Let's Play Command & Conquer - All maps, all missions
Nyerguds replied to TaxOwlbear's topic in C&C 1
GDI 5 is a bit of an odd case, though. It does have four missions internally, though two of them are the same except for the tiberium randomization (which, through study of the N64 missions, I determined to be an automated on-save feature of WW's internal map editor), but the mission #5 selection at the east side of the map has an actual bug in it which makes both choices load the same mission. My patch in fact replaces that mission; the duplicate one was the SCG05WA one, which you uploaded as "5a". Originally, the Ukraine version (SCG05EA) was that duplicate of SCG05WA, with the second Ukraine choice, SCG05EB, being the one hidden by the bug. I switched these two, so you played the previously-lost mission (now SCG05EA) for your C and D videos. I actually found out about this bug by playing the Nintendo64 version of the game; imagine my surprise when I suddenly found myself in a mission I had never seen in the more than 10 years I'd messed around with the game O_o -

Umm... There is no Nod mission 12b. You just played exactly the same mission twice Check the main menu. 29:37 in your A video, and 30:29 in your B video. The lower left corner gives you the internal map name. It says "SCB12EA" in both videos. -

HD Music Pack for Tiberian Dawn (in-game music)
Nyerguds replied to Lightning Hunter's topic in C&C 1
You don't? Huh. You're missing out, man I actually bought the Japanese Sega Saturn version on ebay, because I wanted the official Japanese dubbed videos, and the Sega Saturn version has them in vqa format, meaning they can be used on PC without any conversion. But if you just want the music... here ya go. Ripped straight from the disks, in flac format. [links removed; no longer valid] -

Saturn has the WW-clipped version of Destructible Times in CD quality, though. You can use that one. -
Westwood's FTP is down half of the time not because of flooding, but because of some kind of internal conflict with EA's own FTP server. Half of the time it just connects to the EA one instead. Use of the patches there is ill advised though, with the vast advances we've made in that area here. Well. Except for the CD versions of the post-TS games, I guess. Not sure who locked this...

"even trickier", he says, and then he scouts his construction yard from the north, removing the entire difficulty at the start Apparently it's possible to engineer-rush the enemy base, in this version of the mission XD -

Imma lock this. It's nothing but bashing and whining. -

Huh. I honestly never considered using the artillery for that. I HAVE however commonly force-fired them on the water to take out that gunboat -

Huh? What would be "the proper way"? -

Redistributing the full version of Destructible Times is actually illegal... WW only got the rights to that slightly shortened version. Huh? Those are on the Saturn CD. Unless you mean the Nod ones. (I hope you downloaded the mp3s straight from the streaming source instead of recording it off the site? ) -
HD Music Pack for Red Alert (Version 2 with Stereo)
Nyerguds replied to Lightning Hunter's topic in Red Alert
Well, if Blade wants to figure out how to write such uncompressed AUD files and add it to the tool as option, he's always welcome, of course -
Oh, sure. Now people are actually discussing players and their skill in here, you want it closed?

lol, Blade... they MADE an audio compression format, and it's pretty decent. No reason not to use it, except if you're a FLAC audio freak -
OBSOLETE High Quality in-game score for Red Alert & Expansions
Nyerguds replied to Lightning Hunter's topic in Red Alert
Well as I said, in a more advanced text editor which can search & replace text including line breaks, all that can be done in one single action. Personally, though, since Editpad Pro supports it, I prefer the regular expressions approach: ^(.*?)\.wav$ to audioset.exe \1 Gods, I love regex -
Well, nice to see you're still working on it. I might give it a spin when it's done
-
Use RAD Video Tools to convert it instead.

If you're including graphics from other mods, you better not be planning to release this thing

Nyerguds replied to Lightning Hunter's topic in Red Alert
Yeah, I have no clue how to type that out in a batch file. on the command line, type dir /b *.wav > list.txt This will create a file called list.txt containing a list of all .wav files in that folder. Then you just need to open list.txt, paste the conversion command on the start of each line and remove the .wav at the end, (which is something that can be done rather easily with search & replace on any text editing tool slightly more advanced than Notepad), rename to .bat, and run it. -

WW buildings don't bother fading in the house colour, though. They either build up with it, or build up as greyscale and just switch to house colour after it's fully built. Of course, this is your mod, and your style -

Just use dir /b *.wav and do a search-and-replace to add the command before each line. -
Nifty. Gotta try that out.

Nope. The aud format is about the only thing they used from the C&C game engine. -
If it matches the English version, these two checkboxes should be "read-only" and "hidden". Having certain stuff in the folder set to read-only could indeed give some problems, I guess.
