(I forgot to reply to this post the other day) That's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but I think it's unfair to call Sean, Grant and anyone else from xwis working on RA2/YR, 'XWIS rejects', not to mention it's a little harsh! They're doing a good job, and even if they weren't, don't forget that they're doing it for the love of the games, and for free. If anybody out there can help out or do a better job, I'm sure they'll welcome it. If 'Download the YR client' fixes problems, then why not? If it stops my keyboard from burning, then good. If it fixes my wife's pms, I'll be downloading 50 copies! I think it's great that these guy are continually working on fixes for things like Win 8 and Win 10 problems, something that a big name developer is too cheap to pay their programmers to work on. P.S. - Sean is a big bla... I mean... African American man... don't mess with him or he'll whoop your ass!

I'm all for CnCNet now due to so many reasons. But out of respect for xwis/strike-team, the server and community that has given me RA2/YR enjoyment for so many years, I feel I have to somewhat add my 2 cents worth of defending it: Although XWIS (XCC Westwood Online IRC Server) wasn't mentioned as being the 'official' RA2/YR server by an EA/Westwood staff member (not to my knowledge anyway), when Apoc was the EA Community Manager, he did acknowledge the new server to be a 'partner' of EA and also 'the main online game server' for all the classic C&C games. For those interested (and have the time), this should hopefully make things clearer (I apologize for my sig ): http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/172772-the-dawn-of-xwis/ Also, in EA's EULA (End User License Agreement) regarding The Ultimate Collection, it state's that 'ACCESS TO ONLINE FEATURES FOR CERTAIN TITLES REQUIRES REGISTRATION ON THE XWIS COMMUNITY SERVER'. It does not mention any other server or community. Lastly, just a little Q&A with DonCarlo (a retired xwis admin) and Olaf, about the WOL ->XWIS redirection. ----- Remember guys, what's important is not what's best for the servers, but what's best for the games.

About map categories... Naval War: 'Wild Animal Park' and 'YR_Rekooooool' shouldn't be in this category Isle of War, Little Big Lake, Cold War Breakaway, as well as many other naval maps should also be in this category. Nukewar, Airwar, Duel, Teamgame (these 4 categories seem unnecessary at the moment): Nukewar - imo, should allow players to make nothing but Nukes (no tanks or planes or anything else). But I've never seen any such maps. Airwar - This category should allow nothing but air units, but I haven't seen such a map. Duel - Isn't this the same as Battle (which is now Standard)? Tbh I've never really understood why there was a 'Battle' category in RA2/YR because... aren't ALL maps for battle? Teamgame - is the same as Team Alliance Co-op Maps: Campaign 2, Map 1 keeps crashing. The two REDZONES maps and YR_Rekooooool aren't co-op maps. A good category to add is 'Survival'. There are some pretty fun survival maps out there.

It's like 2005 again! I was going to post this at xwis so they can join the party, but I don't wanna get a warning for advertising other websites I just wish the staff here would hurry up with the ladder already so we can all finally be one again! But seriously, if you think about it, once the ladders here are up and running, it's basically xwis (but way better), but with a different name.

I was trying for 30 mins or so yesterday to get a coop game going but nobody wanted to play with me Somebody finally did and it crashed I'll try again later. Btw, client is awesome and like I said in another topic: The guys with no resources, no time, no payments, no professional training with C&C games, have done a waaay better job than those who have at EA. I have no idea what it's for. -What's 'Persistent Game Lobby'? -Lastly, which one of you guys is 'Gaylord'?

Way too slow though, and still too many incompatibilities (I think because the VM isn't 100% the same as a stand-alone OS). I've ran into a few problems with running things on VMs in the past, mainly with drivers.

Don't people dual-boot anymore? I haven't done it since WinXP & Vista, but what I don't get is: Why don't people dual-boot their newer operating systems with their older ones, especially when -internet forums are sprinkled with Win 8 & Win 10 incompatibility problems -HDDs aren't that expensive these days so you have the choice of buying a larger HDD and partitioning it, or separating each OS on an individual drive -If you're unsure of how to do it, there's always Google and YouTube and computer forums and friends and... Is there something I'm missing? I don't get why people don't do it. I understand with Win10 being a free upgrade, which makes it tempting to replace your old OS rather than installing both, but people have always made complaints about their new OS not doing what their previous one did, ever since I can remember (from Dos -> Win 95, 98 -> XP -> Vista...)

Everytime I look at my C&C *Ultimate* Collection, I smh ; People that aren't even paid for their C&C related work, have never worked for Westwood or EA, no inside knowledge or material such as source codes or any official coding documentation, lack of spare time - have done a waaay better job than those who have all that.
