  1. Slave Miners =/= infinite money. Yuri players can very well lose all cash, the slaves are quite vulnerable. And in that case, if one Slave Miner is ground, it's only enough for a Magnetron or even less. A full comeback after losing an army isn't quite possible, while slight additions to an existing army may or may not end the stalemate. This does not make it an instant OP comeback. Think about it. Now it's as nooby as a 10 min no rush on the map Afghan. Now how is that a good argument? .... what? Also, what ore_truck said. Learn what balancing actually means instead of dumping ideas more appropriate for a mod nobody would play.
  2. Why? That's as nooby as a 30 min no rush on Rekool. The concept of a mod seems foreign to you. From OP to completely worthless?
  3. While staying on the same client (for all CnCNet games for that matter) would be the best course of action, you're trying to prevent something that happened a very long time ago. Look at XWIS' YR lobby. Perhaps a dozen people, barely one ladder match a month. It's been like that for years, even before YR was supported on CnCNet. The community is already split, which is natural when a game has a distinct expansion pack. Get over it. Personal preferences should not come above efficiency. Argumentation of tech-related matters with subjectivity is pointless. Also, true RA2 gameplay can hardly be achieved through the RA2 mode - even if it can be done theoretically, it would take a much longer while. YR Hospitals are indeed more useful, but who uses them in either when infantry is basically there to die, except one-time-use Engineers and commando units that you micro anyway?
  4. That can be done in the process, same as with RA1. Says someone who supposedly played a lot of RA2 and YR
  5. Because it's the most efficient and proper way to do it. People discover more and more differences, and instead of modifying the YR client/spawner, it would just be easier to make an RA2 spawner and be done with it forever. It won't. The community is already split between RA2 and YR fans, and that's perfectly normal.
  6. I am! How much do you pay? I don't usually work for free. Ah, so you're one of those guys who want money first so they can run away with it without work?
  7. Giggles. YR is, by far, the better game, from a technical standpoint. I vote for Plokkite_Wolf to get his head out of his ass and create the RA2 spawner, since he is so skilled and knows more than all of us together! I'm sure it will be no problem for him. You're supposedly a C++ pro, I'm sure you'll have a blast with it
  8. It's a few videos that were curiously omitted from the final game, and Nyer found them in a TFD bonus disc montage. Here are two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_y3-FuMFaA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOedmYjtS8s
  9. OpenRA has nothing to do with any CnCNet server. Do think of what you're posting. Also, they do have the liberty to promote just as CnCNet does there, because neither side has (yet) excluded the other. Fanboy.
  10. OpenRA isn't completely unrelated. It's an open-source implementation/reimagination of three titles that are supported on CnCNet. People can be interested in and play both, you know. This is as good a place as any to get people who might be interested in OpenRA to follow the tournament. This wasn't intended as a CnCNet-only forum, it was a forum which belonged to CnC-Comm, which did focus on pre-RA2 titles, but was still open to anything C&C/Dune. If there's a "Newer C&C Games" (for Renegade onwards, which aren't supported on CnCNet) subforum still standing, than OpenRA damn well can be advertised here.
  11. Nobody prevents them from doing that. They have a right to advertise themselves. The only problem is the way they do it.
  12. The "official dev team clarification" is available at http://www.openra.net/about/. It's not our job to stalk everybody on the internet who has an opinion on OpenRA and post corrections if they write something wrong. I do sometimes, but only as a hobby (you wrote something wrong, by the way ). OpenRA's RA and TD mods are modernized remakes, whether you like it or not. Feel free to argue about the semantics of the word "remake", but i'll point out that the definition I use (which allows for changes to make it suit a modern audience) is wide-spread enough to have its own wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_remake Modernized, pretty much. But I don't see anything remade. The graphics are identical to the original ones because they were literally copied (except for the newly added stuff like the Flak Truck I mentioned and a new UI which is surprisingly in the spirit of RA). ORA also changes the gameplay considerably, so that's not a remake, it's more of a reimagination.
  13. Not really. Removing the mod name would imply that this was a cross-mod league, which it isn't. Right, OpenRA did have cross-mod tournaments. But still, OpenRA should be stressed in the name.
  14. It's all well and good, OpenRA is quite different from regular RA, and with some changes I can agree with (like the Soviet Flak Truck), it's just that it needs to stop pretending to be regular RA when advertising itself. An OpenRA Global League would have been a more appropriate name. You're being a fanboy in another direction.
  15. Have you tried playing with the settings in the configuration tool? Did you apply the single processor affinity option, did you try the Graphics Patch? As for RA2 and YR, you'll basically need these (follow the instructions closely): http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/182360-cc-red-alert-2-windows-8-windows-10-fix/ http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/182482-cc-yuris-revenge-windows-8-windows-10-fix/
  16. Run it as administrator, or better yet, launch the game directly from game.exe instead of the launcher.
  17. Renegade has a dedicated server system, which you can create and join as you wish. CnCNet had a master server list for some time, but it was closed recently.
  18. Yes, all of them. By running their exe-s instead of the CnCNet client.
  19. Since we are attacking everyone here apparently. Oh you are the one to talk. Mister I haven't patched a thing in years. You are as much responsible if not even more for the state TD may or may not be in as any one of us, if not even more cause you have abandoned it. Are you idiotic enough to attack the sole person left in the world to know as many bits and pieces of TD, who didn't abandon it for teh lulz, but for real life obligations? Just because FunkyFr3sh and Iran are desperate and impatient doesn't mean they can push sloppy code out the door.
  20. "outdated" lol Nyerguds' version is the only non-Westwood version worthy of anyone's attention, really.
  21. Even total noobs know France is considered OP on those Grand Cannons, you know
  22. It's kinda been linked to many times before. http://tore29.com/tsins/TSinstaller3-beta11r6.exe
  23. Did that someone check if his music volume was set to 0?
