Wait, there is a crate map for TD as well? I thought that only RA had this. The best ones are those without resources. Thus, only money is through crates. Thought of 2 more. Tower Offence Kinda like the "Twin Single" Well, this one is very hard for unskilled players. And clearly, I too loose this when it occurs in normal games. I don't click fast enough for that. You may only build defence towers for offence. Further, MCV are allowed to expand or speed up the process of building. NOD vs NOD, NOD vs GDI and GDI vs GDI are possible. Any defence is allowed. Not that SAM's are needed. Super weapons, is it fair to use them? Power Overwhelming Ok, this idea is stupid. But fun for 1 round. Just set the starting money to.... whatever. The ONLY WAY to get rifle infantry is... Power Plant, sell it, Power Plant, sell it. ETC. Best to have no tiberium on this map. Crates? Perhaps modifying an existing crate map. That the things you can build is only power plants. Sure, sure, why not have barracks and amass the infantry?! I would say, noooo barracks allowed. Just let me know which one you like most. And who knows, who else knows of a good match with restrictions. Out of idea's now.

Well, this would only work well with skill based challenges. Because crates are kinda a luck factor. So, no 0 credits with crates on and then some starting units. That would be over waaay to soon. But here 3 suggestions: Big Gamble [starting credits: 2300] + [No crates] + [separate Helipad] Fact: Depending on the map and knowledge of the map. The strategies are still very diverse, but on an absolute minimum. Infantry rush is possible (except high tib maps) Heli rush is possible (especially on 1v1 maps) And of course the basic build up is possible. Which might be still the most rewarding strategy for the biggest or most chaotic designed maps. Crate War [starting credits: ????] + [Crates!] + [starting units: can make a difference] Fact: The map has no tiberium to begin with. Maybe, just maybe, one blossomtree? But that's it. I guess, one needs to be cr(e)ated for this. Choice: Starting units can make a difference in starting speed. Twin Single [starting credits: 10000] + [No crates] Fact: Both players have the same race, and only 1 unit is allowed. Choice: Any defence, is, or is not, an option. Exception: I wonder how NOD vs GDI goes with this one when only APC's or MRLS are allowed . It would be a matter of defences, if allowed, here. And the speed in teching of course. Choice: Super weapons, are, or are not, an option.

17 hours? Reminds me of my longest 1v1 multiplayer match ever (different game though). Replay got corrupted. But the connection remained the entire day

RA Multiplayer Mod - "Tiberian Alert" - by Ferret
X3M replied to Ferret's topic in RA Multiplayer Maps
I had a lot of fun playing one of the maps! New exploration of possibilities is required. Good job! -
This forum needs like buttons. For comments like the theory of tiberium campings and special designed caravans.

Command & Conquer: Dawn of Tomorrow teaser thread

AWESOME!!!AWESOME!!!AWESOME!!! Finally the whole world in TD style. -
It is clearly noticeable that they worked on the AI path taking "off map". And how it compares to your units path taking. Is Natasja going to return btw? Or is she perma dead?
-
Sure, ok, a challenge! Since no one else is pitching them in. Begin with 1. save, try, load. Add 1, save, try, load. Add 1, save, try, load. Etc. Let's see where the number ends up But ehm, if you somehow fail the mission. Before even the first one arrives. Then there is no need for keep trying.

maybe 1 might do the job, who knows. Or would a buggy be better? But is it managable?
-
Just build 10 cycles and jump right in then?

0 versus 0 is very well balanced. I like that idea. d: -
DAMMNn YOUu TRIGGERSs!!! Trying to be to fast on that map is a troll by design I guess.

Sometimes you lack logical speed. Or a logical action that would mean a big difference just like walking in with 20 titans+20 disruptors, could do the same. But then again, first time me playing that map was very slow. Trying to scout everything and watching what the enemy would do. Just as you mentioned, the first time I also lost my CY on that map. After taking over enough power plants of the enemy, I would have build my air right at its base. Shorter flight times etc. And I would have bombed the remaining power a long time before bombing artillery etc. PS. Who is downvoting your video's? But here is the thing. The last time when I played that map. I only used Titans and Engineers. And defeated the enemy before the storm was over. Can you do the same? It is a tough challenge this time.

Or an Apache crate. Wait, can you get Apaches in crates? No, only airplanes would be an airstrike. But crates surely break the game more often than you think. Once I scouted with a buggy on a "long distance" map. Once entering the other dudes base, a wild crate appears. It contained a commando and some other infantry for me. It was super effective. Blowing up his base within 5 minutes of the game. This victory left a bitter taste. But I am sure losing would also taste bitter in this way. Ever thought of trying it yourself? Getting 9 appaches the way I described and simply screw the other guy?
-
I bet he also sold his CY for 2 more Apaches and "1" engineer + some infantry out of the CY. With 10k starting credits, you can reach 9 Apaches in total. Where crates on? A money crate at the beginning can make a huge difference.

Perhaps you should post this also on this forum? https://forum.dune2k.com/ I wish you the best of luck with this tournament.

Let's Play Command & Conquer Red Alert: Counterstrike
X3M replied to TaxOwlbear's topic in Red Alert
I am sure that if it was a legal unit. It would have been very expensive. But there have been more hidden special units in the game. That got written out due to balance issue's and glitches/bugs. The nuke mig has to fly out of the blast radius, or else it dies too? -

Legacy of Tesla is one of my favourite maps. The map design. The Nuke Mig. The limited "Tesla Tanks". And if you know what you are doing, also an easy map. -
do cncnet really know what ping is??? for this game
X3M replied to pingping's topic in General Discussion
Packet loss is a nasty one if it occurs to often. My previous provider caused me to have 20% packet loss. Which was deadly for the FPS that I was playing. I rather play with someone with 1 second of ping, than packet loss or jitter. -
8-bit Armies - a new c&c from ex-Westwood

I think that voxels are actually re-allowing this fast paced creation. https://humblebundle-a.akamaihd.net/misc/files/hashed/0dde4abd56b8871cc84b808260e248c04b434d0b.jpg A lot has been recycled here as well. And that what has been recycled. Doesn't look that good actually. I did the same once with an UT map, where the same object was placed a dozen times in the map. A 3D model needs time and experience. A 3D voxel model is as if you are playing in paint. -

It looks like that even Dune2 and Warcraft where more diverse than this. I have seen similar games that have the same basic design. As if this was a school project. (This time with success) Some how, I have the feeling that they could turn this into something that has much, much more than what we are seeing now. I guess, they have done an experiment with this game. -
I don't think there are any modifiers here. Except for some projectiles not being able to shoot upwards because they bounce of against the corner of terrain. The train only shows an alternate route to the base, through the tunnel. Not that I recommend using it. PS. You might find some knowledge here interesting about Tiberian Sun. https://web.archive.org/web/20080215040938/http://www.petroglyphgames.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2554
