Maybe it calls another DLL that isn't included in net4? You know that in Windows there are a lot of dlls that do the same thing as others dlls, using same function names, etc.

Red Alert name should be renamed to Spam Alert... Snakes of Teslas coil... Thousand of Heavy tanks... What else we can add? I would love to see RA engine full supporting Tiberian Down...

CnCNet doesn't work with Win95/Win98 compatibility
pichorra replied to Iran's topic in CnCNet Discussion
Here we go again... Well, Yes, Windows 98/ME compatibility force the application to use always one core. But it somehow differs Win95 compat mode in mouse handling. cnc-ddraw singlecpu isn't enabled by default due problems with old Pentium 4 with Hyper-threading Technology. If it is enabled the game with use the half of an core, and simple lag everything. I confirm it, since my main computer is a Pentium 4 -
Hyper said to me that that (is that correct? O_o) the Tiberian Sun do have a BackBufferInVideoMemory line in sun.ini, but it is unused ingame

pichorra replied to Iran's topic in CnCNet Discussion
use cnc-ddraw. I'm sure that you are not using it. http://hifi.iki.fi/cnc-ddraw/ -
I made it work in a Win98 computer. It just need a recompile. At least for C&C95
-
- Use QEMU to install Windows 95 on it. - Boot and install C&C95. - Download CnCNet and try to run it. You might need WSOCK2 update (google it). - Play online.

You don't know how to use the command prompt? well... it is a kind weird... Well... let me see if I can make those things easy for you. Create a new folder anywhere. Extract those tools to that folder Right click in Start>All Applications>Acessories>Command Prompt, and make a shortcut to desktop. Right Click on the shortcut that you created, and then go to propieties. On the ShortCut tab, you will see a blank space "Start In:" with "%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%" (XP). change that to your working directory (like C:\Projects\Mods). Open it, you will be already inside your working directory. type "dir" (wihout quotes) to see the all files inside it. Note that the .bat tools are listed there too, so you just copy it's name and press ENTER. Note that special options will be required to use'em propiertly. you can read a quickly tutorial to DOS/Windows Command Prompting here. @Tore: The tools buttons is a crap to see under Google Chrome.

Well... That seems that we will need to get some stuff back from Wine... Did you guys test with Windows XP to make sure if it is really 7/8 related?

How to create "teams" during gameplay on a Mac?
pichorra replied to T2 - ForceOfEvil's topic in Red Alert
I know that linux locks ALT keys unless you press the WINDOWS key before ALT or relase it under GNOME menu. Try WinKey+CTRL+1. Mac system should have the same option anyway. -
isn't Red Dawn using v3.03? So the correct DLL would be the WSOCK32.DLL, not THIPX32.DLL Anyway, if you only want to only play in LAN, then Download this. It is just a IPX wrapper for Red Alert 1.

Nyerguds: Batch scripts does not work in Mac/Unix. EXE do trough Wine. FunkyFr3sh: There is a way to do that in C trough RegCreateKeyEx() and RegSetKeyEx(). But I will need to take a look at Windows handle stuff and crap like that.
-
replacing an EXE file with a batchis not a wise decision when cross-plataform compatibility is aimed. You know that.

Article: A look under the hood: C&C's special mission behaviour code
pichorra replied to Nyerguds's topic in CnCNet News
If the enemy money is 0, he will understeand that he got no base, and he should not sell buildings. I've already did a mission and gave to him no money. Also, the enemy repair faster when the tech level is higher. you know -
Tiberian Dawn - The Huge Collection (single player)
pichorra replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Thanks. What about the buildlevels from 16-97? Do these do anything, or are they the same as 15? I've seen some missions set to random things like 30, 96, etc.. Edit: Hey Solo, Aren't SCB140 and SCB141 supposed to be a campaign? Also, all the Frank Kohlrus maps (SCB142-156) are supposed to be part of a large campaign also, right? Why are these map set up as individual missions? Can't they be together as one entry like Wounded Eagle? 16-97 are the same as 15.
