when playing Tib Dawn this one time, a player attacked me with about 20 bikes, and his units were fighting my units in my base, when a crate spawns. I grab the crate and it drops a nuke on the battle between 2 armies, wiping out all of his units and most of mine, as well a few of my buildings :|
1. Tiberian Dawn is probably the only game you can almost guarantee this will not happen
2. Because nobody can be bothered to set for 4 people, they just kick excess people. Besides 8 player games (without laggy players) can be really really good.
3. It depends on what map you host, but generally you lose out on a majority if you're not playing da rASSta or some other garbage map like that.
I think trapping infantry on non-passable tiles works in a similar way, but all other cells needed to be occupied by a similar non-passable entity (including trapped infantry)
I knew of the jesus trick but I could never time it correctly and the dude would just sit on the beach.
the thing is though your previous names remain on the system, so if one day you login with a different name, when people check who you are ALL your previous names are listed to them. So its difficult to hide.
It was always a lot of someone asking how to do something in RA and then the next post is "how we did it in OpenRA"...
great you can do it but you're not answering the question or helping in any way. I'm with cn2mc on this one where its cool and all to have an opensource... redevelopment which is similar (not the same) to RA/TD/Whatever, but it gets annoying when we get 100 different plugs on how OpenRA does stuff in useless places. I'm not a particularly big fan of how OpenRA plays either, but it looks good for customisation and mods and stuff.
I'd plus one that kind of single-player gameplay. Maybe losing a battle on the odd occasion opens up a different path of missions instead of having to beat them all one by one. In fact Tiberian Dawn did something very similar to this (but only maybe once), where destroying the "wrong" building for GDI mission 6 (the commando one) forces you to play an extra mission on the same map. Also one of the original "features" for the Nod campaign was you had to find all 3 crates to be able to use the nuke in the final battle, which was a buggy (and since removed) thing. I'm sure Nyerguds knows all of that stuff like the back of his hand.
you can always change the required tech level for structures you dont want built.
Set them all to like 70 or something and then when you launch play from a lower tech level setting
1. No, RA3 sucked.
2. No C&C4 sucked even more
3. No, they tried and it got cancelled
4. No.
5. No, see points 2 and 3
oh and btw C&C development got shut down, so... thats it.
