  1. Hahaa. I just found one of the filenames - it's "heliup1.aud"
  2. Chimas: You didn't change the Name= of the first mission to the campaign name, though
  3. Kaspro: follow the instructions above, and upload that .dmp file here.
  4. These games use remapping SHP files and voxels! "slightly better graphics" would be tons of work! O_o
  5. I was being sarcastic. C&C1 supported 6 player LAN from the very first DOS release. They just chose to artificially limit it to 4 players. And the involved network protocols work perfectly fine for 6 players. In fact, I don't think they ever changed much between C&C1 and RA2. In other words, that step is completely nonsensical; their engine could already do that.
  6. You know, 1.06c supports campaigns as one item in the New Missions menu, by using the EA/EB/EC/ED/EE / WA/WB/WC/WD/WE / XA/XB/XC/XD/XE suffixes of the misssons
  7. Yeah... I've tried to be somewhat lenient with it, but as you see, Matt, I'm clearly not the only one that's bothered by it.
  8. Heh, yeah. Their replays system is probably one of the oldest in the game industry (well, quite definitely the oldest on RTS ), but it was never properly implemented it seems.

  10. MrFlibble recently gave me a document with some really interesting development background surrounding Dune II. No actual timeline, but the way they clashed with Cryo was certainly interesting. Whoever made it did a ton of interviews with the original devs, and looking at the stuff they mention, they did it fairly recently, too. I uploaded it here: http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/manuals/Dune II/ Document is (obviously) the "Insider's Guide".
  11. It really isn't. You didn't even give any suggestions, you just said "Oh, we've done that in OpenRA". Which doesn't even use RA's mission scripting system.
  12. Ohhhh lol xD That is such a wrong way to shorten that.
  13. Yeah. I got that. It's a 2-disk edition, one disk being the normal RA soundtrack (though, without the Surf No Mercy bonus track), the other is music from other artists. As for that helicopter sound... open the DOS C&C sounds.mix with XCC mixer. There's a 13 mb version of the DOS GDI CD (I stripped the vids and music) on my site, here: http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/isos/GDI-DOS-lite.rar
  14. ...how the heck is Tiberian Sun "CNC5"? O_o
  15. I have no idea how it works in RA1
  16. Here you go. http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cncstuff/cctxt/ccmanual.txt Read EVERYTHING in the Waypoints, Triggers, Celltriggers, Teamtypes and Trigger Examples entries. ALL of it. For further examples, see the official missions. As for your current problem, you probably didn't activate the Production trigger. It causes the AI to start producing stuff. You can't really avoid the game using existing units to make teams, mind you; that's just the way teams work. The only thing you can do is make them non-recruitable for team creation, by putting them on Area Guard.
  17. Seems the folder isn't blocked http://tore29.com/tsins/
  18. Ah, yup, that's the one
  19. Because it's not a bug, it's a missing logic that would handle it in a smarter way. Oh, you mean all units reverting to it in MP? Uh, I dunno. Never really looked into it. That map is one of the few that has problems with it. (the other is Village of the Unfortunate, but that one only has civilians attacking, so it's not that bad)
  20. Ugh, I know... should get around to that sometime in the future -_-
  21. Neat! How is about an hour in any way "short 'n' sweet?", though
  22. Nope. I probably can't beat you
  23. Sadly, Tiberian Sun's "-win" only works in 16-bit colour mode, which Win8 doesn't have. Two notably missing features in ddwrapper are windowed mode and frame rate limiting, though windowed mode is excusable since most old fullscreen games never bothered correcting the 0,0 offset for their mouse position, making them unplayable in windowed mode since the mouse position would be wrong unless it's put in that upper left corner. Cnc-DDraw does some extra hacks to correct that.
  24. No, but that pic's lighting doesn't stroke with C&C-era renders. That's a photo all right. [edit] It looks like a bit of a cross between a Russian BA-64 and a German Sd.Kfz.222... more like the German one, actually. That thing seems to have had a lot of variants made of it. (In fact, the Russian BA-64 is based on a captured Sd.Kfz.222 XD)
  25. I felt that way about the original campaign originally. Then I felt that way about the Covert Ops. I can beat them all together in under a day, now. It all comes down to practice.
