TaxOwlbear Posted December 12, 2015 Author Posted December 12, 2015 I'm sorry about that, but I hate that mission.
MattAttack Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 sigh.... 9 minutes I will never get back....
TaxOwlbear Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 Let's play what is probably the trickiest of the PSX mission. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kla561ncZWI Alternative link.
TaxOwlbear Posted December 20, 2015 Author Posted December 20, 2015 Here's the infamous PADSUX mission: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Euxr7fsNOM Alternative link.
X3M Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Can you do that last mission without casual casualties?
TaxOwlbear Posted December 21, 2015 Author Posted December 21, 2015 I could... probably by zapping everything with the Ion Cannon or by mircomanaging the orcas better. That doesn't sound like all that much fun, to be honest.
X3M Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 True, no one likes that map any way. It looks like a simple map created in a map editor.
TaxOwlbear Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 I know, I know, I bombed the lab. But it was an accident! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jLMe_T1aQY Alternative link.
AchromicWhite Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 lol 8:00, 1 medium tank or a few rocket men would have changed that situation 100% xD
TaxOwlbear Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 But I took revenge by bombing the lab! Even though it was an accident.
TaxOwlbear Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 I think I'll do this mission the proper way at one point.
TaxOwlbear Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 Time for some tatcial action with Nod: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWiV9OZcgpg Alternative link.
Nyerguds Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Trees, unlike walls, are valid targets to your units. If a unit tries to get somewhere and they perceive the tree as blocking their path, they attack it. Even if, y'know, in case of flame tanks, that only leaves a completely invincible burnt tree skeleton behind
TaxOwlbear Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 I didn't even know that. Then again, I don't think there are many maps that have trees placed like that (with a vehicle being unable to go around them) or they are groups of trees which IIRC can't be destroyed.
TaxOwlbear Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 The last N64 Special Ops mission is pretty straightforward: MURDER EVERYONE. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WX9X9aGP6E Alternative link.
Nyerguds Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 The only way to get Orcas as Nod is to capture the actual GDI helipads and produce them from that. It's exactly like the war factories in RA1.
X3M Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I enjoyed that last video a lot. On certain structures, the NOD Apache is a better choice.
TaxOwlbear Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 Yeah, sometimes the Orca just buzzes around and then it's out of ammo already. When I re-played RA1, I found the Apache/Hind to be surprisingly effective. In the campaign, I prefer Hinds over MiGs because they take less space and are less of a pain to manoeuvre.
Nyerguds Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I believe helis in RA1 have some kind of maximum range though; move them further away from the pad and they refuse. Not sure if that's a bug or not.
TaxOwlbear Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 That could be true. Sometimes chopper seem to fly towards a target, but refuse to actually shoot it. I think I coul fix that with having them land somewhere before the attack.
X3M Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I believe helis in RA1 have some kind of maximum range though; move them further away from the pad and they refuse. Not sure if that's a bug or not. I noticed this as well. Big chunks of my armada simply returns home after flying a while. But they only do this if the targeted unit is not completely free from under the shroud. Attacking ground however is possible. But from there onwards to the same half shrouded unit still sends a lot back to the heli-pad. Why does this happen? Why are the planes not influenced by this?
