I've had a similar idea in the past to make an RTS game that has very similar gameplay to RA2. Sadly I'm no programmer either, I can do graphics, web, level/map, visual designs. Your best bet is the OpenRA project, though they might change the gameplay dramatically for balance purposes. I'm not really a fan of the way they balance games. -

Your tutorial is too long for "how to write on map preview". Most of the video shows how to make a map, which could annoy some people who look at this tutorial just to see "how to write on a map preview". If you want your youtube channel to be more successful you should try to make sure the video title & description actually represent what the video is about and don't mislead people.

Because there was discussion regarding bailing and major issues with the ladder, dkeeton made the most logical choice and implemented it. If both players need to enable the setting for hiding names then the option becomes useless entirely, as it's supposed to deter players from bailing certain players or factions. While the suggestion of showing player names only in-game tab menu is reasonable, in all probability it's going to result in players disconnecting immediately after checking tab. Once they realise they are against someone they don't like. Refer to the above reply (quote), there was discussion regarding major QM issues. This just wasn't mentioned as a specific and accepted solution. He has a habit of doing that, though I'm impressed that he's kept up some maturity recently.

If the majority of QM players knew of this thread then why didn't they vote? Your sentence makes no fucking sense. If they DO KNOW ABOUT IT, then they WOULD VOTE, not ignore. I agree, Ziggy is trying to use some weird nonsense sentences to explain the lack of votes too. Hard to build this community in any direction, if most complain on some Skype chat in private and only play if some miracle things go their way. Looking at players like JokuJak, olaugh, mindwar...

@Grant @dkeeton After each of the last 2 updates v3.90 & v3.92, when logging into the lobby, the client shows a dialogue to notify that there's an update available and if I want to download it. This appears immediately after updating, so it can be a bit confusing to users.

So waiting for tanks to build up, trying to pick off miners, watching for splits, waiting for opponent to make a mistake, trying to lure tanks into deso, picking stuff off with planes...etc Is all so skillful while most of what I mentioned is not? Yeah I can play like everyone else, but I've gotten bored of that, most games against evenly skilled players, you just fucking wait for sw or lab units. It's so fucking boring when people want a dune patrol style sov v sov tank fest. The gratification of blowing someone's base up straight from the get go is too great to resist.

A lot of things are missing I'm not bothered to cover everything, there's too much, I just noticed that a lot of people get the basics wrong and it's going to cause problems on their maps. If there is a lot of demand for a certain subject I will add it. I suggest you look on ppmsite if you really want to make single player missions. If you want to make multiplayer missions you should try to find some that you can 'copy' open the maps up in FA2 and look at the triggers, it's the triggers that turn maps into missions. The pink thing is a tutorial for making cliffs... In any map.
