Yeah its a minimum build time (which is when you get "max speed" on something) But I feel for you ehy, these people should be banned/muted
-
Hehe yeah. you're one of those few people who use orcas vs Nod xD. I use them a lot vs huni when he does his turret spam.
-
Maybe you should learn how to read
-
Some well placed arty has been the difference in some of my Nod vs Nod MP games. Its very useful when placed correctly
-
I don't usually get this problem as GDI, simply because by that sort of time I've stopped building hummers. But the idle units issue becomes very real as Nod
-
Has anyone managed to define how the airstrip works with "primary building" Because I still can't work out how its supposed to work, and its annoying me
-
Wow. I didn't even know that existed xD

I got some moderate use out of arty in SP. But flame tank spamming and brute force was really handy later on. My favourite MP units? Any 4 of Medium tanks, grens, Arty and Light tanks. Unfortunately neither arty nor light tanks are particularly helpful in Nod vs GDI. (theyre kickass in Nod vs Nod though ) Chem Warriors have limited use but on the more popular MP maps like injustice for all I got some seriously good use out of them (again, against other Nod players). Their damage vs Armour is stronger than that of the flamer, which means they also wreck bikes even faster
-
I can recommend cn2mc's twin peaks as a great 1v1 map. Also I can GDI on electric avenue no problem, theres lots of money on that map without it being all over the damn place
-
Flamers are too powerful for that to work imo.

thats stretching it a little bit. The World cup idea is nice, except the Asia/Australia/NZ area will be formed of like two people. Stretching it over a couple days is a decent idea (as white pointed out) to account for timezones. I *suggest* maybe holding it around the end of August, mostly for the 20th anniversary of the Launch of Tiberian Dawn (and my 19th birthday ) Making everyone pick ??? would be a cool way of mixing it up imo. Get those Nod-only spammers to think differently. Also about the map spec problems, certain maps have everyone spawn middle (like Adjacent battles), specs can work on those maps.
-
I think light tanks had the problem too but yeah mine layers / transports are the classic "no balls no class" glitcher jerks
-
It does. I hate using any of the glitches though. Takes away certain elements of diffculty
-
the early-game advantage of being able to defend your WF and CY by putting them next to each other is much more worth it compared to the problems you get lategame when Nod might have a nuke. For a player like me who tends to get out there in the mid-game when im rolling in cash this works quite well. But yeah. Apaches. Ugh. Rocket men are good in numbers but their HP just sucks. I wish I could put orcas on guard mode so that if an apache flys by it just chases it down and wrecks it.

Man. Reading this crap makes me understand why I hate people. And Tiberian Sun.

that one in the Top Left of the palette looks good

Maybe a blue (or purple) laser would be cool (insert blu-ray joke here)
-
A quick looksie on the ini file shows that they are ordered to attack a waypoint on the tree, but yeah pretty cool I guess. Usually on that mission I just wipe out the whole base. Yuri's revenge wasn't that hard (maybe except the last missions for Allies and Soviets... maybe) C&C 3 wasn't that hard either, maybe the last GDI mission I found quite difficult
-
Wow this is pretty cool If you could attatch this feature to units does that mean you could create (entirely for comedy or ridiculousness) a laser tank?
-
I'd agree, you remember the difficulty of each game usually for how many superhard missions there were (or at least seemed superhard on the first few tries) I got vibes of that much more when playing Tib Dawn and Red Alert 1 than any of the other C&C games I played (Especially those god damn tanya/interior missions. argh) And yes that Soviet RA2 mission was pretty hard. Interestingly the first time I beat it by nuking the kremlin (twice!)
-
If you're playing the game in a red-alert style manner then you would probably suit playing as Nod simply for the speed and control about them, but theres a heck of a lot more risk about blindly rushing in than a RA-style light tank rush. And on the note of shifting tanks, in GDI vs GDI this is a very useful idea, but vs Nod exposing/isolating armoured units is asking for trouble. My early experiences of Tiberian Dawn online are almost exactly the same, I found GDI a bit deficient and awkward to play as. Mostly for the reasons you specified. But now I massively prefer GDI because I prefer the comfort of being able to take bad guys on in a head-on-fight, whereas with the flimsyness of bikes I don't enjoy that comfort (thats mostly down to my playstyle). Its also related to why I build an unusually large amount of light tanks (compared to most players) in Nod vs Nod in GDI vs Nod, here are a few things I do related to the points you have mentioned. A decent mix of tanks and grens (maybe a few rockets and hummers) is vastly superior to anything basic Nod can throw at you, even if they have a much higher number of vehicles. Use this to your advantage and start picking off their vehicles and harvesters. To deal with hit-and-run bikers I suggest sticking a small tank+gren team around the tib, and/or having a squad of hummers run around to scare them off Also, Target units first! When it comes to bases I have a simple order for which I target stuff: Obelisks > Bikes > Turrets and Rocket Soldiers > Everything else Any bikes that drop off the airstrip while you're in their base you can blast immediately. Watch out for typical Light unit swarm tactics like sneak attacks and group splitting. Also defend your Weapons factory with its own stationed units (I go a little bit further maybe, my typical squad would include 7 or 8 grens, a few rockets and maybe even a Guard Tower). Killing like 8 or 9 bikes at the cost of a weapons factory earlygame is not that bad of a tradeoff. If you have a small group of tanks of your own a steady counterattack is very powerful. Even going down to only being able to build infantry is not so bad if you still have some armoured units lying around. This is all down to personal playstyle and experiences of course, feel free to pick it apart and comment.

That is still the most useful button to me on this forum

That gets boring after a while

I think AGT's were a genius idea. The splash dmg vs those numbers of infantry is outright brutal!
