I don't see how this would refute the win rate statistics. 1) The opinions of players over good gameplay doesn't matter when discussing balance. 2) Yes, and this is what leads to the Yuri bias. 3) With how old the game is, that claim is debatable. Also, Andy is hardly a good example for your case. He's been getting beat out of the top 10 this month. Yes, the small sample of CNCNET QM is inconclusive for Yuri, but not for Iraq. Which has had the highest representation and win rate since the CNCNET ladder was released. Not to mention, the logic that a handful of Yuris abusing the faction to beat out the competition also doesn't help refute my point. Yuri was at 55% win ratio by these "abusers," but Iraq's win ratio remains high with even the lower skilled players representing the total. @dkeeton Would you be able to show us some of the more current stats? For engie-eating: simply reduce the number of maps with tech buildings on them. Or edit them out of certain maps. Look at Arena 33 Forever. After the mid oils were removed, that edited version became more popular than the original due to better and less luck dependent gameplay. Alting is legal according to xme, though it's not that effective considering the map pool. Engineering: that's simply the most cost effective strat in the game. Revealing names and reintroducing bailing (which is hard to determine as admin and just adds another layer of work) just because people aren't adapting isn't correct imo. You should ALWAYS expect engies. Not just reveal the names so you can find your friends that share the old xwis code of honor of "no engie" or "no eat."

You spoke to Kireeek or Kinky about a year ago. Don't remember which. You said that if a good yuri rebalance was presented you would give it the ok. I never made the mod though. The mod I currently have changes all factions, which isn't what you wanted. This. This is probably the biggest problem with Martin's mod. Baby steps is the route for a mod. He modded more Yuri units than I did. And my mod was editted 12 times. Didn't say it was "MX" mod. A different, lesser mod. But as I mentioned to you, I never made such a mod to not impose it on the community. Basically, we both had the capability to add a mod to the client. Except I chose not to, and you did.

They had the same range before. Virus wasn't a good unit to use against desolator. It was better to tech and go disks. Among many other reasons lol.

My only concern is that changing Yuri requires changing the other factions too. The balance of this game involves all factions' arsenals. With this "optional" setting, the higher level players that have bias against Yuri will just flip this option on in order weaken him and keep their mindless tank spamming fests with the most dominant country in the game: Iraq.

Why would not anticipating laming be stupid? It's RANKED, you should expect anything. Since laming is part of the game, that's something you should expect.

Of course, but that doesn't refute the original point. Yuri has not been demonstrated by hard evidence to be overwhelming the ladder. Then again, those stats were taken a while back. I say they should be examined again.

@ShowtimeRa2 laming has always been a part of ra2 and yr. It will stay that way unless a multiengineer mod is applied. Also, last time we checked statistics, sovs were dominating by a large margin. Xme last reported stats at 69% win rate for Iraq and 55% win rate for Yuri. So by that logic, Yuri doesn't need to be nerfed, no matter how annoying. @ZAIN there's no reason to see who you're playing against. The reduction of bailing is enough to keep things hidden imo.

Just edit the map you play on. In my mod, I made the barracks and wf immune to spies, but I reduced their cost to 800 to compensate.
