Hello, If you are experiencing slow or choppy gameplay whilst playing on CnCNet, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem. Install the CnCNet client This will look for your existing game directory. Once installed run CnCNetYRLauncher.exe or the shortcut supplied. Click "Options" Select "Display" and under the render options, select a new renderer. Commonly, TS-DDRAW works best. Click Save, and launch Skirmish. Play a game with the AI. If the gameplay is fast then this renderer will likely be the best for you. If it hasn't worked, repeat from step 5 until you find a renderer that works best with your system. Failing the above, ensure your video drivers are up-to-date. You are running a suitable resolution the game can handle.

Hello, Yes CnCNet has a list of renderers you can use built in by default in the options. It's likely checking what you have saved in options. (Which might not be anything) If you open up the CnCNet client, and click "Options", go to Display, look under renderers you have a selection to use there. See next post too.

Hello, From a quick search from other players experiencing this problem, could you try repairing your .NET framework, and making sure your video drivers are up to date?

Hi there, Apologises in the delay, hopefully this is now working again. Please try again (I also sent the emails that didn't send out again, so you may have it in your inbox now).

To me there are players returning or rediscovering online, who are basically new to the game (because they haven't played it in so long, or haven't played online before, just with friends on LAN, or comp stomping etc). The map pool is not going to be this huge set of maps right now. What I did suggest is a couple of maps to get added/removed every 2/3 weeks or so, and that at the end of the month it's reviewed and changed up. The map pool changed from last month, but the 2/3 week map additions/removals need to be automated. Not yet done.

Hello, We need some additional information to help you out. In order for us to work out your issue, we will require your client.log file. Please attach it to your reply. Finding your client.log file: Navigate to your Red Alert 2 folder. This is where CnCNet is installed. Look for the folder called "Client" Inside this folder, there will be a file called client.log

Click "Check Windows Updates". If updates are downloading, or are pending restarts, wait for these to install before trying again. To check if the.NET Framework 3.5 is available in Control Panel and to enable it, please follow these steps: Press “Windows Logo” + “R” keys on the keyboard. Type “appwiz.cpl” in the “Run” command box and press “ENTER”. In the “Programs and Features” window, click on the link “Turn Windows features on or off”. Check if the “.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)” option is available in it. If yes, then enable it and then click on “OK”.

Watch out for custom maps claiming to be "official". Even if they look the same and are not the ones from the "Battle" game mode shipped with the client, they are modified. We've seen some maps that are identical to the original, but with some spots having ridiculous advantages. We're going to be looking at a whitelist system of maps soon (probably in the new year now) which if a map is not in the list, will announce it's "unknown" and "modified" and could contain unfair advantages.

Hello - do you have an anti-virus quarantining any CnCNet files like cncnet5.exe? Check that first.
