  1. I guess gif isn't allowed on this board? Tore?
  2. Hah!
  3. SSD = Solid State Drive. The new generation hard disks without spinning parts; basically something between RAM memory and the kind of flash memory used in USB drives. These disks are lightning fast. Boots up your PC in literally a couple of seconds.
  4. ....that is a gigantic amount of teams. Why on earth would you need that many?!
  5. TFD, Saga, and TUC? Wow. you sure like giving EA money, don't you?
  6. An actual bug: if I middle-mouse-click the "quote" button to open it in a new tab, a useless "Loading" bar appears at the top for no reason. Heck, when I just press quote normally, that same bar appearing for a split second before the navigation takes you to the Post Reply page seems utterly useless anyway. I expected it would appear before putting the quote in the quick reply box on the same page, but, nope. [edit] Ohey. Theme 10 has that too. Is that an actual forum bug?
  7. The user avatars sidebar looks kind of messy without the frame. I'd extend that box to include the avatar instead of having that just floating above it a bit. Oh, and I utterly hate having to do an extra click to get to the quote and edit buttons.
  8. So? If you go for max score, it's not like speed matters.
  9. Distract the AGT? Why? You can kill the ACC with the stealth tanks without even coming into the range of the AGT
  10. The "maximum score on Death Squad" one is an interesting challenge. I found out you lose score in efficiency for any building you destroy to reach your objective. So the maximum score run on Death Squad is one where you lose 0 units and where the only building you destroy is the ACC itself.
  11. Tore's solution, as I mentioned, isn't the same. It doesn't just change the build exceptions. It's a cheat that simply allows you to build EVERYTHING, equivalent to maximum multiplayer tech level. Hardly the same, I'd say. Also, it being a cheat code, you need to re-type it in every mission and after every savegame load Anyway, I added some more info in my post above. Might be interesting to check out.
  12. Um, what? 3A915 is the ADDRESS. It just means, the 3A915th (in decimal, 239893rd) byte in the file. If you found 3A910, it's five bytes after it O_o I mean, each of these addresses you see is followed by 16 bytes, and the top even shows you which one is byte #5. Also, if you'd actually click in that line, the offset in the status bar (I coloured it yellow in the pic) would change to the actual place you clicked on. And you can use the arrow keys to move around the other bytes from there. Not to mention, I'm fairly sure all hex editors have a "go to address" option somewhere in their menu, generally under the shortcut [Ctrl]+[G]. Just giving the address in that would've jumped you right to it.
  13. Removing that one sound can't possibly change something like that... especially not if you already get it at game startup.
  14. The edit I showed there (3A915 to FF) basically tells it to check for House ID -1 instead of "1" (Nod) when checking if the conditions for the APC exception are met xD
  15. For the record... Single player exceptions: -On Nod mission 11, the STNK (Stealth Tank) has MISS (Tech Center) as prerequisite -GDI cannot build E3 (Bazooka) before mission 7 -GDI cannot build MSAM (Rocket Launcher) before mission 9 (which is silly since its build level is 11) -Nod cannot build the APC (Armored Parsonnel Carrier) -GDI cannot build the TMPL (Temple of Nod) or OBLI (Obelisk of Light) -Nod cannot build MSAM (Rocket Launcher) -Nod can build the NUK2 (Advanced Power Plant) starting from mission 12 -Nod cannot build HPAD (Helipad) -GDI cannot build SBAG (sand bags) before mission 8 -In GDI mission 2, the build level is reduced back to to 1. Prerequisites equivalents: -Adv Power Plant counts as a Power Plant -Hand of Nod counts as Barracks -Obelisk of Light counts as Advanced Guard Tower -Advanced Comm Center counts as Comm Center (added by patch 1.06) -Temple of Nod counts as Advanced Comm Center (but not as Comm Center) -Airstrip counts as Weapons Factory Originally there was also one that said the SAM site counted as helipad. No clue wtf that was meant to do. I replaced it by the more useful "ACC is Comm center" one, which makes sure GDI players who own an ACC don't need to re-build their long-sold comm center to access Nod's special stuff after capturing an airstrip.
  16. lol. That maximizes the tech level too, though. It seems I completely forgot to document this in the release notes, but 1.06c contains a mission option to disable these special exceptions. Just add "RemoveBuildExceptions=yes" to the mission's [basic] header. However, doing this often has problematic effects since these include build level tweaks to compensate for the fact Nod only got 13 missions, whereas the build levels of all double-owned stuff in the game is aimed at GDI's 15-mission campaign. To give an example... the actual build level of the Advanced Power Plant is 13, so Nod would ONLY get it in the last mission. With the campaign tech tree adjustments enabled, it is shifted down to 12 for Nod. And you just can't compensate this by upping the mission's build level, because sometimes the exception is different for GDI and Nod. Like how GDI only gets the Bazooka at level 7 Honestly, they made that stuff far too complicated in my opinion. I'd just have allowed freely selecting the build level per mission, and just skipped a few for Nod every now and then to set all Nod missions to their desired tech level, so all build level exceptions could be removed from this. Ah well. Westwood... On a related note, there's specific code to make sure GDI can't build the rocket launcher before mission 9. The rocket launcher's build level is 11 O_o Oh, if you can be bothered hex editing... changing the byte at 3A915 to FF should specifically disable that APC thing
  17. Besides CarryOverMoney, there's also an unused CarryOverCap option, theorized (but I think never tested) to be tiberium capacity. Which wouldn't be very useful since you rarely ever start with a base or tiberium storage.
  18. No, I just meant, delete and replace the attachment. Normal users indeed can't delete posts. Anyway, I cleaned it up for you. Can't help you with RA2 ini coding, though, sorry. Never done that O_o
  19. Instruction at 00000000? Um, wow. That's not even a game error. That's some kind of failure to launch.
  20. -> "Listen up, soldier. If we lose England it's not going to be to a bunch of pinko ants, I don't care how big." He's only talking to one soldier. And "pinko" is slang for communist -> "You just tell your men to get out there and kick some ant ass."
  21. The ingame menu seemingly freezing can be solved by setting C&C95.exe to compatibility mode for Win95. Um. C&C is a 256 colour game. It can't NOT run in 256 colour. I'm fairly sure that option makes no difference whatsoever on the game.
  22. No, I mean in the NEXT mission. They actually tell you you did it wrong (if you blow up the correct thing in mission 6, you skip straight to mission 8, so you don't get the "you blew up the wrong thing" video either)
  23. Can't the TS installer use the videos from the CDs somehow?
  24. Really? The briefing video of mission 7 literally told you that you blew up the wrong thing, and if you open the briefing text , it'll tell you you should've bombed the airstrip.
  25. Yeah, but the local moderators can and will. Don't post that again.
