  1. RA2 was never made for the Mac. Use Boot Camp or a Windows virtual machine in VirtualBox or VMWare.
  2. Links for all platforms work alright from what I can see. Is your browser trying to block the download for some reason?
  3. For PS3 and PSP, yes.
  4. Um... why?
  5. Yeah, but if you still have your discs, you can fill in the missing files. Made complete playthroughs of RA2 and YR campaigns this way.
  6. 10/10 would play a board game with
  7. Fucking Wikipedia and word of mouth.
  8. Comrades! 20 years ago, on 31 October 1996, Command & Conquer: Red Alert was released! What are your favourite memories from playing this game? I've also made a small commemorative post on GameReplays to help the nostalgia and memories flash :redalert:
  9. Aside from force-firing, I think you can directly target a Mirage Tank when it is in the appearance of a tree if it has already shown itself to you while you were looking in its area.
  10. As I said... Ditch McAfee and get a real antivirus.
  11. Ditch McAfee and get a real antivirus.
  12. ? FilePlanet is pretty much toast now. What you linked to is an archive of the old GameFront which was already canned earlier this year and redirected to The Escapist for a few months afterwards. DBolical, the company behind ModDB/IndieDB/VRDB bought the rights to GameFront name, logo and domain, and managed to get hold of the file database, but not the files themselves. This is their list of all missing files that the community can upload (you can just slap "gamefront.online" - without www - instead of "www.gamefront.com" in the files' URLs to obtain them easily). I've personally been uploading many official patches and other official releases for several different games on the new GameFront system/ModDB. I've covered most of C&C, without Sole Survivor, TFD and TD 1.04 / DOS 1.22. @Nyer - as you said, this is currently just a different a different UI for ModDB. This is only a temporary change, though. http://www.moddb.com/groups/gamefront/news/rebuilding-filefront
  13. Recently reinstalled Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath from the DVDs, the hanging appears to be a usual thing. Just be patient and don't interrupt it.
  14. Not really, removing and blocking the update is short and efficient. It also doesn't affect anything else on the system. On Windows 10, however, manual insertion and activation of the driver is the only option (well, other than using cracks).
  15. Make sure you block it from the pending updates list after you uninstall it so it doesn't return.
  16. Never understood myself why only allied could do this (since if Soviet had it they had a kind of grinder like in YR but in RA2, which is kinda cool I guess), but in YR 1.001 they decided to strip the feature completely from the game. In this case, I do think this was an oversight on their part, maybe a remnant from Tiberian Sun coding (they didn't even bother replacing the tiny TS green sell cursor). The Allied Service Depot replaced the Tiberian Sun Service Depot in coding (since there was only one there), so the unit sell coding applied only to the Allied one, not the Soviet one.
  17. Windows 10 can't run the RA2 installer for some reason. I've made a bypass solution here: http://forums.cncnz.com/topic/19497-original-ra2yr-cds-vs-windows-10/?p=225594
  18. Did you apply XWIS' fixes and follow the instructions carefully? http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/182360-cc-red-alert-2-windows-8-windows-10-fix/ http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/182482-cc-yuris-revenge-windows-8-windows-10-fix/
  19. Now re-read what I said and see how little your post relates to it, Mr. Smug.
  20. Rich, coming from an even more arrogant attention seeker. I don't think there's a lot of people in the world who play old games online without checking if their official servers even exist, so yeah, a mere peek at introductory pages of each fan-hosted service is kind of a must.
  21. Explain to me how is it complicated. You register on the XWIS forums, you get your 8-character password for the server, you go to their control panel and assign a serial key for a nick. And if you want to play a game that's neglected there like Emperor: Battle for Dune or RA1, you can just use a nick from the game's internal interface (though I don't believe those stick to the account and may look like CnCNet-style freedom for those). Yeah, the first period would need a hell of a lot of moderation. Yes, but their multiplayer distribution of RA2 (and maybe YR) has that feature built in.
  22. On XWIS, you need to first register, and then spend an RA2 serial to make a nick. Beats CnCNet's free entry to anyone wanting to pose as you. If you find simple registration to be hard, I have some bad news for you.
  23. True (and that goes for every service ever)... They can (and did) develop some things Westwood never did, like that auto-screenshot mechanic. They also fixed both RA2 and YR for Win8/Win10. So, they can develop beyond WOL constraints, particularly the executables. They also have a registration system that makes it harder to impersonate people. Makes every claim of a game dying that much funnier
  24. Every remotely reputable multiplayer service bans hackers and cheaters. So basically, you're complaining on Neogrant telling you that he has evidence of you cheating (which admins do) and call it bullying? Sorry, but if you really did nothing wrong, you'd be all over the place trying to prove it.
  25. Basically, you encountered a regular whiny brat. Your gameplay isn't wrong in the slightest, since you didn't use any hacks or exploits. Neither of these is a problem on a competitive level in later C&C games, why is this so controversial here?
