Client sound is missing

Hello,

i was trying to run cncnet on my laptop but for some reasons client sound for hosting game & private messages are missing,

I have checked all the settings of client and it's fine, in game sound is perfectly fine though.

Got fixed by installing directx 2010

This is annoying really, can some admins please tell me the fix for this ? :/
