Run the game as administrator at the first time.

I reinstalled, ran as administrator, now it says "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)". The top of the error window reads "GAME.ICD - Application Error".

The videos are two files at 1.35 GB combined so it's a pretty heavy download.

You can try to download them with a web browser using these links.

But what's the point of that if you can't get the game to run properly?

Also can you try and do this command in cmd and see if it finds something? sfc /scannow

The blue and yellow shield is there because it's set to run as administrator.

What I'm starting to think that there might be a firewall or anti virus messing with the download, but if everything else of a similar size downloads fine then that isn't the case.

By the way did you try the XWIS download Funky linked to? See if that works.

yeah it worked but the whole reason was kinda to get firestorm. if i wanted to play the original, i'd just pop in the disk. i don't want to seem picky or ungrateful or anything.

yes, try to install the pack from here and then copy the xwis installation over it. If it doesn't work then also try it the other way around, install the xwis one and copy the files from cnc-comm pack over it
