how to play Campaign?

I know its a online client but I am on windows 10 and the only way I can play RA2/Yuri is with this client  ( I own the real disk First decade )

I'm having a lot of fun playing  skirmish and online.  If I launch the game normally without client it just crashes.

Unless there is a way I can use  TS-Draw without the client.

Update. I found a few patches fixes online but none of them worked. They crash or lag.

Nah man. I tried all the patches people uploaded , none of them work. The only way this game runs is with the client.

The game won't run normally only with the client from here. I'm guessing one day they will add the campaign here on the menu.

One thing you COULD do is use make a brand new folder with the game in it nothing else no mods no CNCNET. Then copy and paste your renderer .dll file in that folder. All I'm trying to say is I use windows 10 and it works fine with me. So, for example, make a new folder called Ra2 then install these 4 links then copy your renderer into the folder. This is how I got this working for my use.

RA2: http://xwis.net/downloads/Red-Alert-2-Multiplayer.exe

YR: http://xwis.net/downloads/Yuris-Revenge-Multiplayer.exe

Compatibility Patch: http://www.mediafire.com/file/x3p4x2ambdzlzn7/Compatibility_Patch.zip

Soundtrack: http://www.mediafire.com/file/io5w550ld6xq5vx/Soundtrack.rar

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjEwtfQrGzY

Note: Make sure you install these to the folder you made for the game. Another thing is DO NOT install CNCNET to this folder you will mess it up then. This is a free download I use this.

One last thing. You use TS-DDraw Right? Well just copy TS-DDraw.dll across into the folder you installed those links too. This worked for me.

i have the same trouble with old games. some older games arent compatible with interlacing. go to your graphic settings and set your frame rate (fps or refresh rate) to 60 htz. do not select one with (interlacing). this solved the "unable to set video mode" problem on windows vista and after but i have new problems now. hope yours works though.

wouldnt it be awesome if cncnet allowed you to run the campain with there client ....... that would be amazing @Grant

would also be problematic from a legal point of view.

When you say it just crashes what exactly happens? You need to play around with compatibility settings. If u have skype add me on cnczigzag and i can probably get u up and running.

Go to Resources folder and copy "ts_ddraw.dll" to your CnCNet YR folder, rename "ts_ddraw.dll" to "ddraw.dll", then launch the game via ra2md.exe, let me know if it works

Ra2/Yr is not freeware, the same reason XWIS doesnt provide campaign's/music in the MP client, at no point on cncnet do you have to enter your serial number, to provide the campaign through the client would most likelly open them upto a possible lawsuit.

I could but it may not work, depends on his setup.

XWIS does feature music downloads. Proof

How so? He's not asking you to include the full download of the campaign missions etc., just a feature in the menu that would lead to existing files. You'd still need them installed beforehand. The standard retail version from 2001 can't run without the SafeDisc driver, which the YR client bypasses.

Maybe because it's just for multiplayer and it has everything required to play on XWIS? (For example, Auto SS, which is not available in the original RA2/YR)

I added the Music downloads. They are not in the client. It probably isnt allowed even the way it is. This was confirmed by our EA contacts at their German Office.

You could probably provide a menu to do this like you said aslong as the files werent included.

Nah it was stripped of music/campaign because we weren't allowed to distribute due to copyright reasons. it'd be a free download of the game with them. Like i said the games not freeware.

I use windows 10 and the campaign runs fine after a few tweak. You need to change 4 files: game.exe; gamemd.exe; Ra2.exe; RA2MD.exe.

1. Run as administrator

2. Compatibility mode: Windows 98

3. Disable display scaling.

You're not using the retail version, obviously.
