Well, since I was curious, I tested that same map today. Destroyed everything as well. Also checked for submarines by flooding the sea. I spend the last 10 minutes searching for enemy units. Only napalm drops remain. So, indeed the only trigger is the one with the timer.
-
Nooo, you lost 1 power plant But no worries, there was also a good guy napalm plane that drops the napalm in an empty area. And again, and again You build a power plant right there. And he is like, "can't drop there any more". Drops them sooner. And now he is circling like, "still can't drop it there" "have you noticed mr. player?" "Notice me senpai, not dropping napalm on you" He gets a buddy. But suddenly you decide to shoot them down. 1 flees. It was a funny video to watch. Especially your comment when the first mammoths arrived in that empty base. I think challenges make it more fun. Even though, you partially failed this one actually. You missed 1 harvester, and those 2 transports. Who knows what happened if you killed them.

That is one of those missions that, if you redo. With light tanks, and simply run over all those infantry first before attacking his tanks. Indeed get a second war factory, but you can even get a third one if you go triple refinery. But the choice is yours. If you are fast enough, and your initial army has sustained less damage. Than you already can cripple the AI by killing their harvesters and fight off the other units. This mission too could let you kill the enemy base. Try to beat this mission before the 30 minutes expire? Meaning, no more AI around. You may put the speed a bit lower for this one.
-
Every mission was harder back in the day. But destroying the enemy base is a good one. PS. I always sold of every structure that was of no use to me. This certainly includes the GAP. The little money plus extra infantry helps.
-
You say that the medium tank is better than the light tank. This is not true. If you have excellent micro, it can survive an heavy tank. The light tank also has more damage out put. Of course you can forget about this when you play online.
-
Excellent play. And I don't mind if you go tactical for the harvester first. I always did that too. Have you noticed that the infantry actually has a good chance against heavy tanks? And if you included medics (press G, press G) your infantry live much, much longer. Agreed on the grenadiers though, they are a pain. And their range is abnormal compared to grenadiers of other games. Next challenge should be from someone else.

Thank god you also played my favourite of the 3. There is a trick for tanya to destroy much, much more of that base You need to wack that flame tower, it is possible to barely make it. Then blow up the CY and the 2 refineries. Don't go near the heavy tank. And certainly don't go near the teslaT. Now your troops arrive. Then, if you have the artillery left, from the start, the AI infantry has no chance. But make sure you have some FT. Use your tanks to kill any incoming tank. The repair pad is all you need. Use v2 against the base defences, but be wary and retreat again when the AI does... something. There is no air defence. And once you killed their air, your Yaks are completely safe. You can win that mission by losing notching. It is possible. PS. When will you be doing mission 4?

C&C95/Tiberian Dawn- Carry Over Money & Credits vs. Tiberium
X3M replied to MattAttack's topic in Mapping Tutorials
O GOD NO!!! I wasted so much time! -
I understand that you want to pull it off in one go. But losing both artillery is bad, ok? They are good anti infantry material. The same goes for that Ranger. But then again, having some flame towers is nice to have. Good show overall, you did this mission rather fast.

tired of people dcing or w/e and getting pts off ladder

Maybe try this with some one you know and trust. Just play, do not kill each other. Do some SIM base or stuff. And see if and when you get disconnected. If it happens again within a certain time like the serious games. You have a problem with your own connection. If you can keep playing 1 game for hours to no end. Who knows what kind of tricks these people have up their sleeves. I experienced something odd back in the old days with starcraft. It always happened after 3 minutes in normal games and 90 seconds in ladder games. Turned out, some players could simply kick you out of connection if they wanted too. Stealing a win. You got a disconnect. Who knows, something similar might happen here. We blacklisted these people since Blizzard had trouble catching them. We could get certain about these when we played 2v2, with a buddy at the bad guy team. If one of us got kicked, but got communication going with his friends. The disconnection was false. And with a FFA, where we had a team of 5 in secret. Once some started to get kicked out, we knew enough. We had ourselves a cheater again. Low stats or only win stats where always suspected. The so called loser accounts where the only trusted ones for a while. --->>> TRZ After your test though. And you have a "normal" game: Can the admins log of each player, where not only his/her own disconnects are shown. But also how many times their opponents disconnect? If some players have a lot of opponents who suddenly lost connection. You might have a cheater? -
Depends on how many he is going to need to take up the challenge It is a fun challenge though. Not a hard one. It's just funny to see just soldiers winning the day. May I advice you? If you do the alternate version of a mission, like you did with mission 3. Please refer them to 3 a and 3 b. Easier for other people to find a mission that they are looking for. Having to see a 4 while you play mission 3 again is confusion. Same goes for mission 4 in a normal way and the challenge on mission 4.
-
For all I know, this never happens in red alert. But there are different versions, so I wondered. I only get rifle infantry. And apparantly a technician. I am awaiting your mission 4. Since it is my favorite. I don't know if you have done it yet. But I challenge you into using only barracks units.
-
Well, this mission is so boring for me. That I totally forgot about the money crate. I always rushed to the bridges and won without worrying about any thing else. Is it 100% certain that the construction yard gives a new engineer?
-
There is no money for building extra infantry. Although getting the radar dome does provide with extra vision. But frankly, notching else is useful to capture on that mission?

Weird Discovery (or I live under a rock in tiberium land)
X3M replied to MattAttack's topic in C&C 1
Can't you just place the medium tanks with a trigger instead? Sure they pop up out of nowhere. But still. Perhaps you can give medium tanks by continuously sending in hoovers. As long as the WF is standing? A bit odd, but as if they are constructed else where, borrowing the tech from GDI. Good luck with this one, I hope you succeed. -
The one and only that I hate about the sovjet missions. Even when I succeeded that mission. When I replay 2 or 3 years later, I screw up again.

I suggest a system where pro's will meet pro's and new players will be in the new player league. A first time (new created account) will automatically be assinged to the new player league... Once a player has proven skill etc, they can be upgraded to the intermediate league etc... this works great in startcraft. You can also have more then one "winner" .. Ranked 1 of pro league, Ranked 1 of intermediate league, etc.. This helps as well vs point harvesting, noob bashing etc, since you should only be able to play vs opponents in the same league. It will also be attractive to new players since they have the time to learn the game. just some thoughts.. Of course this works. But this time the admins have a chance in assigning the rank to an IP adress. Starcraft 2 has noob bashers who create new accounts over and over again. Just to bash newbs/noobs. Another reason/rumor is that they already have a rank in the top 100 of platina. And simply want to add more to it. Very annoying if you ask me. The system is a good idea, yet at SC2 it lacks maintanance. CNCnet has a chance in doing it better.

...your sarcasm detector is clearly acting like Norton Antivirus. There was no sarcasm there :-\ Well, giving the fact that you know most of us all. It surprises me that you didn't know about this.
-
I meant of the normal campaign. The disable 4 nukes mission was right before. And I guess every one hated that mission of disabling the nukes.
-
Hah! I never realized that xD I smell sarcasm. And yeah, I felt that Sovjets was(is) easier than allieds. Even the Aftermath missions gave me this feeling. The most troublesome for me was the nuke mission. I wonder how you will pull that one off. But the last allieds mission was relatively very easy.
-
Since red alert doesn't have the money exploit. This mission is the only one to do it by placing A LOT of buildings. Notice how the convoy also needs to reach the end for your mission accomplished? If you manage to block the convoy with your own troops, you have plenty of time. Mission 4 is easy, but you can make it easier this way.

The learning curve of cncnet seems to be from 0% at once to 100%. This is waaay to steep. It chases away new players. If I may suggest: There should be some co-op missions against AI. Easy, medium and hard missions. But the key point is a co-op for the new. Reasons: This encourages new players to work together with some one. Facing things alone might be scary/boring etc. The new players need the option to work with other (new) players. And not against other players, but against an AI. Facing another player that has been around for a while is "scary" or troublesome for new players. They know they will loose 99%. And are discouraged to continue playing. Especially when they have been beaten several times. The fun will be gone very quickly. And the game is clearly a waste of time for them now. Most of them are permanently gone. Consider the average player to be weak in mind to continue several weeks. They need at least 1 victory a day. They only get stronger when they get to train at lower levels first. If you think they should train more often and get their asses beat, they will simply leave. That is a fact. I do not suggest this to only TS, but the other games as well. I know that it is impossible with TD, but perhaps there you should (as pro) allow 2 vs yourself. If you still win, allow 3 vs yourself. It worked for me with starcraft. And there where games where I even allowed 7 vs 1 in certain ums maps (clearly I need to be in the team of 7 with cncnet if I where ever to play again)

To bad that people need a chemist to tell which table is best to use. I rather would have seen that there is just one complete one. And a simpler version would have the complex parts blacked out. I have used a table in my study that would scare plenty of people. Simply due to the fact that it is rather unreadable by the ammount of infornation on it. The fun starts with radioactive decay.
