The Red Alert 2 balance suggestion thread (Made for funsies)
ore_truck replied to Philpy95's topic in Red Alert 2
The whole point of mind-controlling is to counter their single powerful units like the apoc. You don't expect people to train a Yuri just to get rid of a conscript, right? -
wow korc, you have no idea or must be new if you dont know siralex.. but it's okay, you can personally attack or ego shit talking in the forums against someone who disagrees with your point if you believe it makes your argument stronger...
-
maybe he had the same nickname by coincidence, what happen to the old days when people play anonymously without caring about personal reps

I wish it isn't true but sadly the Soviets are underpowered against an equally skilled Allied player and *gulp* Yuri..... Their basic tank is quite good but badly needs desolators or else GIs or tank destroyers pwn them. Now, I had a lot of fun with the iron curtain. This thing is a game changer for the soviets.

Yup, Stalin wasn't in RA2 except for his picture sitting next to Yuri. Fav scene, it's either Vladimir's scene in the tub(RA2) or Stalin and Nadia in the bedroom(RA1)...though the part when Cherdenko stared at the girl's ass(RA3) did made me smile a little.

Never knew you could stop those artilleries earlier. Yes, they're really annoying.

Let's Play Command & Conquer Red Alert: Counterstrike

The fuel bombs (or nukes whatever it is) are always aimed at predetermined spots, flares will show you where the bombs will always hit once you captured the western tech lab but I never pay attention to those markers. I don't think people bother avoiding the marked bombing spots anyway. -
You don't need cheats to get that many apaches in the beginning of the game. Like everyone said, it's not that hard to get 5+ apaches in the first minute because of its building speed. This is pretty common with starting credits more than 10K.

Why should we? You're the one telling us how big your body is.

Prism tanks. Desolators. Demo trucks (had about 4 or 5, Iron curtained them and detonate at the same time).

Let's Play Command & Conquer Red Alert: Counterstrike

The tough guy on that mission is almost as powerful as volkov (except he can be crushed) but if you sent a battalion of heavy tanks like that you won't notice since he'll get fried quickly. -
Gotta subscribe. This game is my childhood.
-
lol the RA3 T-shirt have a conscript pointing his AK-47 at Natasha's pussy
-
nobody plays official maps anymore gg anyway
-
TaxOwlbear is busy doing some Counterstrike missions at the moment. I wanna see him continue the Tratos mission.
-
you kidding? those tank destroyers rocks!

There's no rule saying no rushing. It's normal nowadays you get hated because the opponent doesn't like the way you play, but I almost never see this kind of attitude in the C&C1 community so far. As for the chat system, press the F1-F6 keys (depending the number of players in the game). See the topleft to see who you are talking to if it's more than 2 players, you can also chat with all. Enter !chat in the cncnet lobby for the explanation.

I like this update.

1 question, how does completing this optional mission (capture the train station) benefits the next one? Besides having the train revealing Nod turrets in the beginning.
-
Yeah, I remember the campaign cyan but in Yuri's Revenge, the final Allied mission there are two slightly different purple colors (one is more pinkish but different from multiplayer pink). I believe there are few more missions with this second yuri's house color.
-
Didn't the campaign had a unique Magenta(secondary Yuri enemy) color too?

Tech Outpost (for funsies) -Missile battery fires like elite IFVs Reason: I know they're meant to be repair facility and base expansion, the turret is just an extra you're lucky enough to get but still it needs more love. Other tech structures cost the same (requires $500 engineer to capture) but has much more value. -
I like having those campaign colors in multiplayer too but there will be issues. On the last Allied mission if you sabotage the black team's power, the timer will be unreadable because of the black background. For brown, it may be confusing with orange (I hardly realise the difference between those two the first time I played opeartion: dark night and operation: red revolution).

Not sure about fan-made maps that have them but you should try the dino funpark campaign, the mission where you have a base allows you to train chem-warriors. That's the only official mission that has a buildable chem soldier. I remember my first time seeing the chem-warrior's icon was at Sole Survivor back in the 90s, literally more than a decade before I first played C&C1 online or knew about the dinosaur missions.
