Note that The First Decade, The Ultimate Collection, and XWIS releases already are.

Please follow these guides to install Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge.

It's OpenRA. Considering how every obnoxious fanboy links it everywhere they see fit, it's surprising there are people who still don't know about it.

Tried changing the renderer?

What makes this even more awkward is that the mission itself is misleading to the commander in-universe, as stated in the very next cutscene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4bSNYqDh0Q -
Please follow these guides for installing these titles on modern systems: Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge

The only official ones are English, German, French, Chinese, and Korean. The rest is fanmade.

By running TSConfig.exe after patching your installation of Tiberian Sun with this. It will also allow you to change your renderer to something more functional. Rampastring's TS client is good and all, but it modifies the game itself in such a way that it isn't compatible with the standard TS.

Can't Save Game (Mental Omega) in Windows 10
Plokite_Wolf replied to khalidbashirbajwa's question in Support
Mental Omega uses the Ares DLL which expands YR's codebase, but breaks savegame compatibility. This was known from the start, but the next version is announced to have savegame functionality working. -
This is due to the renderers being a bit touchy on Windows 10. If the renderer you currently have set in your YR CnCNet client is the only one at which the game will run properly, then your only shot at minimizing the issue is closing or minimizing any background applications which have moving elements (Skype emoticons, YouTube videos, etc.)
-
Add the CnCNet client to its exception list. Or better yet, ditch Norton, as it's quite infamous for raising alarms over false positives.
-
Make sure your firewall and/or antivirus has exceptions for the following files: CnCNetClientYR.exe gamemd.exe gamemd-spawn.exe mphmd.exe ra2md.exe

Same answer.

In the CnCNet YR client, go to the Options menu and experiment with graphics renderers until you find one that works for you. You can start skirmish matches against the AI from within the client to test this.

RA2/YR was never released on the Mac. You'll need the Porting Kit or use Boot Camp.
-
Did you download and install the YR client? Are you able to run it and open a room in it?
-
Good to know, thanks!
-
Just logged in through the main (non-YR) CnCNet client probably after 2 years of not doing so. Prothid.NY.US.GameSurge.net keeps refusing me on the account of "bad username", though Gameservers.NJ.US.GameSurge.net accepts me. Should I be worried?
-
In RA2, they didn't even exist.

Those reasons are due to the OS and people not bothering to troubleshoot. I never played with as many AIs, but back in the day, it'd only lag with nukes and custom-scripted maps had extended loading times (on the plus side, I knew how Jank sounded in entirety before it was widely accessible on YouTube...)

You can buy a computer that was believed to be a piece of shit in 2000 and still play it.
