[X3M/CHEMSiSTRY]: Special Physical Properties of Water?
Nyerguds replied to SiRaLeX's topic in General Discussion
I don't think water has an unusually high boiling point. The boiling point of, say, iron, is a lot higher -
This is posted in the "General" section, meaning you never specified the game. I assume you're talking about RA1? I don't think there's any real naval AI in RA1.

C&C without base build.., C&C without tibharvesting..
Nyerguds replied to TheZodiac's topic in Tiberian Sun
Quite impossible. There is literally no C&C team employed at EA anymore since Generals 2 got canned. -
Install the .net framework 3.5
-
just copy the game to a different location where you don't install cncnet on it? Though personally... I could see why someone would use cheats to get through the campaign storyline, but using it in skirmish? That just seems completely pointless.
-
...you don't seem to have any clue what "irony" means. Or what "profit" means, for that matter, if you think cncnet makes any.

Red Alert full game translations - language packs
Nyerguds replied to FunkyFr3sh's topic in Red Alert
Characters depend completely on the ingame font. If the ingame font doesn't have the characters, there's no use adding it. Even if you have a Cyrillic font (like the Russian pack's font) you'd need to convert it to the same 1-byte-per-character text encoding used by the Russian pack, so the characters would match up with the font in the game. I think SibGrem's pack uses Windows-1251 cyrillic for its fonts configuration, which I personally find an odd choice; given the fact all internals are based on DOS-437, I'd have expected it to use the Russian DOS encoding; DOS-855. The way the pasted characters look in the strings editor has no real meaning for these special characters, btw, as long as you start from the correct encoding. I do advise everyone to use the newer version of the editor, though: http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/tools/instr212_0based.zip -
From the video title: "Red Alert 2 remake in Unreal Engine 4" How would that work anyway? You can't exactly run it on the OpenRA engine if it's already running on the Unreal engine.
-
Um. This isn't OpenRA, it's built on the Unreal 4 engine.

C&C without base build.., C&C without tibharvesting..
Nyerguds replied to TheZodiac's topic in Tiberian Sun
Psh. C&C4 still has unit production. It's basically RA1 "pro" play; two lines of tanks going at each other in a reverse tug-of-war until one end wins, with no regards whatsoever to economy -

Can you access the hidden aftermath units with just cncnet?
Nyerguds replied to Never_Enough's topic in Red Alert
It's a program. Called "XCC Mixer". Go google, download and it? As for the extracting... http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/junk/tutorials/xcc-copy-extract.png -
Much easier to just uninstall the security update (kb3086255) which disables it in the first place

Nyerguds replied to Never_Enough's topic in Red Alert
Extract it from the .mix archives using xcc mixer. Probably in expand something .mix -
Put more error catching into that thing, sheesh!

I knew I recognized that name

Or, y'know, just start the tool with Admin rights.

What version of the game are you using?

Note that the original aspect ratio of the videos isn't 4:3, by the way. They're videos that are supposed to be played in a 320x200 frame and then resized to 4:3. But the actual vids aren't 320x200, they're usually 320x156. So just resizing them to 320x240 stretches them far too much. Quite simply, the fix needed for them is resizing their height to 6/5. I've experimented with the PSX videos for the C&C3 mod, and they're already in correct 4:3. They also have slightly better colour quality due to being converted from the original material without 256-colour reduction, but sadly this is somewhat compensated by the fact they use mpeg compression, which has a notorious tendency to fade red colours, which is quite visible in making faces look a bit yellow-ish..

Command & Conquer: Dawn of Tomorrow teaser thread
Nyerguds replied to Kilkakon's topic in Modding Discussion
All right. This works. This definitely works -
Yeah, sure. Skirmish mode in the game is a thing, y'know. Just start RA normally without cncnet? People seem to forget they can do that...

Can I play with modded ini files over CNCnet?
Nyerguds replied to Detoxifier's topic in CnCNet Discussion
It can be done with a modified map, and people will receive a warning that the map has modifications in it. But I think any other kinds of rule changes are blocked by the system.
