  1. Then you better change waypoint 26. No one likes starting in the dark. And what Maikel said
  2. lol, can't see how you can make Nod 7c harder without making it impossible...
  3. The -MMX parameter won't make any difference. The game has an automatic MMX detection check that's executed on startup anyway. So if your PC supports MMX, it will be activated. That command line option just forces it, which seems like a bad idea to me. I debugged the automatic check, and I saw it enable MMX mode, so it works. No need for the -MMX parameter.
  4. Maybe the ddraw fix for TS does help with this... you never know. It can be found here: http://www.ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19543 I recently had to use it to fix the horrible slowdown whenever I built a building.
  5. Well as I said, your choice. I personally don't like artificial-looking maps
  6. ok... I'll just show you -_- The suggestion pic is obviously optional, but I think it looks a lot more natural that way. The red indications on the first pic, however, are avoidable errors.
  7. Does this mean that it's something I could fix by making the game run some of the LAN network init code when running the wchat code?
  8. pichorra: Hyper said somewhere on PPM that the VideoBackBuffer option in TS is read, but 100% unused by any code. So it has no effect.
  9. This map has several cliff facing and connection issues... not to mention unnatural looking terrain by using the cliffs as plain barriers rather than separations of higher and lower terrain. It's a nice idea, but the execution is somewhat lacking, imo. Oh, and btw, C&C HAS 4-way cliff connections.
  10. There's the "edit" button to fix that
  11. Well, I personally never debugged multiplayer to the point of actually seeing that list of player IP addresses... but I guess I could look into that if I got some time.
  12. heh, I don't get mad easily. Done tech support on the official boards... you don't survive long there if you get angry too quickly
  13. Then you usually use a QUESTION MARK. It's rather common to make the difference between a STATEMENT and a QUESTION
  14. That's why I don't play RA...never really saw the appeal.
  15. Eh? That's Dune 2000... and that d2k issue is fixed by putting it in high colour in the game options.
  16. Won't be until after my exams, sorry.
  17. The 3.03 patch installer isn't meant for No-CD installs. It uses the TFD registry entries to detect if it is being installed on TFD, so RA+ obviously doesn't trigger that, meaning it does NOT install a NoCD exe on it. There's really nothing I can do about that, besides maybe some dodgy workarounds like checking for main.mix in the folder.
  18. Artillery is indeed usually only good as defense, or if the enemy has no air force. As Nod you're usually better off going for SSMs; they actually outrange everything without any effort. You just need to remember the small tech tree oddity that makes you require an Obelisk to build those. They mean absolute death for any turtling opponent, especially if he uses the terrain as defense, which means he only has a few possible base entrances. Lay siege to them with SSMs guarded with light tanks in front of them, and bikes as AA around them, and you can wipe out any base defenses they could put up. As for grenadiers and medium tanks, I'd just counter with light tanks and flame tanks, and maybe some expendable flamethrowers to take the infantry down faster. Flamers and grenadiers are about evenly matched.
  19. "Disclaimer: The defeated AI was technically also Nod"
  20. always glad I can help No, see, normally, if a unit's weapon is set on "-1", it means the unit has no weapon. But apparently, the C17 somehow goes into airstrike mode when reinforced, and totally ignores this, attacking with the "weapon" that is specified by some random data that is just BEFORE the real weapons list in the exe (aka, "at index -1 in the weapons list"). Overall we're very lucky that whatever's there doesn't totally crash the game.
  21. all right... - "Attack Base" isn't a valid unit commands. Those are teamtype commands. The only reason the enemy engie does anything is because of your "All to Hunt" trigger. XCC did mess those up, yes. - an Airstrike trigger doesn't get a teamtype. It's just one simply fact; the player gets airstrike. How many planes you get is automatic. Only automated AI airstrikes use teamtypes, simply by reinforcing A10s. PS: You can make testing missions less tedious by playing NoEgoScreen=True in your Basic section, to skip score screens On a related note, I need to fix that "C17 attacking stuff" bug
  22. Nah. It just puts everything in upper case, which kinda messes up the Briefing and Name. Solo: I don't really get the point of this though... if you attached the maps or at lease gave the trigger configs, I could see what you're doing here.
  23. Stealth tanks are fun to sneak into the enemy base one by one, and then attack the conyard (or any other important target you want to take out). I've recently done my "APC full of chem warriors" assault tactic with flamethrowers... takes some more micromanagement, but it worked out nicely. In combination with 2 stealths, I took out the CY and all power plants, leaving the opponent completely crippled The fun part is driving through the enemy base, dropping of 2 flamethrowers, and immediately driving on to the next target
  24. heh. Welcome, NodAssaultTrooper!

    CALL FOR WARGAME

Hehe, well, have fun with that. Not sure what kind of comments you're looking for though.
