Damn, these were made with a simle tool... doesn't look bad at all. Could it make skyscrapers etc, with them?

Amazing work man. I take my hat off to you. Yeah, we do really need some nice civilian buildings that are not little houses for TD/RA -Liam

Oh my GOD those look great by the water. And yes, the roads look better squashed. A good example of the squashed look is; look at the tops of the walls, you've just implemented, see how the vertical ones take up the whole cell, but the horizontal wall tops are only about 1/2 or so. Yet, from the perspective, it looks correct. Then look at your old roads. Some look a bit funny. I had the same issue, but was looking at making a full terrain set, so it was (maybe) going to work a bit better. Probably not though, haha... Anyway, looking good. Again... walls by the water... AMAZING!!! Put some turrets and pillboxes on those islands... bet it'll look great!! Peace -Liam

Congratulations guys, it looks great I'm sure someone will eventually stand up to the task of getting C&C95 up to 6 players again. Just one more thing to look forward to. I'm sure you'll have more updates planned and released soon enough. Again, congrats. (and yay, you got past all the whiny players that wanted to stay with cncnet4! lol) -Liam

Looks good. So, I'm a bit confused, have you found a way to add MORE tiles to each tile set, or are these just replacing things? Yeah, my (unreleased) roads have the same perspective issue. Problem is, I want them to be the same amount of squares so that the vehicles move on the roads correctly. -Liam

Lots of light tanks, is how I did it. The trick is to try and get it to stand still... if it's moving then you'll just lose all your tanks. Try to build up a big army, and then save. It's kinda tricky and a bit silly TBH. The story is the best part of that campaign, really... although, some of the missions are interesting ideas (shoot down the president's plane when it flies over, etc). Good luck -Liam Also... I never finished the whole campaign, too hard. HAHA

So, this is kinda a RA renegade style mod for the ren engine, with the aim of being stand alone? Sounds cool, I'm guessing you know of the APB mod, which, seems to be the same kinda idea. Maybe you're planning on making something that feels less like ren? Anyway, I look forward to seeing what else you have in store and seeing this task come along. Hope you guys make something good of it -Liam

Interesting... Can we get bigger pictures of the maps? -Liam

Your mod isn't going to have actual GDI and Nod, yeah? Are you gonna kill the nod emblem off of the radar? -Liam
-
An alternate mode where the MLRS is purchasable after regular comm center for GDI. It always bugs me...A -Liam

Shhh, Nyer, yo makin' me look like a foo'.

If you go to the CnCnet IRC http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=cncnet and then just type in /join #renproj he's pretty much always in there. He'll probably still give some tech support given how much time he put into his project. -Liam

Yes, it doesn't seem to work 100%, I once tried to make the airfield longer, which seemed to create a problem similar to what I'm hearing from you. Although, it also moved the whole thing 1/2 a cell to the right... very strange, and units could drive through some of it. Maybe try hitting up AlexB, not sure how much support he still offers, or if he's continuing his project, but he's always been pretty helpful for me. -Liam
-
Sorry man, I had many of the same problems when making my mod, you just have to juggle the units until they fit close to the stock RA/AM ones. Yeah, I think arda has fixes though... I do love arda, but now it seems to have less and less tech support. I do hope AlexB finishes it. And yeah, I've had to leave the mobile GAP out of my mod also. It causes all sorts of unwanted problems.

Ahh, interesting, he did it all using actual buildings like that... my idea is to have them as blocks of buildings surrounded by roads, with walkways between buildings. And I say walkways, as only inf will be able to walk on them, and the buildings will leave behind impassible terrain, even after they're 100% destroyed. I still have a lot of work to go though.

Nope, no 3D tools used on my SHPs, lol. -Liam
-
Yes, they're just graphical changes, so you can replace the shp files and have fancy looking tanks and stuff. I haven't changed the missile pod, so from certain angles, if the light tank is in grey, yes, it's hard to see. Personally, I don't think it's much of an issue with it. They were designed to be used in my RA mod, so I wasn't thinking about that when I edited them, but I thought they looked so nice that people might want to use them in TD, so I converted them over to the correct pallets for use in TD, nothing more.

Tell that to my mod, and those units you commented on, saying they were nice Nyerguds. xD -Liam

C&C Comm Center: Six years already? July 31st, again!
AchromicWhite replied to Tore's topic in CnCNet News
Nice guys, not only has this place survived 6 years, it's well alive and kicking too. Congrats to the makers and a hearty shout out to all the fans! -Liam -
Yep, just use CnCnet and make it run the Arda launcher as the exe I should pop on and try to get a game with you. I've been out of the loop for a while doing civi time with the UN (I've been in a stage show, lol). I should get back to making this mod, but it gets tedious sometimes. To answer the earlier question, the urban terrain is for RA, it will replace the interior tiles.

Sounds kinda similar to how I do mine... except my editing often happens in paint xD Very nice though man. Gee I love the way these old SHP models look -Liam
