  1. I would like to exonerate FunkyFr3sh for all his works and effort he has put into cncnet for the past while (seems like ages). May FunkyFr3sh be blessed with good things! I conjure the rest of you to pass on your thanks as well, as it should be pointed out and appreciation should be passed on when it can. For the best.
  2. Pichorra will forever be remembered as that guy who wanted the old stuff. I once told hifi we should make cncnet win95 compatible, now this happens! Typical! Killa, I think you should do with what you have for the moment.
  3. Yes, wonderful donators! You give us money for doing what we have a passion to do on our free time and you give us money based on how awesome we do it. CnCNet certainly does need people who are willing to do things for free, like give ideas; dev; play the game; read forums: Throw money at us... All of it is really really giving! Just remember that we were once players or forum stalkers like you who found a place to waste our times! Also remember that we represent an old way of thinking, so make sure you recognise the definite comparison between your previous state of mind in which you enjoyed this series of games and how you are now, sometimes the past has more answers then the present. Thanks, Founder of CnCNet, Myg PS: I am awesome.
  4. Mechacaseal, Funky. Please contemplate what is happening here. People who know Mechacaseal, will know him by his character and not his nickname. Otherwise this is going to be a problem in a hand-basket.
  5. Should be near 500+ players I suppose, since this is based on growth expectations of a specific user. I will see what we can do to get work back into the system. Please tell your friends about CNCNet and help others come back to their old nostalgic moments.
  6. RE: The stagnation post, I suggest you set up a test page if you are interested Tore. There doesn't seem to be much work to it tbh. I don't think it would be too hard to get running.
  7. What about JsDOSBox instead/alternative, Tore? That is much newer and might fill your needs once it is finished (we can switch over to JsDosBox after it becomes better then JDosBox). http://sourceforge.net/projects/jsdosbox/?source=directory
  8. In time it could be made so that the cncnet.org host would run an IPX dosbox server that could host players run by the JDosBox client, so there would be a sub culture cncnet going along-side the normal one (more old-school one to be said).
  9. I propose that we implement a new section of the cncnet community web system where people can play the single player demos of westwood games that ran during the DOS compatibility era using JDosBox (for those that work atm). This would provide a nice continuity of theme for the site. Yours in hope, All the best; Peace!
  10. yeah they should rank people by level of a-holeness and immaturity. Now that's a ladder I'd like to see!! There is a lot of stiff competition, though. You can put me and hifi on the bottom of that list, since we are the best. Come now. The both of you excel in both of these areas XD Haha, you would think so nyerguds! And here I was just going to add you to the list bottom, with me and hifi! I guess you can be there if you really want to I would put Irony and Iran there, but we just found Irony and the other guy kept running, so we decided to leave them out for the time being.

  12. As founder of Cncnet, I just wanted to convey some of my views to the devs and community on the future of cncnet and its work on the titles: - PLEASE DO NOT TURN THE GAMES INTO A FRANKENSTEIN MONSTER. That is all. Modification of the game is seen as an affront by being one's own idea of how the game should be designed and against what was intended by the authors. Respecting the spirit of something is a top tenant of our ideals and always has been. However tempting it may be otherwise, please show respect to what things are. This is the reason why I rock and why cncnet is badass. Thank you.
  13. Do the proper thing and turn the other cheek.
  14. Please do not detract nyergurds, it is useful to remember things as they were as a diagnostic but if you can surpass the original design; then you are doing something good. A pure heart see's things together, not apart. We should listen to those who speak of unity.
  15. It will learn to look back in time so it can correct itself. Which is something you guys need to do before you lose yourselves.

    Dear Virgin Interactive

The guy is right in typical reformer fashion: Trying to take credit for something he did nothing towards. If I had seen this advertisement I probably never would of started the movement towards unifying sites and people towards cncnet (not sure about this). But it is here, so I suppose we can say C&C is the embodiment of megalomania dreams and cncnet is a history lesson for those open to learn? I don't like looking towards a future where autonomous division is considered a good thing. May people come here and shine their light upon the pathways of nostalgia so that they might find peace with a state closer to their innocence.
  17. You know, C&C might be one of the most unbalanced games of popular history, but it sure made us work hard to maintain a balance, with rules and regulations and playstyles.
  18. Kicking or banning in principle should be the last resort, as in you are mentally deranged and you might be at risk of causing harm to yourself due to the stress of it. Which would be stupid because you can always log off as you would be forced to balance which is more important: Your life or the feelings you get from the game. We try to keep it straight. Remember you can always turn this off (for the time being).
  19. Yea, mods are all fun and games until they start becoming more popular then the vanilla game itself, then there is running... and screaming...

    Map format

I think it was every 4 bytes, two byes position, two bytes cell info.
  21. Whoops, posted on wrong thread.
  22. Funky, why don't you implement auto-detection of other programs on the network before you start using the internet. You can provide a selection for the first detected client to switch over.
  23. There isn't anything wrong with a logical story. The best films are made by a solid base that acts as a firm skeleton for the meat of the story to flesh out on.
