  1. Last time I used it, you could chose before you started the game. Currently, "automatic" replaced relay, which I don't know exactly what it does.
  2. It depends if its P2P or Relay server.
  3. When you lose connection with the client while in "I'm away" mode, it resets the setting upon reconnection. Shouldn't it be persistent, no matter what state the connection is in?
  4. Aw common Nyer, it sounds like a good project! Go for it!
  5. It would be nice if the connection status to the game server was displayed as an icon instead of a text message: (green/yellow/red circle).
  6. Based on all the experience we have had so far making maps, I don't think there is any excuse for some of the maps we have in the list. I can honestly say that I can't find a continous stream of maps that are worth playing (the same goes for GC maps). Even the best maps we have on offer arn't perfect and really should be worked on more before having them in the list.
  7. He was just trying to attract people to TS in an ill mannered way... We would need an "archive" forum to put this thread in to if we wanted to be proper.
  8. Hehe Nyerguds, I think you know what he means
  9. Nice work in keeping this stuff alive. I don't suppose someone can make a simple inno installer for SS to keep things nice and loose?
  10. Let's just fix the 6 player lack-of, please.
  11. So, you finally broke; eh Jacko? Shame. We really need to cut out the crap maps from circulation and lock in the ones that actually allow for more diversity (ones that arn't designed for instant gratification). That would be a start.
  12. I have seen too many maps which block infantry play intentionally. Should maps be designed that way? What kind of standards do people use when making maps? I think it is destructive to the game to intentionally push situations unless it is a particular game mode concerned, even then, the map should be designed to take it into account (like the original ones). The spirit of the game design is what is at stake and I think its worth mentioning.
  13. It has always been the tradition that the money goes for cncnet expenses only from my knowledge.
  14. Maybe there are better professions out there?
  15. The topic of "Competition being corrosive to the community" has come up and I think a full discussion of it might be good. My position is that competition by itself is not toxic but the desecration of dignity in the view of the mind (subtle disgust and breaking of social norms) can lead to people feeling that the intent of it is bad. Take for example the people who want to be 'on top', who play to the detriment of their personal cohesion by putting too much time into the game: These people can scare off the 'normal' who only play with a casual intent (even if they may be good) by sheer presence. That can be a problem. What is the everyone's view on the issue?
  16. Ah geez comon guys, you still got me banned from the dev chat? Seriously don't make me use some sort of proxy or something...
  17. As responsibile citizens who enjoy a little R&R with age old games, I would like to remind you that this is not a hub for pornography or any other explicit/illigal activities. If you run into anyone who happens to be pilfering/spreading such items, I hope that you report them asap and the situation is dealt with swiftly. Please be responsible on CNCNet and keep the cleanliness of our system. Thank you, CnCNet Founder.
  18. Some time ago, a user came on accusing other people of terrorist activities. While this may not be something we certainly hope exists, any platform which allows basically unrestricted chat room, especially locked one's for free on an unassuming system leaves open holes for people to act. While I was always against any sort of locking rooms from the start, I would hope that people would act responsibly in assisting law enforcement for any activity that may be illigal or dangerous to social calm. The main assistance for that at the moment is that the chat servers are located on USA servers (I may be corrected), which was offered a while ago. Meanwhile, I suggest people go about their way and be responsible citizens.
  19. [interesting, the previous post dissapeared between posting and viewing, apologies for repost] We had a spat and it was considered a little explainitive. The reality is that alot of people suffer from megalomania and that it is common trait amongst men. Original sin, desire to compete and be better and over another is a very common trait. I would sincerely ask everyone to practice a "take a slap on the cheek" way of living. Allowing the situation to escalate or be seen as an excuse for further behaviour: Is not advised or intended. Kindest Regards, CnCNet founder
  20. I just want you to all know that it was just a revelation of the inner desire within all of us to overcome and cause/look for conflict with eachother. It was a no means set of intent on my part. Some might see it that way for their own good, but it is not meant to be used as a excuse for any sort of actions or plans. Taking a slap on the cheek is something on my highest rule set. Seeming 'ability' over another, even if just huff and puff and not really useful is no excuse to put someone into a submissive stance. That goes for everything. Equality and justice is best served that way. Good day. Hope the best for all the users, light interest or no who pass by here.
  21. Matt, do you ever idle in the cncnet dev chat?

  23. Well, the best way is to use the original stock maps as a base.
