Grant
New simultaneous online record reached - 5593 In 2017 when we published a post about how CnCNet had just reached 800+ simultaneous players online, we were pretty sure it couldn't go much further. The records ever since have been increasing and have regularly hit a number in the 1000's+ online. Most recently however, these numbers have been blown away, most likely due to the Corona virus outbreak occurring and the announcement of the C&C Remasters. Ra2Nub
Speechless is the only thing I can say really. While this is all fantastic @Grantbut because CnCnet is technically not an 'official' server, do you think EA minds we are getting *this* big? I hope you all don't get bought out or something Edited March 28, 2020 by Ra2Nub

I don't think we're ever at risk of being bought out. It's 2k but you know what it's not 10k or 50k. I think we'd raise eyebrows if it reached that point but it's still too small hat. I do know however know that Jim (from EA) supports the community and what we are doing (including us, and others of course - like OpenRA etc) so there's no problem there.

Ra2Nub
Ouch. That may be the concerns I had back when China was invading MO, which is language barrier. I do not think Thailand people know English very well

FELlTH
it started by this fb posted by a pretty well known page in gaming community for thai peoplehttps://www.facebook.com/sheapgamer/posts/669317057182957/ thenhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGC28HxCaRMhttps://www.facebook.com/gssspotted/videos/2623670241247814 and so goes the reaction chain there is a bit of history here apparently when the Red Alert 2 released back in the day almost all of computer shop in Thailand sold their computer with pirated ra2 installed. so pretty much all thai ppl with computer back then have played Red Alert 2 (it was overwhelmingly popular than Starcraft Aoe). so that fb post probably triggered their nostalgia on the game. Grant
This was yesterdays records. The demand yesterday tested the YR client that's for sure. Some may have experienced "lag" within the client, especially in the game listings and lobby chat. @FunkyFr3sh and @Rampastring identified some issues and worked on a quick patch to help ease some of these issues. In addition we were monitoring the lobbies and tunnels all day ensuring nothing was going to cause any issues. We also applied some measures to protect the game channels, which has little side effects like stopping the stats bot counting. (This is why you see the sudden drop in the stats below.) However this just ensured the players were still able to play normally. HOW CAN I HELP?CnCNet tunnel servers help connect players all over the world. Hosting your own tunnel server with our software can really benefit everyone. Please contact us on our discord channel - https://cncnet.org/discord with which areas you can help with. Sam-I-am
There are tens of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands or even millions) of people around the world who loved playing RA2 when it first came out that don't know about CnCNet. They just need some guidance. Thailand is just one example. There are many other Thailands. I see it in people's posts on Fb. Whenever someone posts something about the game outside the community, you see lots and lots of positive comments, love and nostalgia. People are eager to play it again, and they don't know that it is still popular (and playable) today! Edited May 13, 2020 by Sam-I-am
