On The Down Low Nod mission 62X59 Desert theater scb80ea ------------------- Mission Description ------------------- GDI has discovered our Technology Center, where we have secretly developed our new Stealth Tank, and commenced bombing it into oblivion. Destroy the GDI Communications Center to stop the airstrikes, paving the way for our counter-offensive. You must save at least 1 of our Stealth Tanks to bring to production or you fail. Avenge the Brotherhood and smash the GDI presence! The first part of the mission is based on the stealth tank's ability to avoid detection and the rest is a pretty straight up base mission. Watch out for A-10's searching for other targets once your stealths re-cloak! Originally designed for my "Tiberian Dawn for Pros" campaign that I havent gotten around to finishing. This was meant to replace Nod mission 11. ------------------- Please let me know if you find any bugs. Comment if you love it or hate it, your feedback helps! ontheDL.zip

GDI=Mission 10(Orca mission) Easy as heck but I love it! scb10ea specifically. NOD=Mission 5(have to build the SAM site) I can't believe I used to think it was hard but still to this day lots of fun! Covert Ops=Eviction Notice. Having to trash a village to make space for your base... XD

Orca Assault GDI mission 60x62 desert theater scg80ea ------------------- Mission Description ------------------- Utilize the newly developed 'ORCA' air support unit to destroy the NOD technology center in this area. Take out their main base to gather intellegence of its location. Steer clear of anti-air threats and they should pose a minimal challenge to you. ------------------- Another of my 'Tiberian Dawn for Pros' missions originally meant to replace GDI mission 10 (the Orca mission.) I wanted one where you actually have to build Orcas to survive, although it's probably possible to beat it without them. Please let me know if you find any bugs. Comment if you love it or hate it! Your feedback helps! Orca_Assault.zip

The base function in xcc editor doesn't work for me... it lists the entries in ascending order when it should be the other way around. And it doesn't have the "count=" after it. So what I do is let xcc editor calculate the base numbers and than arrange them manually afterwards. Just look in the original game .ini's to get a proper idea.

Tiberian Dawn - Defend the Obelisk (single player)
MattAttack replied to MattAttack's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Thanks for trying the mission! Yeah, the 'infinite' men was intentional. Don't want the player to get complacent! -
Defend the Obelisk Nod mission 61x62 desert theater scb79ea ------------------- Mission Description ------------------- The Obelisk of Light is a symbol of the Brotherhood's power and strength. We have erected one in this area and it must be protected at all costs. Meanwhile, wipe out the nearby GDI base. A rather difficult mission utilizing some of the AI's weird behavior. Originally designed for my "Tiberian Dawn for Pros" campaign that I havent gotten around to finishing. This was originally meant to replace Nod mission 10. Just because you survive the first two minutes doesn't mean you're out of the woods yet! ------------------- Please let me know if you find any bugs. Comment if you love it or hate it, please! obelisk.zip

Tiberian Dawn - My First Singleplayer map
MattAttack replied to micha's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
I thought overall it was pretty good for a 1st map. A little simple, but hey, it's your 1st map. My only complaints were aesthetic, like the turrets in the tiberium field surrounded by squares of rocks looked a little unnatural, but that's just me. Look forward to the next one! -
These maps are awesome... Lots of tiberium and nobody can really whine about getting a bad starting spot!
-
A tournament? Awesome! I'm not sure how to make it better, but I know I'm definetely interested. XD

well I found that my issue with the map losing the bottom few cells had to do with the old hi-res savegames from V1.06c R1. Problem solved!

interesting.... So I decided to play the "tiberian dawn for pros" that I made and I noticed a lot of the maps have 3 or 4 cells at the bottom cut off, causing some units to start off of the map. These worked perfectly fine before R2 and I'm at a loss why the map would be different when I had not changed the .ini's at all.

I tried to run ccconfig and I get this error message. and if I remove the ddraw files from the directory it won't work.
-
I installed this and it runs really slow on my computer. Scrolling on the map majorly lags and there's a big delay between clicking on a unit and it being 'activated.' I think it has something to do with ddraw because this happened whenever I used it in the past to get screenshots. I've tried messing around with the ddraw config file to no avail. Any suggestions? p.s. I do really like the fact that the comm center map defaults to a zoomed out picture!

made this a while ago. Just replaced all Nod stuff in the .ini to the seemingly appropriate GDI unit/structure. Nod_Skirmish.zip

I'll just edit this old ass post since no one ever really read it anyways.... fancy logo, eh? So here we are almost 4 years later and I now know waaay more about making missions and have been making much more serious progress on this ancient project..... Here I will dump the mission files for testing purposes. Also, I am soliciting any mission ideas, half-finished maps etc. for this project. Post your input, people! **EDIT:9.18.15** GDI/Nod 1-4 with alternates (13 missions) complete. Download from here: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=4480.0 For now I've taken down all of the test missions. Thanks to everyone who tested and actually gave me feedback, your help was tremendous. SCG01EA:Replaced the old "Blood Beach" with this easier mission. Return Nikoomba to his village. (where in canon he then gets killed by Nod.) SCG02EA:After the public outcry of the difficulty of the old version of mission 2, I made this much easier map. Still a lot of fun and I learned a lot about patrols. SCG03EA:One of my personal favorites. It's my homage to GDI 3 (the SAM/Grenadier one.) Much like the original, just on super steroids! You don't have to destroy the SAMs to get an airstrike, but it helps your a-10s to do so. And as Chimas pointed out, it's also my inadvertent homage to 'Twist of Fate' since you gotta guide your MCV to an appropriate area! SCG4EA:Another one that I'm really proud of. First, outrun the commandos chasing you, keep Nod from destroying too much of the village and then build up and smash your enemy! That's all the screens I feel like adding now, more to come!

making your own briefing movies for TD?
MattAttack replied to MattAttack's topic in Modding Discussion
Awesome.... Yeah, I totally read the hell out of that thread, so I had the color thing adjusted already. I successfully got a stop-motion movie to play in the game and downloaded some free green-screen software, so the work is in progress! It's amazing that this stuff probably cost thousands of dollars to do originally and now I'm accomplishing it with stuff laying around the house and some free downloaded software. Hooray for the internet! -
making your own briefing movies for TD?
MattAttack replied to MattAttack's topic in Modding Discussion
so I take it the .vqp file is the palette? If your scene has more than 2 palettes will you need two .vqp's, or will it all be stored in one? I noticed there are none in the game's mix files, so where does it get it's palettes? Would it be impolite to post a huge .mix of homemade movies on this site? sorry for all the questions, but this really has me intrigued! I think I'm going to make a campaign with cutscenes and breifings! -
making your own briefing movies for TD?
MattAttack replied to MattAttack's topic in Modding Discussion
holy crap I got it to work!! made a test video and played it ingame!! this is so sweet!! also, I realized since you have to convert everything to individual pcx frames anyways, you could even do stop-motion photogrophy-- i.e. get little model tanks and have them rolling through the dirt-- as a cutscene!! THANKS!!! -
Tiberian Dawn - The Shifting Sands (Single Player)
MattAttack replied to Trailhog250's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
fun mission. I like the hordes of infantry and the constant harvester harassment. The only issue I ran into was regarding my airfield-- I would build a unit and the transport plane wouldn't land. The item on the menu bar would say 'ready' and clicking on it would do nothing. I thought it might be an issue with the east edge of the map, but upon looking at it in ccmap I'm at a loss. Luckily this didn't happen until after I'd decimated about half of the GDI base! -
Tiberian Dawn - 4077 (single player)
MattAttack replied to MattAttack's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
yes, 4077 is from m*a*s*h*. it seemed more clever than 'defend the hospital.' I too prefer the desert theatre as I'm located in Las Vegas and it reminds me of home. You know this is where Westwood studios was at when C&C was developed? In fact, 'Greg Burdette' was a local weatherman and I ran into 'Kane' at a local coffee shop I worked at! XD -
Tiberian Dawn - Tell us a bit of your plans
MattAttack replied to Chimas's topic in Mapping Discussion
I figured for every $10000 credits the computer gets, you get a transport plane reinforcing like $500-- or something like that. the idea would be that GDI is building up resources for the war effort and not just for the player to use for that particular mission. I've run into the problem of computer harvesters stalling out, but of course I gave them the most intricate and complicated route to get to the Tiberium. Gotta redesign the map so it's more of a straight path. This may not prove feasible int the end, but I'm still gonna give it a go. It's at least good practice at manipulating the computer AI. This stuff is tons of trial and error; I'll think I've created a brilliant plan and then my team of 10 infantry will just stand there and twitch!
