Orca Assault

Mission Description

-------------------

Utilize the newly developed 'ORCA' air support unit to destroy the NOD

technology center in this area.  Take out their main base to gather

intellegence of its location.  Steer clear of anti-air threats and they

should pose a minimal challenge to you.

Another of my 'Tiberian Dawn for Pros' missions originally meant to replace GDI

mission 10 (the Orca mission.)  I wanted one where you actually have to build

Orcas to survive, although it's probably possible to beat it without them. ;)

Just want to say that this mission is impossible. Nod blows up your harvester, Apaches drain your money, you can't get to tiberium without getting attacked by turrets. The only way to beat this is cheats, or some ungodly skill.

I felt that way about the original campaign originally. Then I felt that way about the Covert Ops. I can beat them all together in under a day, now.

 

It all comes down to practice.

This is what I felt trying to do GDI 10, NOD 11 (both variants) and the mission NOD Death Squad

 

adding a small extra for allied mission 13 from RA1, still can't do that one without cheating ¬_¬

Nice map and mission. Took me a few tries to get a foot on the ground (without getting roasted by the two flamethrower tanks), but once you got your base up and the perimeter secured, it's a piece of cake.  :P

 

Suggestion: A few more SAM sites might make the Orca attack more difficult (another 1 or 2 at the north end of the NOD base and another one between the main base and the outpost on the hill top?)

lol. Everyone here is posting "wahh, it's too hard", then you come along saying "You could do this to make it harder" :D

Grove's bringing all these dead posts back into the spotlight, showing me missions I never saw before. :P

This is a tough mission to get into, the intro is brutal. I agree with everybody else though, the pace slows down once the players gets their base established and secures the perimeter. Very well made map, unique, challenging and fully functional. A+
