Yuri's Revenge gameplay lag after GPU upgrade to AMD 9700xt

I recently upgraded my PC with an amd 9700xt. Whenever I start a multiplayer game it becomes unplayable due to slow fps/lag. I booted the game up on my laptop running a 3070 and old desktop with a 3080 and don't experience the same problems.

 

Has anyone else run into issues when using an AMD GPU?

Could try the onboard graphics for the older game instead of the new. 

Otherwise the usual thing to try is the renderer change in the client options.
