What do you mean "you're all out of ideas"? What would you like to use the programmable keys for? And, just for the record. I used to have a Logitech G19 keyboard 7 years ago (eventually spilled a protein shake all over it) and stopped using it. I got a new Cherry Keyboard without programmable keys. Meanwhile I actually completely disassembled and cleaned the G19 and it works but I don't like the typing feel to it anymore, feels like I've actually damaged the keys by pulling them out also I've lost 2 keys, l0l. There's this "Logitech Gaming Software" which you can program the keys with. 1 WORD OF WARNING: Joshua "DistantQ" Pemberton once called me a cheater for using that and he still calls me a cheater for it 7 years later... =D You can for example assign text input to a key, such as G1 types "gl hf" and sends it and G2 types "gg" and sends it, G3 types "no eat?" and sends it and so on. You could also use them for grouping, assign CTRL+1, CTRL+2 and/or CTRL-SHIFT to the G-keys. Do you need to know how to do it or do you need ideas? Logitech Gaming Software also lets you use Lua scripts so the possibilities are virtually endless with what you can do if you know how to use it. But again, you risk being called a cheater by extremists like Josh (rumblesom) on S-T. EDIT: I believe Marko uses something similar, as he's able to scroll the screen while his mouse is on the sidebar clicking buildings/units/sentries and so on. You can see him do this scrolling without using his mouse pretty much every game on stream, so I'd assume he's using the G-keys with his left hand. You can see this here if you look closely: https://www.twitch.tv/omituinen/v/81194925?t=35m36s Also it's a different and "soft" scrolling as opposed to his much faster right click drag scrolling. But there's a lot more examples if you watch his streams regularly.

Eating what? You can't eat Candice Accola. Some girls fake it, sorry she doesn't. Some girls take it, but you know that she won't. She reserves the right, no shirt, no shoes, no dice. Her service ain't for everyone. Some guys love her, but most of them don't 'cause she can be stronger, when some girls won't. You thought you had her figured out. 'Til she ditched you with the crowd. Now you know she's not like some girls. -

Just absolutely zero respect. :ranting:

People that use other peoples nicknames get and have no respect (for anything or anyone) not even for themselves, whatsoever.

I'm happy that you're happy.

The designers design the units, the developers program them in. Quit nitpicking. The units are dictated by their code, and someone with enough coding skills (relatively low in RA2) to have them in the game. They don't come from the clouds, you know. Talking about quitting nitpicking? A bit hypocritical, are we? You don't have to have any "coding skills" to create new units. BECAUSE UNITS ARE NOT "PROGRAMMED". This just doesn't seem to go into your head. Units are made out of properties such as HP, a warhead and some voxels but not "code". There is no "super-high bonus for Spies". A Spy costs 1000 $ and grinding it gives you 900 $.
-
Uh, yeah? How do you "program" in units? No single unit is programmed into RA2 nor YR. The only thing that doesn't check out for Tanya and Spy is the "Infantry units can be sent into the Cloning Vat and destroyed. This will give you a small amount of credits in return." Because there's no way to mark clones as clones and make them worth less.
-
And you "know" this because...? Because of... common sense. The soylents for Tanya and Spy used to be a lot higher, they lowered them (though I'm not sure when) either when RA2 went into production or in 1.006. The developers don't have jack shit to say about this. It's the game designers that are responsible for designing the maps/units.
-
CnCNet could easily "fix" this in their RA2 mode. It's not such a big deal, lowering the Spies Soylent to 450 and Tanya's Soylent to 500. It's not like you capture those units on a regular basis so it wouldn't make a difference to regular play. Except those going for cloning would waste a whole lot of money before they realize that they're not making any profit.
-
It's not really overlooked. The idea is that when you capture a Tanya or a Spy with a Yuri in RA2 and then grind it you will get more money (almost the price of the original unit cost for Spy and I think 100 % for Tanya). It's a bonus/reward for capturing a dangerous or hard to spot unit. The thing is, when you're at the point of owning both Allied + Soviet MCV and your opponent lets you build both Allied Tech + Soviet Tech + Cloning Vats and you can produce your own Tanyas/Spies and grind them, you can make money with that but perhaps (not always) you've already won the game anyway. But it's still a chore clicking 20 Tanyas and then grinding them, considering you will not be able to build any other infantry in that time (such as Rocketeers) and you will most likely need multiple Barracks to produce them fast enough. Perhaps it would be a good idea to lower the Soylent for those two unit so that they can't be cloned and ground for "unlimited money". [TANY] UIName=Name:TANYA Name=Tanya Cost=1000 Soylent=1000;1500 [sPY] UIName=Name:SPY Name=Spy ;locked Cost=1000 Soylent=900;2000 This is where the problem is. Cloned Tanyas make you +1000 while cloned Spies still make you +800.

Yes but the instance only anymore has health, location and few other properties including a reference to the Building/Vehicle/Aircraft/Unit/Infantry-Type. There's no point in copying things that don't change over and over. Even Westwood wasn't nearly as daft as to do that.
-
Yes, Plokite_Wolf, that is exactly how TS, RA2 and YR work. The FPS is decided by the player with the slowest computer and I'm usually the one with the faster computer. Whereas I have to mention that RA2 on "Game Speed" set to 6 has a cap on 59 FPS: http://xwis.net/ra2/prev/pl/siralex/ Game Speed 6 <= 59 FPS Game speed 5 <= 49 FPS Game Speed 4 <= 39 FPS Game Speed 3 <= 29 FPS Game Speed 2 <= 19 FPS Game Speed 1 <= 9 FPS More FPS = faster game Less FPS = slower game That's why I wonder if they perhaps reused (parts of) the old YR engine? O_o

Walls are way under used in RA2/YR. Only at the very top they reappear in high skill level play. They are very useful for protecting buildings such as Iron Curtain or Nuclear Power Plant. That being said, you can probably also wall a Battle Fortress without adverse effects on its operation as well as Prism Tanks and Towers. -

Well yeah, Battle Bunkers. What if France moves to middle on Heck Freezes Over? The whole Allied faction is a single massive Battle Bunker. -
Uh, oh. What does that mean?! O_o So it is like TS/RA2/YR? I don't get what you mean. XD Maybey they used the old YR engine!? :O :heady:

Knowing Adam, I would not say that it is "for no apparent reason".

It doesn't really matter that much which faction gets middle on Heck Freezes Over. It just boils down to gems being twice as valuable as normal ore, thus doubling income. If the Allied players mines middle in Heck Freezes Over then what should the Soviet do? No amount of skill or "careful" will save the Soviet here. He should just give up because the game's over at this point. -
You guys are failing to see the point that there is absolutely no point to have it defined per building. Much rather it's defined per BuildingType, as I said in my first post; BuildingTypes, note, plural. What use does it have if an already placed building has some sort of unique Adjacency? It's not like you can move already placed buildings...

That's not the point. To stop a rush you have to place Sentry Guns / Pill Boxes. It doesn't matter if you have Grizzly Tanks or Rhino Tanks (they're equal for the price) but for stopping a "true" rush you will still need to place down at least 1 base defence. Other than that, good post though! Uh, and BTW I was RaNk #2 last month on XWIS RA2 (unfortunately RaNk #1 was a bailer who pushed to get there): http://xwis.net/ra2/prev/pl/siralex/ Out of 70 games I've had the pleasure of only versing The Allied Faction 8 times. It's kind of a common courtesy thing to battle games out using the same faction. And Soviet takes the most skill to battle with tanks, because that's all they have.
