Parts of it, I guess.

I guess I need to digg up a rule I haven't used in ages. Please read the forum rules. Though the enforcing of the rules have changed the basic framework stays the same, the rules will be updated soon. locked

It's a hipster video of RA, he used instagram and a sepia filter for every frame.

If the game freezes you should probably change the renderer the game uses.

Ridiculous load times (for saved games) in Tiberian Sun
Tore replied to ryan0991's topic in Tiberian Sun
The first thing you used was probably ddwrapper which has a configuration file. The one I linked to in that topic is IE-DDraw which doesn't have a configuration file. The Graphics Patch and using NoVideoMemory in ddwrapper does the same thing. How about starting with a fresh game.exe, don't apply the graphics patch and try IE-DDraw again. You should also update the drivers of your graphics card and install DirectX 9 (newer versions of DirectX seem to miss some DX9 components) if you haven't already. -
TS works fine on Linux, hell the fix uses components from from the Wine project.

I have no idea, I just copied what Iran wrote

Well try this: Disable all compatibility settings on game.exe and extract this into your TS folder: http://tore.cnc-comm.com/TS_Win8fix.zip
-
Yay. This will be included in the new TS installer (coming soon) which will have Win8 support out of the box!

That's only possible with Arda.

DVD-drive should be fine. I'll look into why this happens.

PortableRA is a distribution of Red Alert 1 by Iran, here are some of the features: - Comes with an easy to use installer - Runs great on Windows 95 and later, Mac and Linux - Completely no-CD, no need to have a random CD inserted - Includes expansions and they can be enabled/disabled on the fly - Comes with CnCNet for online play, lots of players on - Uses CnC-DDraw to modernize the game's rendering system - Is really easy to use, comes with a configuration tool and launcher - Supports high game resolutions (even 3200x3200 works!) - Has a fix for the 'out of sync' issue online after playing modded maps - Allows you to play the Aftermath games with the build speed multiplier cap disabled - Includes and supports all community non-code fixes and additions, such as small infantry - Patched to integrate support for The Lost Files videos and extra, unreleased music tracks - Comes with the latest unofficial patch to the game, ra303p-iran - Completely online compatible with the version of the game used by online player (3.03) - And MUCH more This can be described as the most definite version of RA yet. RortableRA is filled with tweaks and features added by Iran (listed above) Go download it at http://iran.cnc-comm.com/ra/.

This is a odd problem. It is No CD and yes the game is freeware in fact the No CD setup in the game is straight from the freeware release. Does your PC have a CD-ROM drive? The No CD thing seems to have problems with PC's without a CD-ROM drive for some reason. There's a new version of the TS installer coming very soon. It's made from the original TS files and should probably have less issues like this.

Changing the resolution settings in sun.ini doesn't change the menus, but it allows you to see more of the game world while ingame.

I do

Westwood also used the "Tiberian Dawn" name on the C&C product page if I remember correctly.

Setting up Red Dawn for Online play and need help.
Tore replied to Allen508's topic in Modding Discussion
There's been nothing preventing anyone to play on CnCNet with mods before. It's just that non-supported mods don't get their own lobbies and have to use the default lobby. -

Fireworks! As 2012 comes to a close we can look back to a interesting year full of events. Here at the Command & Conquer Communications Center we have seen the revitalized of a truly classic game: Command & Conquer Red Alert with 100+ players frequently on CnCNet, we have seen new interest in making both Red Alert and Command & Conquer maps and several CnCNet versions. But not all is well from 2012. We have seen the death of multiple Command & Conquer fansites the oldest of which is TiberiumWeb.com which has its roots back in TiberiumSun.com among others. We wish you all a happy 2013!

1. Renegade is not freeware and thus such downloads will be 100% illegal. 2. Lots of people playing Renegade on XWIS. 3. CnCNet is mostly about C&C95 and RA95.
