I think from now on that should be our answer, along with ITS NOT DONE YET. PLEASE STOP ASKING

I could imagine certain GDI missions would be harder if you took away the airstrikes (particularly Blindsided) Dunno what you would do on Blackout though, other than that (and one of the PSX/N64 missions) all their missions should be completable without it.

Command & Conquer: Dawn of Tomorrow teaser thread

I'd agree Mixed tech missions without any explanation as to how you acquired it are a big turn-off for me And also im in that top 10% MattAttack -
Without actually knowing I think they were added as a seperate teamtype scripted to attack something as opposed to a normal powerup airstrike.
-
Usually also a video is sped up to save space because it might be a big long I'm pretty sure RC's longest speedrun round was something like 10 minutes, and theres no real need to shorten that.
-
I think the challenge would more be getting a good unit Kill/death ratio rather than zero losses at all (only ever done that on GDI 6 and Nod 10b)
-
why not just join Nod instead But yeah those speedruns were very interesting indeed, thanks for sharing them with us. Was very cool to watch (and learn) some crazy new strategies and exploits.
-
we should do challenges like the "destroy everything Nod Death Squad" thing you did so on Nod missions 6(b?) and 7c the challenge is to capture the entire GDI base And once I (somehow) on Nod 10b managed to destroy all the units on the map, including the 2 meds and patrolling mammoth And do all the missions without engis! (or something)
-
I guess with extreme exploitation of lazy AI (and engineers) most missions are quite easy. It wouldve been cool to see you do Nod 10b (with the mammoths R&D facility) , a personal favourite mission Although on 10a it was so satisfying to do it conventionally and then flatten the research building with artillery

I am incredibly scared/intrigued into how you managed to beat the entire Nod campaign.... without building an Airstrip. Scary stuff. Does go to show how overpowered engis were in the game though. As well as your...exploiting (I use that term quite loosely) of certain game mechanics. Also I found it very interesting how you exploited a really interesting bug in missions 9 and 11, where you could use your cy even when you couldn't see it, and you even had the speed of 2 cys with only one revealed to you. I discovered a similar bug in RA while mapmaking where if you had 2 barracks (one not revealed to you) building dudes could spawn them at your 2nd barr in the shroud.
-
Its not a bug, its an actual gameplay feature that wasnt ever used in any other C&C game. It was a cool one too.
-
I think funky tried to increase the object maximums for the game but it just either a) didn't work or b) caused crashes. Plus then my favourite soviet naval strategy wouldn't work so well (build a kajillion subs until building new boats is locked out)
-
I am not sure what you mean? You have to beat the missions in order to continue on to the next, unless you have some mod? I know in the Covert-Ops expansion you could choose any mission you please but those were not campaign based. GDI mission 6 (with the commando) asks you to bomb a specific (unknown) structure, which turns out to be the airstrip. If you bomb the airstrip, you go to mission 8 no problem, if you bomb something else, you have to an extra mission in the same area but you blow up the whole base. If you exploit the "carry over money from previous mission" feature (its not 100% but its a fraction) you can build up sometthing like 100000 credits from mission 7, and start mission 8 with like 10000 instead of 4000 (or however much it was) This is incredibly useful in certain Nod missions as well.
-
I remember getting that bug the first time I got past the crazy-hard Nod mission with the Arty and Stealth tanks (Nod 11) and I for some reason couldnt save. So i was forced to beat the last two missions in one sitting haha (which I did)
-
IMO the hardest C&C mission I have played in ANY C&C game is Nod 11 (A and B) I still can barely do it once every so often
-
As is the solution to any Light vehicle problem a well-placed wall of grenadiers/minigunners/flamers across the base entrance should stop an early buggy or two if you're paying attention. Once I try to expand out into the middle I block part of it with a barracks and maybe a guard tower or two (as well as a couple of scattered infantry) The main big problem is finding a way to block scouts whilst still being able to let your harvesters in and out.
-
if hes playing HJK map as usual I find myself way better suited as GDI, but only if you can prevent his scouts from getting in your base. Otherwise yeah your buildings are toast.. Maybe thats just because I prefer GDI to Nod.
-
plus I would add giving it RA-type extra features wouldn't always make it better.... See the RA - C&C1 conversion mod "Red Dawn", its probably what you want (or close)
-
The screen shake got removed from Red Alert for a similar reason (plus the hilariously long death time of resigning when you had like 200 buildings and mammoths)
-
eh playing with JackCarter once is difficult playing with him in the midst of an ffa is awkward/annoying playing him more than once is extremely easy. If you can do a half decent job vs engis, apaches and nukes, you win.
-
because the game is just no good without proper explosion sounds (I'm half serious when I say that xD )
-
I understand entirely Mattattack I undertook myself on a very similar project for red alert about the same time, an attempt to replace all the maps with my own (ive made something like 30 templates with bases and stuff, but only about 5 actual finished things) Being able to restructure the map screen to your liking (without insane difficulty) would be great.
-
I do love a bit of arty in Nod vs Nod. Flame tank is so satisfying when you just burn through about 20 infantry at once. I never build SSM because I so rarely build an Obelisk of Light haha
-
Seperate helipad is ok undeployable mcv is annoying because it means you can't sell it in a hurry. And I just hate playing with crates.
-
the worst ive seen lately is either 99 units and 999999 credits or ths one guy who goes 20 units, 10k cash and then camps in his base and spams helicopters but yeah I hate tib garden. The 2nd version is a bit better in that the left side isnt screwed, but still don't like it much
