Tiberian Dawn - 4077 (single player)
Nyerguds replied to MattAttack's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
A snow mission! Totally a dream come true for me, for a mission maker to use the newly added theater -
Tiberian Dawn - Tell us a bit of your plans
Nyerguds replied to Chimas's topic in Mapping Discussion
The game does consider tiberium and credits the same (or rather, credits = tiberium + "cash" money, like the kind you get from cancelled constructions, unit/structure selling, or starting money), but how would the player get money from another player harvesting? -

yeah... someone made an entire study of it somewhere, but I don't remember where. It was either on CNCNZ, on TiberiumWeb, or here. -
Ohhhh, the Tech Center. I though that with "TC" you were referring to some Total Conversion mod project Well, long story short, the original reason it was shut down was because some hacker broke into the account and used it for spamming, which promptly made GameSpy (our host) take it offline for safety reasons. However, no matter how much PuMa asked about it, they never put it back up... which was pretty weird. you'd expect it to just be a password reset, but no. A few years later though, it all became moot, as the crisis hit, and GameSpy ended all their free hosting, shutting down the domain name permanently. This site is pretty much the successor-in-spirit of the old C&C Techcenter, so yeah, didn't take me long to find my way here. Especially since it's focused more on C&C1 than on RA. I still got PuMa on MSN, but like so many others, he moved on to other interests. A real pity, imo. I still got most of the mod projects from those days on my hard disk though, and the C&C2SW project has a brand-new home over at ppmsite: http://cnc2sw.ppmsite.com/ My main focus these days is the project in my signature though; the 1.06 patch for C&C95.

Besides some remixes I got off Frank Klepacki's website, the DOS scores.mix (the Covert Ops version, anyway. I DO hope you're referring to that one) contains exactly what I added to the patch. So I doubt that'll have made much difference. Why exactly did you do the movies.mix thing, though? Movies.mix isn't needed by the game, and videos don't even need to be in a mixfile to work.

...which means you ARE judging the game by lack of the features that were added in its sequels <_< -
making your own briefing movies for TD?
Nyerguds replied to MattAttack's topic in Modding Discussion
The problem in RA is that it doesn't save the filenames of the briefing videos in its savegames. It saves the internal ID of the video. This takes less space in the savegame, but restricts the use to videos that are IN the list. C&C1 simply saves the filename of the video, and the internal list is completely unused. I think the only thing C&C1 ever checks that internal list for is for playing the intro on first startup. Anyway, for the VQA converter... http://www.ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8337 Best used in combination with RAD video tools, since C&C1-type VQA needs the video material as a series of 256-colour frames which all use the same palette, at (preferably) 15 FPS, with 22050 hz mono audio. RAD can convert any avi to that in one single conversion. (well, one conversion to get the frames, another to get the WAV audio) -
Got that one uploaded on my site, together with a bunch of other similar packs http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cncstuff/missions/

It's not Javascript. Javascript is a HTML extension script for use on web pages. Java is a compilable programming language. It's entirely different. As for the installing and running, I'm afraid I'm going to make you feel even more silly, since the included readme file covers that... and I even included a Dutch version (I'm Flemish). So yeah, very sorry, but RTFM. Specifically, these sections: If installing Java doesn't link jar files to it, there are a number of other ways to get it done: Make sure WinRAR isn't set to open jar files Manually link the jar files to "Java Platform SE binary" in the Programs list by right-clicking on the jar and selecting "open with" (you may need to shift-rightclick the file to get the "Open With" option) Open notepad, put "@java -jar battlegame.jar" in it (without the quotes), go to 'Save', set the save type in Notepad to "all files", and save it as "run.bat". Then double-click "run.bat" to run. Open the jar as zip file (you may have to rename the .jar to .zip for that), extract the entire contents to the installation folder, and then use the included "run.bat"

Ah, still got that zipfile somewhere on my disk Nice to see one of the old players come back to life.

Oh shut up. You can't judge a game by lack of the features that were added in its sequels -
You just have to make sure to destroy enough of the turrets I think. In fact, it might even be celltrigger-based, meaning you have to get the commando close enough to the landing point itself before they arrive. Huh? The patch should clean up everything itself... exactly which mixfiles are you referring to?
-
which RATC? I honestly have no idea what you mean...

hmm... there were theories that the middle number (usually "15" or "7") in a teamtype affected how it reacted to such events. Not sure where that research ended up, though. -
Stack overflow? That's really weird...

It was even outsourced. WW didn't make it themselves. And the internal structure of its graphics storage is based more off Dune II than off C&C.

Make sure the starting folder in the shortcut's properties is set to the game directory. Umm, no. Obviously the window will be at least the game resolution, otherwise you'd lose detail by scaling down the image, which probably means you won't be able to see the difference between a grenadier and a minigunner ingame. If you want to have a 640x400 window, you should just play in 640x400. cnc-ddraw never does downscaling. The opposite works perfectly though; stretching 640x400 to 1024x768.

...no. The one at the right side right next to the sidebar. The one which has its top half cut off because it's pasted over with the beta resources

Did you see the cut off HARVESTER in that pic?

counter them by putting a single minigunner higher on the map -
Do you run C&C95 from the game folder?

...okay, checklist. 1. New member 2. Vague post 3. Not making much sense 4. Bumping very old topic 5. Link in signature ...this looks like a spambot.

You mean these and these? (Remember, I collect that stuff )
