then it is a couple of cheap juggernaughts. Quickly drop several around the enemy base, creating a chaos. About 10 at one time. Remember, this is a suicide attack for them. You can retreat the carryalls. Anyways, just target the outer structures. It will be very anoying for the enemy, and hard to spot them all and deal with them all before at least one structure bites the dust. The good thing about this is that you opponent is now occupied with distraction for your frontal assault if you have one ready. - NOD only: Make a stealthy road for your units. You know Also send one MCV through this stealthy road. Then amass SAM's close to the enemy. And amass Artillery+Obelisks. Enjoy! Don't forget another EMP cannon . Great for a surprize right before deploying your artillery.

Q is possible in tiberian sun as well? I thought it was only in RA. Practise time
-
Haha, well, NOD obvious has the mass rocket soldier choice. Infantry every where, good against disruptors, also good against the "slower" air units. Does not take away mass bombers, for that you still need SAM's. I love RPS discussions. The number of RPS that is out there and the combinations of it is astonishing. Discussing it always shows the unhappyness of some players. It also shows which units are very hard to learn too. For me it is still finding out what purpose the MRLS has, I guess guarding all waters. (ION Storm!) How would the 2 of you use the MRLS?
-
That is a good point. But would having some Obelisks of Light not give the same result? I know that having those costs energy. But then again, having plenty of SAM's, stops this dropdown as well. And the MK2 dropdown is also stopped. For all the air, your only choice is mass SAM's. And if they need to move in from afar, then you have your banchee's to protect you in early advantage. They are 2 times faster and don't get counter damage. The micro of the Bike is to slow for saving the targeted one from dying. Thus a lucky Disruptor manages to kill 2. This is almost 100% efficiency. If they ignore your bikes however, then I agree that they are the best choice. PS. What if they drop multiple disruptores at several points in your base? The so called chaos attack?
-
That is, IF they get a chance to. I always consider every strategy a possibility based on the behaviour of your opponent. Sure they are good against structures, if they aren't killed by defensive structures that are standing around. Sure they are good against infantry, if they line up for you. Practically speaking, this tank alone is rather useless. Sorry to say that, but it is true Infantry is rare when every one has the best tanks. And each base is well fortified. But as said before, the reaper is a good addition. It stops infantry in their tracks, then the flame tank can do its job better.
-
Every useless unit is good for humiliation. I often used mass infantry, just for the fun of it. Victims do not dear to speak of their last 15 minutes (since infantry takes so long to destroy a base) I also tried out the flame tank, is it just me? Or is this tank weak as well? 1 even looses to 6 rifle infantry when they are spread out.
-
Someone suggested using the recon bikes for dealing with disruptor tanks. So I decided to test this out. Even though the first 3 got emp'ed and dealt with. I decided to see what happens when 3 disruptor tanks don't get emp'ed. That... didn't go to well. Disk Throwers, aren't they a little bit too overpowered? A good (and obvious) combination that I didn't use for a long time seems to be useful in multiplayer. Reapers + Flame Tanks. Huray! This beats Disk Throwers.

Nyerguds and FunkyFish, both got me here. And no spam here means that the community is rather mature in that regard. I bet most of us are older decent guys by now that grew up with C&C. The 15-20 year old kids however still spam and flame on each other. Somehow they think it is amusing.

Why is every one looking forward? I already have seen penguins of madagascar. I already have seen all 3 of the hobbit movies. However, I do look forward to minions. Yeah, I like anime too. But only the good ones with a proper story. I hate, I repeat, I hate fillers that are implemented as "cannon". Only use fillers when they are clearly filler, and only do this limited. Not a complete season FFS! This killed Naruto for me in the anime.

I am a fan of 3D animations like Penguins of Madagascar or Shreck. The movies that is. Series as spin off of these movies are often bad or lack the humor of the movies. If you like to have a great evening with lots of laughing, please go to youtube and search for Honest Trailers. The best ones are those movies you already have seen.

Don't worry, I am here to help spamming topics if you want.

Better to have a reserve war factory, pad, barracks then.

I have seen many, many different fogs of war. 1. It is black, you explore, it keeps explored. Most C&C games. 2. It is black, you explore, it slowly re-shrouds into black. An extra choice on the original RA skirmish. 3. It is black, you explore, it becomes grey and only the terrain is visible. An extra choice on the original TS skirmish. Most blizzard games have this. 4. It is explored but only the terrain is visible. Same as 3. 5. Everything is already explored. Other games like warzone2100, EBfD and C&C3 allow the host to even choose one of the above. Now looking at number 3. It is for that purpose that the limpet drone is introduced. However, the choice is there in cncnet, but it doesn't work yet. Once it works, it is like the original game. That is why I suggested that. The only extra that I suggest is to give it +2 vision.

Nice glitch What happens if it gets destroyed instead? Tech also stays?
-
Of course it is eternal. But if this community would communicate about what they find imbalanced. Than gradually a balance can be implemented. If the wolverin and nod buggy are indeed to weak for taste. Simply add 10% more damage? And keep adding damage/health until the unit is used enough. These small changes also occured for starcraft. And you know how well known the game is. One central server observing the usage of all units. And only implement a change if it contains hardly used combat units. My first input would be, return of the fog of war. Limpet drone, vision +2, in field and on a targeted unit. Because this unit is not used due to not having use.

Makes much more sense.
