Nope, sorry, no one ever finished that. There's more issues though... RA not only has a ton more tiles than C&C1, like shore cliffs and long bridges and stuff, but the C&C1 Desert rivers are also completely different shapes than the Temperate/winter/Snow ones, so they can't be converted that easily. They need a lot of editing to get right.

Player areas! Who's near me? who's near who?
Nyerguds replied to AchromicWhite's question in Support
I seriously hope it's coming soon. -
I put the download on my site: http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cnc95upd/cc95p106/#addon Pichorra: I added a readme file based on your original post, and called this v1.1, I hope that's OK?

Tutorials? You mean, like this one? http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/junk/tutorials/xcc-copy-as.png There isn't much more to it than that. Then you edit the frames and copy them (well, the first one. It'll find the rest automatically) back as SHP. The only thing that's important is not changing its colour palette or saving it as high-colour PNG. btw, the conc pattern is wrong. Try it ingame, you'll see.

Here... new version is done. This one simply has all the language inis and strings files inside the mod mixfile, meaning you can have the mod enabled in ModControl in conquer.ini, and can change languages without any problems. It currently supports all 4 official languages. Because the icon mixfile pattern (????idos.mix) is specified in the mod ini file (dosmod.ini), it overrides any language setting, so no matter what language you choose it'll always show the DOS icons, even for language addons that aren't specifically supported in the DOS mod To enable it, simply set the permanent mod status in conquer.ini: [ModControl] ModName=dosmod Pic, I suggest you take a look through the files to see exactly how I've done it Note that for languages besides the originals, you don't need to include the language ini; I just had to do that to make it override the strings files, since the original conquer.eng/ger/fre are in cclocal.mix, which has highest priority and can't be overridden. so I changed them to conquer._en/_ge/_fr to solve this. But for Spanish, you can just add "conquer.spa": since the mod mixfile is read before the language mixfile, the one in the mod mixfile will be used I think that in a next version I'll add the string-changes-read-from-an-ini-file system to the normal language inis too, to allow mods with multi-language support without the need to give them the full strings file to override. [edit] Support for the Spanish and British language addons is added

I even think I could make the mod be multi-language... without any changes to the modding system Basically this would just mean adding it as mod, but letting the mod mixfile contain the orignally named files for all languages (the ini file, the strings file, the UI files). Still gotta figure out if all details would work though...

I made upped case german and french strings files for you, Pichorra... I'll drop em here later

Maikel: That's just a side effect of 1024x768 mode. It shows area that is technically outside the actual map.

A batch script can do that too

CnC-DDraw alpha released! - play C&C95 & RA95 in a window!
Nyerguds replied to Tore's topic in CnCNet News
Can't seem to debug in windowed mode though; IDA chokes on the on-the-fly hacks the dll does. I should ask hifi to remake me one of the first versions, where all he did was make it not switch to fullscreen. -
welp, link him to this topic, and he has a nice reference guide in my post. I'll gladly explain to him how each one of them works. ffs, nowadays some PC users are barely aware of the existence of directories on their system. This is getting beyond ridiculous. Education >>> Automation.

Or posted it on the EA boards

Hmm... that seems like some kind of graphics card issue then. You might want to start by updating your graphics card drivers.
-
yeah, used to have loads of desktop shortcuts loading a separate conf file. I just put the game launch commands straight in the autoexec section.

Seriously people, if you want a frontend for DOSBox, install Windows 3.11 on it. I got original installer floppies if you need em @MrFlibble: Man, I've wanted to rebuild a DOS pentium for ages, but never got around to it.
-
haha, lol. Well with questions like #10 (which pretty much assumes a negative answer on the previous one), I can understand that

Meh. What's there to learn? Just the basic commands set with 'cd', 'dir', 'md', 'rd' (or 'rmdir', not sure what it is in DOSBox), 'copy', 'move', 'ren', changing drives with "driveletter:", and then the basic system of working with parameters and relative paths like '\', '.' and '..', and you're pretty much set. Besides that, there's some basic rules like "Any program inside a folder in the "path" variable can be run from anywhere" (oh that's right, the 'Set' command. Funfun ) and "Every drive remembers its path" so something like 'copy file.txt d:' copies the file.txt from the current path you're on to the path you were last on on drive D. And using 'cd' with a full path that's on a different drive only changes the path set on that drive; it doesn't automatically switch you to the drive.

eh, it's a DOS emulator. It emulates DOS. There is no GUI for that. If you don't know the basics of DOS, there's only one thing you can do, and that's LEARN THEM.

Then again, they are usually deliberately made easier in the demo.

CnC-DDraw alpha released! - play C&C95 & RA95 in a window!

#1 is hardly a bug; it does the same thing if you touch the sidebar, and you can't scroll while selecting anyway. -

Yeah, I've noticed quite a slowdown on my machine as well... -

Believe me, I did. There were just too many of them. -

I took the liberty of editing your post a little. you really need to construct better sentences, man -
Not quite. It doesn't have internet play. And the 3.03 patch doesn't update DOS C&C, probably because the main updated feature was internet play. But that does mean that with 3.03, the DOS version is also missing all the other improvements it did. I was referring to the C&C95 v1.06 patch I made. Which I didn' tmake for DOS C&C since 32-bit DOS is a mess to hack into. Eh... none of the C&C or RA patches had stuff like that though. That's debatable... monitors have gotten quite a lot bigger since 1995 too. I guess you got some valid points there, yes. I really don't like their decision to make the videos interlaced, and the installer was indeed really boring compared to the DOS one. But the game misses a lot of lore that is supposed to go with the EVA interface anyway. A lot of that can only find in the official strategy guide. The prime example being the static screen after [start New Game]. Nothing in the manual or game indicates that you are using an official GDI program but get the static screen with the choice of campaigns because it's been hacked by Nod. I don't really mind the font though. The original was lacking a case sensitive font, and with the higher res it actually became plausible. If only they'd given C&C95 hi-res videos with the text remade... ah well. That's a bug though. In the original C&C95 on Win95 machines it ran OK. It's just with newer machines with faster CPUs that the speed problem occurs. Meh. They were pretty much just screenshots from the game anyway. I like the fact they went to actual pictures of the units; it's like the big images in Dune II. And the fact they don't have remap is just so they could increase the number of colours used in these icons. Also, The DOS RA1 icons don't remap.
