  2. Loop doesn't cause looping, it prevents it by cutting X actions off the front of the loop. "loop:0" has no effect. If you look at how Westwood made patrols, they make them guard about 5-10 ticks between move commands.
  3. "Super" is for superweapons (originally made for the ion cannon in C&C1). It does 100% to everything. Organic is the one used for the dog, and in C&C1 for the blossom tree's spray. That one only hurts "organic" beings, aka, armour level 0.
  4. You contradict yourself there. Specifically, the "build the teams" bit. Creating teams is completely unrelated to the AI creating units. Creation of units is controlled purely by the "keep X of this team's units in reserve" property on the teamtype. Even if the team is never, ever mentioned in any trigger, that will cause the units in it to be built. At least, if the specified amount of recruitable units aren't already available on the map. The "Autocreate" trigger autocreates teams, not the units in them. It does not affect the existing principles of unit and team creation, so, yes, autocreated teams will also recruit from preplaced map units. Also note that Autocreate is a property of the teamtypes (see my guide). Only the teamtypes that have this property enabled will be Autocreated.

  6. mechacaseal, please stop giving comments that really don't contain a single constructive sentence. From what I've seen, it is possible to run the games on Windows 8, so if you can't be bothered to actually do that search yourself and post your findings, please don't reply to these at all. That said, Karrotskirrit, as cn2cm said, if you don't tell us which game you're talking about we can't really help you. From the error message I'm going to assume you tried to run Tiberian Sun in windowed mode, though, which indeed doesn't work because it requires a lower colour depth than what's default on anyone's screen these days. So, my advice... don't run in windowed mode?

  12. Ahh, nickserv isn't actually a channel bot. It checks all logins. It's unrelated to channels, actually. Really, if you want the specifics on nickserv, just google it

  14. Fun fact: besides the movies and music (which are technically CD files), my patch replaces every single file in the game folder, except for the 10 MB update.mix, which contains the colour tables used for stretching the videos.

  17. Ahh, yeah... your problem there is actually "what triggers the popping up"? See, NO weapons in C&C are AA only. I don't think the game even supports that; AA is an additional property to a weapon, not a restriction. The SAM missile can perfectly be used against ground targets (with devastating effects; think a triple range rapid-reloading V2 launcher with faster projectiles). So the only thing making the SAM site AA only is the combination of the facts that it cannot be targeted manually, it only auto-targets air, and only pops up when finding a target through that auto-targeting. btw, I actually think I made a smaller reaper later...
  18. It's basically a bot in the channel with channel operator rights that renames or kicks off people (depending on configuration) if they don't authenticate with it first. You're dodging the question. I'm not gonna argue semantics here. I just want to know how on earth you could ever think it was a good idea to use the specific name of some other user in the community, no matter whether they still used it or not. It's not like it's a common name or anything, or something you could've come up with on your own. it's really specifically his username.
  19. ^ Exactly what I was thinking. The first three games are freeware, so for playing those you don't need to buy anything.
  20. Not necessarily... ping just uses one port. ISPs sometimes just block the use of certain ports.
  21. You can actually turn any building into a rotating turret. I changed the silo into one once, using the SAM site's popped-up graphics. Once you enable that "is rotating turret" option on any building it will have the same frame configuration as the Gun Turret.
  22. Well, you can fire weapons over buildings as well anyway... nothing blocks all weapons.
  23. You can just use print screen and paste the result in paint, y'know. Less neck-straining to read, too.
  24. Yeah, I kind of wonder why this was never done. It using IRC is no excuse; nickserv has been a staple of irc for ages. Question remains... why did you feel the need to impersonate another user?
  25. If regaining EMP from the moment you rebuilt your EMP cannon was supposed to be a feature, it wouldn't require you to use the depowering trick
