To make sure to disable the mouse sensitivity option (since it's meant to adjust the mouse movement over the window size to be equivalent to the full width of their screen) and to enable the FPS limiting option, which was more or less made specifically to fix the fast scroll bug (which I believe was their problem). It's complete nonsense, that's what it is. As it says, it doesn't even know what it is. Just make AVG ignore it. Modern virus scanners have the annoying tendency to be completely paranoid about any program they don't explicitly know to be safe.

The graphics system patch DDWrapper is known to solve several graphics problems in the game, including that one. Download the zip file and extract "ddraw.dll" and "aqrit.cfg" into your game folder. Then, open the configuration file "aqrit.cfg" in Notepad, change the "ForceDirectDrawEmulation" option to 1, save the file, and try running it again.

G-line is a server-level ban, no? Might even be a level above cncnet itself :-\

.mix aren't maps, they're archives that may or may not contain maps. Kinda like, y'know, zip files, only in the archive format the game uses. But if the game is set to read maps from a specific location it probably won't look inside mix files for it.

You're out of luck there. Windows 10 permanently gutted the DRM system used by these games, so I'm not sure there's any way to do it.

The fixed launchers are just for improved command line support from Origin. The first three games are freeware. No need to involve Origin with those at all if you just download the freeware versions. And you shouldn't need the "run as administrator" if you just set your Origin install folder to somewhere outside of Program Files, so the games can write in their own game folder without needing rights elevation.

That's all multiplayer only though... And, playing C&C games without the soundtrack? Blasphemy!

Maybe he googled online for compatibiliy fixes and added the funpark parameter to the Origin launch parameters for the game, thinking it was some kind of compatibiltiy option Did he install the 1.06 patch? Now I'm wondering if I actually removed the funpark parameter on it. I removed all need for the mode by putting the dino missions in the New Missions menu, but I dunno if I actually removed the parameter.

Windows 10 has a settings screen for managing notifications... I suggest you check that out and just disable them?

This isn't about the number of colours. 256-colour images are indexed, paletted images. It's an entirely different format. C&C doesn't support high-colour PCX format. Converting an image from high colour mode to 256-colour 8-bit indexed mode should be a standard function in any slightly advanced image editor. I'm fairly sure I posted tutorials covering both the basics of paletted images, and on palette handling in Gimp.
