  1. Guys, unfortunately, due to the lack of activity on this forum, this idea will not currently work. We need to work on getting the community together.
  2. More thought on it would be: Best of 3 series (winner only needs 2 victories), 32 players, single elimination. First map in series likely as basic as possible: Dune or Blood Feud (seems to be what people play nowadays, to give everyone the highest chance of competiting) Second map more classic QM map like (Offense Defense, DMZ, CS, Heartland, and so forth) Third and final map a more complex one to give this 'tiebreaker' game to the more elite player (heck TvT or something) I see no problem with allowing france, I do not think France would be a good choice in this tournament on most scenarios.
  3. This thread is only meant to gear interest. We need to get these forums and community more in touch! 1. Maps would be simple, classic maps determined at another time. 2. Broadcasts would be very much welcomed, but the goal of the tournament would be to get games going quickly with low stress on the players (ie. not having to go through the trouble to find some1 to stream, potential lag issues, etc.) The easy way to resolve issues would be for players to take SS's of their wins. 3. Cool, that'd be awesome. Let's see if we can get enough interest in this.
  4. Hi all, I am wondering if there is interest in participating in a 32 man single elimination, best of 5 tournament on yuris revenge. The idea behind this tournament is to keep it simple and produce a champion of champions. 1on1 bracket randomly determined, 32 competitors. Tournament games do not need to be broadcasted or streamed, we go off the honor system. (although streaming is always best and SS's would be taking each game for further proof and championship series would of course be broadcasted). No yuri faction allowed, just a simple competitors QM-esque tournament bracket. If there is a good amount of interest in this, I will set it up. There will be no reward for the winner other than bragging rights.
  5. lmfao, this post made me LOL. On Ra2/YR this shit happens ALL the time. Worse thing is when host has the FPS set to 30 FPS instead of 60 FPS. Like DA FUCK you thinking son! The shits laggy as it.
  6. Good incentive M4trix! A good idea might be to try some 2on2 matches with them and guide them with beacons etc. or set up a strategy with them pre-game so they know what to do. Something like telling them to get their oils, help you rush with a few annoying rockies etc. Cheers, good luck!
  7. I don't play too often now that I am in school, but my gamertag is iWin4Prep. I usually play Rocket League with the gf when I'm on. Or Final Fantasy XV by myself. Or rarely something like Battlefield or Halo classics
  8. The finalized tournament is found here: http://challonge.com/yuri2on2 Congrats goes out to Buffalo and Justin for their domination. A huge thank you goes to Auf Ruler for seeing this thing through. Amazing consistency and resiliency to work with all involved. Really impressive dedication, Joe. Even tho we had some issues at times with competitors and time constraints, all competitors were mostly cordial and friendly to everyone in the tournament. That is nice to see. Cheers all. Here's hoping the community can come together for more events in the future!
  9. Any update on ladder progress? This guy is ripe for a ladder and clan system. I see everyday 100-300 people on and a ton of so-so to decent players who are actively playing. A clan system would be the second coming of jesus christ to this game right now. (i.e. it would help them get better and more addicted to the game, ensuring future success!)
  10. I'm not trying to be a douche and de-rail this thread as I agree that the badge/point system was a LOT of fun and certainly made me addicted to this game, however, what you are saying is simply not true. The only badge that had some sort of high reputation involved with it was the 3* blue badge for achieving 1001 points or more in a given month. Achieving 501 points for the 1* blue badge was certaintly an expected thing for someone who had any skill at the game to achieve. I remember countless times people would ask me to play on their nickname to get them 501 points badge, or people would push to achieve the badge (push meaning give free wins to get the badge), so the blue 1* badge had a very shotty reputation on these fronts a lone. Ultimately, as stated before, it all was dependent on how much activity there was in a given month. That is the equalizer. My guess is that they do not have the code for this. The badge system depended on a different lobby / set up. CNCNet does not even have an active ladder yet. However, they do have the trial ladder that ran in November (i think) : https://ladder.cncnet.org/#/yr . This is likely (my guess) the ladder style of the future. I'm not sure if they can or will implement a badge system in lobby, but that would make the lobby a much neater place to be.
  11. The badge system worked as the following : *Numbers are fictional* 100 points : soldier 1 stripe 200 points : corporal 2 stripes 300 points : sergeant 3 stripes 400 points : lieutenant 1 square 500 points : captain 2 squares 500 points : colonel 3 squares 700 points : general 1 star 850 points : general 2 star 1000 points: general 3 star aka supreme commander ( like shepard from gdi) It was a monthly ladder wich reset every 1st of the month. You had every month the chance to get points as high possible thru quickmatch (ranked matches) and by the end of the month you would get that badge and KEEP it. If the next month you would do less your badge would still remain aka no demotion would occur. But by keep playing you would get better and eventually have a better badge next to your name. Thus this means that it was very representative to see how good or bad or average someone was. It didnt matter if you played 24/7 you would not reacha certainn badge if you werent on that level. It was a very rewarding system and a great achieving factor to reach certain badges. It would reflect your grow as a player. In battlefield games for example everyone reaches lvl 99 at some point. Even the biggest noob that never had a positive score ingame. Just by time you would get there. In the RA2/YR system you would only get there thru skill. You would play everyone for example : If you were number 1000 on the rank and you would play rank 1... in case you the #1000 would lose you would lose like 1-5 points but if you would win you would get 300 points. The points here are withdrawed / added from the pool of points the opponent has. Decent representation of the system however I'd like to point out a few corrections. First, the +/- of points depended only on the amount of points each player has/had. It did not depend on rank. This meant that, if rank 1 had 200 points and you had 0 points, you were set to win something like 50 points. There was an algorithm that determined it better than what I can explain, but the maximum amount of points that could be won in ANY scenario was 64 points. The minimum was 1. Similiarly, the maximum points that could be lost was 64 and minimum was 1. The algorithm worked out really well. This is not quite 100% true. It was a pretty nice system, but it depended directly on how populated the server was. If there was 100,000 players playing in a month, getting 500 points was relatively easy. (just think of the % of newbs out of 100,000 players would be = more easier points). If there was only 100 elite players playing, then it was substantially more difficult to reach higher point levels. So, in short, badges really weren't a great representation of skill... but they were *a* representation of experience/skill. In any event, they made the YR Lobby an awesome place to be and made the game FUN. It was FUN fighting for badges. One badge that has long been retired is the 'coop' badge. The Coop badge was giving for completing the 4 various coops that came with Yuris revenge. Once you completed all 4 of them, you would get the badge. IT was a fun idea.
  12. As a small update -- Gunman/Ankarar have moved on in the second bracket. We need Adam/Expand vs. Insaiyan's team to compete within this week or will just disqualify both teams.
  13. UJast team has moved on over Alexeyk and Reptoh. Thank you for participating in the tournament Alexeyk and Reptoh. Ujast and Cruzer will now face Ankarar and Gun_Man.
  14. Thanks for the games guys. Bracket has been updated. Buffalo/Justin, you await the winner of the losers bracket... which, might take some time. As for the losers bracket, let's get this going. I'm going to likely be putting a deadline on the first round loser bracket matches up soon.
  15. Also, since this is the semi-finals and a highly anticipated match up, it would be great if we could find a scheduled time that works well in advance. I am thinking that the best possible time will be this upcoming weekend. ZigZag/Andy/Buffalo/Justin try to find a time that works for all players. It seems ZigZag is the odd man out here being from a different country. Buffalo/Justin/Andy seem to be on late USA times which would be very early morning ZigZag time (I think). If we can get a scheduled time well in advance, we can gather more people to enjoy the live stream!
  16. Excellent, thanks guys for the games! The bracket now reflects the results. The Semifinals will be between ZigZag/Andy vs. Buffalo/Justin. The losers bracket needs to pick up momentum! I know we've had contact with Adam for games sometime this week.
  17. After a long couple of days, ZigZag and Andy move on over Korc and Nawb with a score of 5-3. ZigZag and Andy awaits the winner of Justin/Buffalo vs. Ank/Gun_Man, while Korc/Nawb await the winner of XWIS Adam/Expand vs. Insaiyan/Pablo. Thanks all for the games, some excellent gameplay there. Games were streamed to AuF ruler.
  18. Yes, from my understanding, all parties involved have agreed to continue on as if the games yesterday did not occur. The brackets now reflect this agreement and we will have games in a couple of hours.
  19. It's not his fault at all. However, when a member of the team sabotages the tournament that is an issue for everyone involved. This was not a case where one simply got another mate (which is the wrong thing to do in of itself), but rather, he used impersonation to mislead his opponents/those watching as well. Unfortunately, the best route to go is to disqualify the team of ZigZag + Andy. We will be looking/taking replacement options for that spot now. Please leave the conversation out of this topic from here on out.
  20. Well, not we got apparent proof that Zig/Andy's team deliberately corrupted the tournament... Eh. I had a feeling that that was the case. I'll ask the teams to not play today as we likely have a disqualification coming.
  21. Hm. Seems like there has been some massive issues. What is important is that both teams are OK with where things are at. As it stands, we have a 3-1 series. If ZigZag/Andy would like to dispute this and Grant finds that ZigZag was being impersonated, I think there is no choice other than restarting the series. However, being that this is a team tournament, it befuddles me how Andy did not know that this ZigZag was being impersonated. (In the future, teams should do a better job of communicating to each other to make sure this doesn't happen...)
  22. Everything seems to be in order. Korc/Nawb vs. ZigZag/Andy scheduled for continuation tomorrow with the score currently 3-1 in favor of Korc/Nawb. Maps played being: . Thanks guys.
  23. Nice, all. ZigZag and Andy moves on over uJast and Nemi. We should have the final matchup of the first round later today and all teams can work on their second round matchups. ZigZag and Andy You await the winner of Korc/nawb vs. the Russians. uJast and Nemi You guys await the loser of Korc/nawb vs. the Russians. We also are looking to have buffalo/justin vs. Gun_man+Ank on for tonight! Busy day of streams.
  24. Cool. I'll talk with Joe (who can likely be a streamer for this). It would ideally be played on Saturday. Sunday would be an option too. We will try and contact uJast and Nemi.
