    • I also have the same question because I have been trying to understand how the game speed settings in CnCNet actually translate into FPS and gameplay behaviour. The slider values are a little confusing, especially when different versions of the Command & Conquer games handle speed settings differently. I have seen people mention that the values correspond to frame limits, but I have not found a complete explanation showing what each level from 1 to 7 actually does. Having a clear table or reference would make it much easier to compare the classic experience with OpenRA and understand what the original games were intended to run at. I’m also curious about the default settings used in the single-player campaigns and whether they are consistent across different titles like Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert, Red Alert 2/Yuri’s Revenge, and Tiberian Sun. Since each game engine has its own timing and performance behaviour, it would be helpful if someone with deeper knowledge of the CnCNet client or the original engines could explain the differences. I have the same question and would appreciate any information about the exact FPS limits, default campaign speed, and whether changing these values affects only the visual frame rate or also changes the actual game simulation speed.
    • Over the course of the last 2 months, there has been a steep decline in activity since the cncnet team discontinued access to funkyfr3sh's client, and all users attempting to play Tiberian Sun are redirected to their newer client.    The new client has a very nostalgic feel, is more aesthetically appealing, and new features added to it, however, the standard game has alterations to it that make it a different game than all of us who have been playing for decades did not request.    The rollout of the new client was heavily discussed a couple years ago amongst the cncnet admin team, where I advised them that the only way players would migrate from funky's client to the new client would be forcefully, and in doing so would cause a drop in activity of an already fragile population. This has been the case every time we've undergone a change in servers over the years, from WOL to WUU, to XWIS, and to cncnet, each time losing a chunk of our player base.    With this final maneuver of directing activity to the new client, I believe this has put the nail in the coffin for the game so many of us have poured so much of our time into. Regardless, I want to thank the team at cncnet for keeping TS alive for so long. Without you, none of us would be here so many years later.   It has been a fulfilling time getting to play with many of you over the years. So many games have been infuriating, enthralling, and every emotion in between. From my early days as a modder, it was such a fun challenge to learn westwood maps and climb the ranks, competing with the best players that have ever touched TS.    I want to give a special shoutout to a few players that I was fortunate enough to befriend and contributed to making my time here a pleasant one to remember: Fakemammy (Rest in Peace my friend) Avan F0odLion Killernav alter3go Megaf0rce Kapa371 zayuin00 Timmay mjvd teamxle jluv4rza xtenzi0n exile4eva mill0 bluewar88 Tezzism limemouse sm0kn Xeoning Dazirelan Hitman Snifz Tur0k Vietman Sk8ownz       Mola/WeaponX- We have a history, starting off very adversarial, going in and out of toxic encounters. Within the last couple years, our interactions have shifted drastically and we've come to understand eachothers quirks, and have developed a strong sense of respect for one another. You are one of only two players that I can confidently say has been a consistent threat, and who I've needed to be on my A-game against at any time. It has been a pleasure going head-to-head against you all these years. You are a controversial figure in the grand scheme of our game, however, you have definitely carved yourself into its history as a force to be reckoned with, and a legendary foe. Thank you for so many challenging games and pushing me to the limit. Good Games!   Ray/Phatmouse- You were one of the first high caliber players that I met when I started playing westwood with Avan so, so long ago. I've probably known you longer than anyone left playing TS. You have always been incredibly solid, very smart in your choices, and made every match highly engaging. You have adapted and continuously kept yourself at the forefront of the competition over so many years, and are always such an enjoyable opponent to face. I almost never won an MK fight against you, and never will again. You have my utmost respect, thank you for all the games. GGs   GG everyone, -c0rpsmakr
