While clan ladder would be cool, it wouldn't really boost activity that much. Most cncnet players really don't care about the competitive scene, and are especially deterred with the ego and toxicity it produces.

Shit, in the current qm map pool Soviet seems the most op. 99% of the ladder is Soviet.

It's not prefect though. How the game actually plays competitively is different than design. For example, tesla troopers are designed to beat tanks, but they actually lose to them in pvp gameplay.

Like prep was saying, it's the game types and styles of play. The sw meta game is the most balanced. However, some miss the old non sw meta games that weren't so centered around waiting your your iron curtain. Plus some styles are their own game all together. Like ToE crates.

Nah, Soviets early game units are great. There's a reason most of the rank 1s on cncnet have been Soviet.

That's because if you're the only human player, it's considered an offline game. There's no latency delays or opposing systems with delay either. Offline games at the highest setting with modern computers is obscenely fast. You'll have to turn the game speed down a bit if you play against computers only.

Cncnet promised classic gameplay only. There's many balance mods out there that have been created. Best bet is to play with those.
