  1. Didn't know the guy, but still, may he RIP.
  2. No. Why would anyone have a problem with that? No. Unless, maybe, we get a consistent YR patch based on the 1.002 UMP by Marshallx. Not as important as stability and compatibility. It would be cool to have, though. Leave RA2 to RA2, please. It'll be easier for everyone. That would be interesting to test, but I think it'll spawn even bigger imbalance. I don't find this necessary. The game tries to spawn players symetrically, and this logic was inherited in subsequent C&C games. If you're playing on an 8-player map with only one opponent, you know exactly where he is even without the loading screen display.
  3. CnCNet - Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert/Aftermath, Tiberian Sun/Firestorm, Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge (v4, v5 WIP), Dune 2000, several mods Completely new lobby similar to LAN mode, sets matches up before starting the game, IRC chat. C&C:Online - Generals/Zero Hour, Tiberium Wars/Kane's Wrath, Red Alert 3. Imitation of GameSpy-powered servers that were shut down on 17 July 2014. Completely different teams.
  4. Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert 1 (latest fan versions, ofc) seem to work with Fraps. Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 require CamStudio (you might have to Google a way to record audio from the computer instead of the mic, the native support for that is broken) or HyperCam. Fraps doesn't seem to work with them. Not sure about Camtasia. All later C&C games work fine with Fraps, OBS and XSplit (the latter two require windowed mode).
  5. Um, if using such tools to extract data is illegal, EA would've been all over their creators ages ago. And wouldn't have praised the modding community at all as they did in the EALA days.
  6. Need I remind you, Nyer, that a very large part of C&C tracks doesn't exist in a disc form? The iTunes version of the RA3 soundtrack is somewhat different than the one in the Premier Edition, but it still doesn't have them all
  7. Not bad, simple and modern-looking, but the TD interface imitation is part of this site's charm
  8. Yeah, 3D from the mid-90s looks so terrible today. Remember MDK 1 models?
  9. CnCNet 4 supported vanilla RA2 and YR as well. You just needed a no-CD for that, which is a bit gray...
  10. I suppose you got EA's official release of the game? The one that was ripped from The First Decade? If so, did you run the registry update file and did you place the game EXACTLY in C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade\Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun\SUN ? Anyway, a much easier solution is getting this instead: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=41

  12. My posters Too bad the TW one got a bit torn when I had to take it down to have my room repainted It still stands "fixed" and proud in my new room The RA2 one only had its full render rediscovered recently on the Internet. Before that, I could only see the wallpaper-formatted bottom half.
  13. If it were the real Westwood RA logo, I wouldn't have made that remark, because that'd be tolerable. I know from experience that anything that has assets from a different mod that is not authorised for use by its author (or noted as free-to-use by the author on sites like YRArg, PPM or RA-Archive) is questioned by the modding community. Using a single unit from someone else without asking got so many mods nuked without the viewers even bothering to check out the rest of it (though many of them were meant to steal, but that's another story). Ask any experienced modder. The original RA logo isn't problematic. The TRA logo is. Using a logo or an unreleased asset of, say, Twisted Insurrection would get you in even bigger trouble. You wouldn't need to. Nobody makes mods for profit, that's true, but asset "borrowing" isn't quite praised in the C&C community. I'm not saying your mod is bad, but anyone who'd stumble upon it could express lack of interest for the reasons I've described to you.
  14. Um, why do you use the The Red Alert logo by CnCLabs?
