Chad1233 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I think the function is somewhat bugged... if you capture the naval yard it nukes you but if you build a naval yard or destroy it the mig doesn't do anything.... I also use to sit forever in the mission long time ago and the Nuke Mig would eventually just nuke me till i'm dead probably because it's two main missions was destroying buildings and units and all i had was my little base for it to take out.
TaxOwlbear Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 Huh, the naval yard? That's a peculiar trigger. But yea, I remember them bombing the hell out of that captured outpost. That's what I remember, hence I planed to spam AA guns to bring it down.
TaxOwlbear Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 Volkov is almost as overpowered as the Nuke MiG, with the distinct difference that he's on your side. Soviets Mission 5: Soviet Solider Volkov & Chitzkoi
TaxOwlbear Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 Well, he gets severely gimped in Aftermath.
TaxOwlbear Posted May 24, 2016 Author Posted May 24, 2016 Turns out it's pretty chilly at the top of the world. Also, how comes we don't have winter equipment? Soviets Mission 6: Top o' the World
donaldtruck Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I thought the mouse was an improvement over the controller? not really
TaxOwlbear Posted May 26, 2016 Author Posted May 26, 2016 A personal favourite of mine. Everything gets nurpled up, even though the modifications favour the Allies. Soviets Mission 7: Paradox Equation
Jacko Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Loved that mission. Glad to see you went and smashed everything instead of just rushing the Chronosphere. Also for future note: Tesla weaponry shred through trees.
TaxOwlbear Posted May 26, 2016 Author Posted May 26, 2016 Also for future note: Tesla weaponry shred through trees. Wait, what? I though only shells and rockets did that, and tesla weapons would only burn them like fire? :O
Jacko Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Also for future note: Tesla weaponry shred through trees. Wait, what? I though only shells and rockets did that, and tesla weapons would only burn them like fire? :O Try it
ore_truck Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 The tough guy on that mission is almost as powerful as volkov (except he can be crushed) but if you sent a battalion of heavy tanks like that you won't notice since he'll get fried quickly.
TaxOwlbear Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 Try it I have to now. The tough guy on that mission is almost as powerful as volkov (except he can be crushed) but if you sent a battalion of heavy tanks like that you won't notice since he'll get fried quickly. Those tanks fry everything that doesn't fly. It's beautiful to see them melt buildings and units with one blast.
Chad1233 Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Counterstrike was always my personal favorite expansion... The one mission I always played way back on PS1 was Legecy of Tesla. I always thought my base looked so cool and just sat there intill the Nuke Bomber destroyed me. XD Speaking of the ''new units'' In the Fresh Tracks mission I find it strange that Westwood named the longbow ''F-A Longbow'' gave it 10 laser guided rockets instead of 5 heat seeking ones plus it's very fast and it's not even mentioned in briefing or anything.
TaxOwlbear Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 Yeah, the Super Longbow is odd. I have the feeling that the lead developer announced "Okay, in this add-on, you are allowed to play around with the unit stats" and everyone went "Yay!".
TaxOwlbear Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 This is yet another nuke mission. I mean, they not even pretending it's actually a fuel air bomb. Even the mission name contains "nuclear". Overall, not too bad of a mission. Barely any of the bombs are aimed at your base, and there's probably a spot where you are entirely safe. I could have ended this even earlier had I known about the second ore field. Soviets Mission 8: Nuclear Escalation
ore_truck Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 The fuel bombs (or nukes whatever it is) are always aimed at predetermined spots, flares will show you where the bombs will always hit once you captured the western tech lab but I never pay attention to those markers. I don't think people bother avoiding the marked bombing spots anyway.
TaxOwlbear Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 I'm not sure whether it's worth taking out the western base first. The majority of the attack seem to come from the north, and once that base is down, it's usually over for the Allies
TaxOwlbear Posted June 2, 2016 Author Posted June 2, 2016 Ah, the famous ant campaign. Back in ye olden days, when stuff like this wasn't all over the Internet right away, this completely blew me away, and that was after I had played the dinosaur missions. The first mission isn't too bad. The very first time I played it, I thought it was impossible because I got swarmed right away. Later, I learned to value the rifleman spam. Ant Mission 1: Discovery!
TaxOwlbear Posted June 7, 2016 Author Posted June 7, 2016 The second ant mission is a lot more relaxed than the first one. There's less ants on the ant side and more tanks on your side. Ant Mission 2: Rescue!
TaxOwlbear Posted June 9, 2016 Author Posted June 9, 2016 This mission is my favourite ant mission. The exterminators are a neat little gimmick, and the ants require some adjustment of my usual tactics. Ant Mission 3: Hunt!
TaxOwlbear Posted June 14, 2016 Author Posted June 14, 2016 To conclude the ant campaign, we have to complete - of course - an indoor mission. This one isn't too bad; you have plenty of resources and there's only one real trap. Ant Mission 4: Exterminate!
