Scalpem, I think the best way to go about this is for you to communicate with frequenzy and heldro a time where you 3 can be online, then you find a friend online at the time or pre-arrange a friend to be available :D. You obviously have free reign to pick whomever is available and not already in the tournament.

OK, We can plan for tomorrow. Leo and I will be OK all day. Let's try to set up a time? I'm not sure the time differences and where you guys live, but I see you on mostly around 10am CST, how does that sound? (convert it to your time). If one of my teammates can make it, then we are set.

Echoing the comments, but i'll say keep the vetos to just 4. I don't have a strong opinion on that -- and it looks like more vetos at 6 is a head. Either way -- more maps :D.

Good questions. 1) the tournament was mostly random with the exception of marsh+kinky vs matt/maax since both teams wanted to face off against each other first. Also, I put myself as admin into the other first game spot for fairness. 2) I'd say the opposite team gets to pick spots --> i.e. loser picks map, but winner picks spots.

K guys, unfortunately since we have 11 teams that means 6 teams are going to have to play an 'extra' game while 5 teams will be in 'round 2' automatically (i.e. have first round byes). Now, my thinking is that I can put the top 5 teams (which I project) into the byes. I can either do this or I can completely randomize the bracket. My top 5 teams in no order: Matt+max, Marko's Squad, Buff's squad, Marsh/Kinky, Tim+ZigZag I could give these teams byes and have the rest in the first round, or I can randomize bracket. Anyone have a say?

Sorry -- good point, these are terms that were talked about in the ladder thread, let me elaborate: rp = calculation based off of rating points. You can see that rp = (rating1*rating2)/230,000. Every player in the ladder has a rating (that correlates to the badge you see on the ladder). This rating ranges from something like 1100 to 1500 (1500 being best). Now, when you match someone, that is how rp is calculated. Rating1*rating2/230,000. In the previous month, the denominator of 230,000 was more like 120,000 so we saw a MUCH larger impact coming from rating calculation. We saw this with new players gaining +8 for the first win, while top rated players we're gaining +35 for being 0 point players. WOL = wol points is essentially the same system from www.xwis.net/xcl and the old WOL ladder. There is a topic on XWIS here: http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/69485-yr-points-system/ I made a slight variation to the WOL points by instead of having an exponent denominator of 400, I placed it to 600 to better reflect CNCNet point system. relo can be calculated from here : https://ratings.fide.com/calculator_rtd.phtml where I think the kvalue is 40. Overall the total points won comes from all 3 of these.
